Oh no!!! Poor girl! They did so good, never argue or made stupid coments like the others!!!
Oh well!

I agree. I don't know why people didn't like the Gaghans. They never argued. They never said mean things. They were not nasty to each other or other teams. Even when the mom was searching forever (and lost the game) the dad and the kids were still supportive. They were my favorite team :(.

OMG! I laughed so hard at that. It brought back memories. We used to say that all the time growing up! LOL

Kewz1 Why is it so offensive that the Weaver family prays? I pray all the time too. The Bible tells us we are to pray without ceasing. And since my God is big enough to handle even little things like missing sunglasses or doing well in a race said:
:cheer2: Wow, good points!!! If they are Christians, then praying is a part of their way of life. Whenever I am need of something, big things or small, I pray. Even if it is for a line to move quicker at the bank/grocery store if I am running late, when I can't find my car keys, when I am lost while I am driving somewhere new. It may sound odd to others, but why is it so offensive is someone is asking favor of God? If that is your only reason for not liking them (which is the only reason I am hearing so far),is that fair? As the previous poster said, if they were Muslims, would you complain they prayed 5 times a day? Of course not... it is their faith, their way of life and it is important to them. So why bash the Christians for doing the same?

Back to the point of this thread, though, although they ar not may favorites to win, I just don't remember the Weaver's doing anything truly horrible. I really must have missed an episode along the way, but I watch every week :confused3 .

Them praying isn't what's offensive. It's offensive that they pray and then turn around the next moment and make fun of the other teams. Last night one Weaver child even said one of the other teams sons looked "retarded". They made fun of his job as a garbage man and then went on to make fun of the sisters physical appearance as well while flipping through the pictures pointing out everyones flaws. Sure they gave the sisters money but then they turned around and made fun of them! They're hypocrites because the last time I checked behavior like that was FAR from Christian like.

Wait a minute....this team has beed hated since day 1 of this game. If they only offensive thing they did last night, they why so much animosity all along?

Do you think it is very Christian to say someone looks like a retard? How about pointing to the garbage truck in the picture and laughing, as if it is somehow terrible to be a garbage man? That is laughable?

Nobody is holding the praying agianst them. Many AR teams have been religious and prayed. But none of them went out of their way to make fun of the other teams, or be nasty to them. I pointed out earlier there has GOT to be more we are not seeing about the Weaver's. The show wants to portray them as the praying Christian family, the whole world is agianst them for praying. That is not it at all. They must be TRULY terrible to ALL the teams, for them to all be against them like that, yet they get along so well with each other. The show is edited. We just want to know how bad the Weaver's must really be. I think we saw a hint of it last night at the Yield.

The dislike for the Weaver's has nothing to do with their praying. Their actions just prove how hypocritical they are.

One of the things one of the Aiello boys said last night was very smart, his mother told him to not help or except help and he said, something to that effect of, to take all the help you can get now then when you are in the final three don't.

I posted earlier that most of the teams did not have a problem with the Weavers until the bus ride to Alabama.

Oh and BTW I totally don't condone the way Weavers were teasing the others last night. But why isn't anyone upset when the other teams pick on the Weavers? Because the other teams are not Christians, it makes it okay for them to make fun of everyone else? I have heard the term "desperate housewives' and "Rugrats" thrown around, but that is okay I guess? It is like everyone LOVED Boston Rob from last season because he was so deceitful, but a this family, (who is not perfect just because they are Christians, by the way...just thought I would clarify) says 2 nasty things one night and they are the epitome of all this evil. I just don't understand the reasoning :confused3 .

See post # 867...apparently I was writing my post while you were responding.

What makes you think the other teams are not Christian? Just because they don't selfishly pray for god's help in every little thing? The Weaver's praying for god to help them, and only them, every step of the way does bug me and it the major reason I don't like them.

IIRC, those nicknames were created by the Weavers.

Sure it is editted and maybe we are not being shown the WHOLE story, but why judge them from what we don't know or what may have happened that we haven't seen?

This team has been hated since day 1 of this race and besides their actions last night (which I agree were uncalled for), no one can give me any other specific time they were "hypocrites". If I missed something that they aired that showed them as being awful and vindictive toward the others, then I am wrong. With last night's episode aside, I don't remember them doing anything hypocritcal to cause such contemption toward them.

You know, being a Christian doesn't mean you never swear, never call someone retarded, etc. It's not like this isn't stressful; I'd be upset too if someone yielded me. They got out their anger and said a few nasty things. I'd have probably ripped the pictures in half or drew pictures on their faces and called them worse.

Haven't you ever been in a situation where someone or some group is just dislike for no apparent reason? I don't think I've EVER seen any interaction between the Weavers and Paolos, so I have no idea why all of a sudden they are so against them. :confused3

If the producers would just give us a reason as to why they are disliked this would make much more sense.

Personally, I could care less about the Weaver's praying.

What I object to is the hypocricy displayed by the family. They pray to God for help, then turn around and make fun of other people. If that's a good example of Christian behavior, then I'm embarrassed to be called a Christian.

No one said it was good for the other teams to make fun of others. However, the other teams aren't claiming to be something they're not. Nicknames are a lot different than laughing at a man for the way he makes a living. It's a lot different than making fun of someone for the way they look. FWIW, were I in this race, I'd have nicknames for the other teams too--if only to keep track of who's who.

There has to be something more with the Weavers, though. More than just two incidents of name-calling. It's very odd that NO other team wants anything to do with them. Yet, the other teams continue to help each other. I'm wondering what we haven't been shown.

It's not just what they did last night (or the praying, I don't have a problem with that). It's a whole bunch of things. I don't like their personality, at all.

Hey, I am not going to take part in a Christian vs. non-Christian debate here, but, if praying for God's help in every little thing is selfish, then I am proudly selfish! It also makes me obedient to His word, but if you are not a fellow Believer, you just can't understand. If you are a fellow Believer, then I don't know. I'll just respect you anyways :) !

What other things?!?!?! This is my point. You can't even give me a specific. People here are saying "I don't like them because they are a hypocrites" and then can't back it up with specifics (except last night, which again, I do not condone). That is not fair. If you hated them from the beginning, as the other teams have, tell me what they did before last night to deserve it. I can however repect the fact that you say "I don't like their personality" because I know there are things you can list.

Well, one being the fact that they created those nicknames..and the way they said them was not flattering at all. "Oh, LOOK. It's the RUGRATS. UGH." (with a major emphasis on RATS)

Now, those kids have done absolutely nothing to them. Why do they feel it necessary to say something like that?

Major turn off in my opinion. I can't stand their negativity. Ugh ugh ugh.

We need to remember the Weaver's are a team of 3 children and 1 adult. The maturity level is not going to be that of the other teams or even the other season's teams. Name calling and being very upset at a setback are very normal emotions and espically for children. Yes, they are annoying, but the judgement is a little harsh.

Moving on:

Though they are less on my nerves, the Palio (sp?) family is still on the bottom of my list, so I was very glad they were the team to Yield the Weavers. All the teams were going to, but they chose to be the bad guys. That out to create some tension for them at the pit stop. :cool1:

The Gaghan (sp?) mom, looked so sad in the van ride to the pit stop. She was definately feeling guilty. Which is probably accurate, did you notice she was spreading her beans out nice and neat instead of a down and dirty search? Must be a perfectionist. And that poor little girl. I was heartbroken for her.

I agree. I too wonder what isn't being aired. I really wish TAR would have a reunion show after each finale. I would love to see Phil interview the teams to hear their anecdotes.
