I don't get how the Weavers just seem to be baffled that people don't like them. At least when Boston Rob and Amber did sly things last season they knew exactly what they were doing and didn't apogize to anyone for it. These people are rude and crude and then act like they have no idea that it is wrong.
I think the worst one is the mother for egging it on and not putting her kids in line.

I don't get it either. Gee, if I said nasty things about people, threw things at them, and was just generally rude, I would expect not to be liked either. But, then again, I guess I do not have 'class' like they do.

I bet the Weavers are just loving the fact that the Paolo's are gone. So 'classy' of them to corner DJ Paolo and tell him that his family had no more Yeilds left, but they did "sweets".

The Paolos seem to know exactly how they come off. I don't think their behavior on TV would come as much of a shock to them or their friends and family.

That gives me the warm fuzzies as it does when parents let their kids dress inappropriately for church.

God gave the goods--it doesn't mean to flaunt it 24/7. Leave a little to the imagination.

I'm a bit sick of the thick black eyeliner myself. Teens can wear makeup--but good grief...why so much of just that one thing? Last I checked--the raccoon look is not so hot.

I honestly don't think that the Weaver's girls dressing is all that bad. I kinda think it is quite appropriate. I go to an all women's gym and people are wearing tank tops and shorts exactly like those. If I could fit into a pair, I would. I think that they are just the new items to be wearing for exercising... and the Amazing Race is obviously great exercise!

Another thing, I don't think they are trying to be 'trashy'. If they were, they would be like a girl at work who is a security guard and wears tons of make up and high heels. If they were wearing those shorts with makeup and high heels then I would assume that it is for a reason... but this might just be the way that they are comfortable if they are doing a lot of running around.

I agree, my husband's family acts like this and they all are very open about it. They say that's just the way they are...

That's a shame. You would think that at least after seeing themselves act they way they did that they would wake up.

What I didn't get last night was when the Weaver mom was yelling at the Paolos in the airport about yielding them. It's a GAME!!! If a football player intercepts the ball, you wouldn't expect the other team to start yelling at them "Why would you do that? It's so mean".

I thought their reasons for yielding were pretty good. They said on the unaired video clips on cbs.com that they were planning on yielding whoever was in last place to ensure their lead. When they got there ALL the other teams were there except the Weavers so they got yielded.

That being said, I wasn't a big Paolo fan either. Glad they're gone, just wish the Weavers had gone first.

I don't think the Linz family have talked nasty about each other. They seem like a very tight knit group of kids.

The bus episode with the Weavers whining and carrying on about the long ride seemed to be the real beginning of their woes with the other teams. It seemed to escalate after that.

I agree, the Linz family has been just having fun with the race. I think the sister is used the razzing she gets from her brothers. At least when she's lagging behind one of them is there making sure she can make it.

It seems as though all of the families, except the Rugrats, think they are above everyone else and see nothing wrong with talking trash. At least the Weavers, like the Rugrats, have never talked nasty about their own family members like the others. We are just thrilled that the Paolas can go back under the rock they came from!

I guess I don't get why talking nasty about others is ok, as long as your not talking nasty about your own family.

So, it looks like the majority of us are cheering for the LINZ family! Yay! I really like them. They seem very close and I think that girl's brothers are great to her. To the person who said that they seemed chauventistic (sp?!), I don't think they are at all. Do you have brother?!?! I have two older twin brothers and I would love if we were in this race and they were as great as the Linz guys.

And... I posted my opinions about the Weaver family before I saw this episode saying that I kinda feel for them, I usually do for the underdog. BUT, then when I saw this episode I couldn't believe it... why throw garbage at someone? I'm not American, but isn't that illegal? I hate how it is always the loopy people on TV who claim to be Christians and then go and act the way that the Weavers do.

Last of all, I need to say a little bit about the Paolo family. I AM SO GLAD THAT THEY ARE GONE! I can't believe that there are people out there who like them! I feel very badly for their poor mother because the father won't get his act together and take care of his son's behaviour. (I had to edit that last sentence because it was previously pretty harsh and involved the word 'slap'!) The father might as well be treating his wife that way if he is enabling (our new word of the day!) his son to treat his mother like that. I can't believe how his anger seems to get more and more violent, he needs an anger management class. I think that is abuse! And, I agree with the previous poster who said that neither him or his mother needs to worry about him getting married... no one wants a verbally/emotionally abusive husband.

What kind of "Christian" mom would let her children throw apple cores out the window at another team's car or make fun of a person driving a garbage truck?

When the Chicago sisters were comforting the Weaver kids at the race track saying the know this must be hard for them, and then in the next breath the Weaver kids call the Desparate Housewives two-faced. ***??

Man-how did the Weaver family become so high and mighty? Must be nice to know you are so perfect and that ever other family sucks because they dont have your "morals" WHATEVER! I cant wait until they are eliminated.

Can anyone summarize the last 10 minutes of the show. We had a bad storm here in Chicago and the cable went out. I take it the Paolos were dead last-no race to the finish with the Bransens? Did they take it hard, did they say nice things to each other at the end. I couldnt stand them at first, but they really grew on me

They got lost after the Grand Canyon and even a slow boat from the Bransons didn't help the Paolos.

I didn't like them at first, but they kind of grew on me.

The Weavers deserve any and all bad press/perceptions. They are two faced themselves and apparently thought every other team would succomb to them out of pity for their plight.

And, I was just thinking about something... don't you wish that Phil gave some opinion once in a while? Maybe after each leg of the race... opposed to you just forming your own, it would be kinda neat to hear people talk about it. Hehe.

Yep, it definitely isn't flattering!

This all makes me wonder if we would be so critical if it were the Bransen girls doing it?

I agree. I just think they are so wonderful. They joke for sure, and I don't think it is anything she has to 'put up with'... it is just fun for all of them. And, it is nice that they help her out. Personally, I have run with a backpack on before in my many travels and if there had been someone there being like that with me... I would have appreciated it. However, I don't expect myself to be equal strength as my brothers.

Another vote for the Linz family here--I like the Bransons, too, but I don't know if the dad can make it!

As far as the Linz boys' attitude towards their sister--I think it's more sibling ribbing rather than true chauvanism. You know, your siblings grew up with you, and they always know how to keep you from getting a swelled head. We joke in this house that our DS8 could win a Nobel Prize in 50 years, and our DD2 would just say, "That's my Bibboo!" when she got interviewed on the news! Because siblings are just like that. I felt the same way about the Gaghan family--the kids' comments just were so authentic. Or maybe there are people out there who have mature, adult relationships 100% of the time with their sibs, but I know I don't, not always, and a little humor can really help a tense situation. And I find this especially refreshing because we're not having the "racing models" we seem to get with most editions of AR.

BTW, I think the Weaver family is really annoying, too. The "we're better because we're Christian" stuff is just the icing on the cake--they'd be annoying if they were pagan! (And no, not trying to pick on any pagans, geez!)

OK I missed the Weaver family at the end. I usually skip any parts with them talking a lot, but maybe I should watch it again. I also missed them throwing food out the car. That's nice. And I don't know about the other teams, but I would guess that the Paolo's are Catholic. They are very very Italian, so they are most likely Christian/Catholic. Why would the Weaver's even think that no one else is Christian? And so what if they aren't.

Of the teams left, I like the two sibling teams. I don't really like the Bransen's. They haven't done anything wrong, but they seem to have no personality either.

Just watched the Weaver speech at the end. Here's what I don't get. They say how they were raised not to trust anyone but family. Then they complain about none of the other teams being nice to them.

I have to say that last week I was pullin' for the Paolo's with the mom tryin' so hard at the end. This week, I was pullin' for them not to make it. If the mom told the son one more time "I'll knock your f****in' head off", I think I would have screamed.
The Weavers, well, they are just undescribable. I can't believe those kids. The girls at the race track talkin' about the sisters when they were comforting them. And littering on National Television on an Interstate someplace.
The Bransen's, I just don't know. The dad seems lost. The girls seem to be in their own world or something. I just don't know about them.
I kinda like the sisters but they can be catty and nitpickey and that bugs me.
I guess that means I am pulling for the Linz family too!
