Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

Talk about a MAJOR "princess" mentality. I don't know what bothered me more - her attitude, or the way her dad pandered to her. I'm glad they're gone.

was it just my TV or was her Neck all pink/red? :confused3

This has already been discussed, but Carissa said "I don't like these trailers, they're evil.", not gross. It seems like something a 9yo would say while they're searching through semi-dark empty trailers on a lot in the middle of the night. I don't think she meant anything by it.

I can't stand the Weavers! Who are they to be calling the Gaghans "rugrats" in that tone? They're like what, 3 years older than the Gaghan boy?

Hmmm. . . I didn't notice that. I couldn't get past the rolled eyes, whiny voice, flailing arms, tears, stomping of feet, and exasperated gasps. ;)

:rotfl: Teenage girls. ;)

I'm so surprised how the Paolo family pulled it together last night and came in second.
I felt really bad for the Schroader (Sp?) family last night knowing what happened to them with Katrina, but I also thought they would be the ones to go with the girl saying minutes count and how they kept pointing out they were going home.
I also thought last night's show was boring, how many clue boxes did they go to and there was only one task. I'm so tired of seeing them in the car.

Tell me about it . . . I have a 17 year old DD. Self-centered drama at its finest. :)

I noticed that too. At first I thought she (I cant think of her name right now) had on a pink scarf or something. Really creepy.

Oh, I forgot, as far as the being in the car thing, I would love that!!

We traveled the country for a year in 2003 and it was one of the best years of my life. I would love to be on an edition of the Amazing Race similar to this one; road trips are fun! I also know some faster routes than the ones they are taking; that would help. :teeth:

I just thought of something. When the families went to Anniston, I was thinking to myself, "I've lived in Anniston for 3 years and I've never seen nor heard of that big chair." :rotfl: I think I'll have to take a special trip back just to see it.

I think her name is Stassi, im so glad someone else saw it, I couldn't get my eyes off it, it looked like it wrapped around her entire neck...weird

I know! I was never allowed to act like that, nor would my parents just "take it."

I'm not sure why the Schroeders called the Weavers "white trash." I hate the phrase white trash and it's a nasty thing to say. Apparently they said the Weavers are "e-van" so they don't like them. Whatever that means...?? :confused3 I'm glad they are gone.

"Let my try and be your friend, then let me try and kill you." What does THAT mean? And what in the heck does that have to do with the Weavers.

I think the e-van referred to them as evangelists; as in they are always praying?

DH said the same thing then we realized it was from the boa thingy she had around her neck when they were playing blackjack in the boat casino.

The mother from the Weavers could really tone it down with all the prayers etc that drives me nuts.

Yea me too, I'd much rather hear the family members use profanity and scream at their parents  .......so much less offensive than asking God for traveling mercies...give me a break people...

So do you think the color wore off of the boa? because it was pink right up until the pit stop.

In our house there is no god so to us that is the same as somone cursing to many others. not to nit pick but there are other posts that agree with my sentiment on the prayers LOL. I loved the race track setting for the bicycles that was great the poor little girl in the Gahgan family even with the seat all the way down she couldn't reach the peddles onteh bike LOL.

I wish everyone would let up on the Weavers and their praying. They obviously turned to religion to help them through a very rough time when their husband/dad died. I'm happy for them that they found a way to cope. Also remember that it is the editors that keep including it in the footage...it could be that the Weavers are actually more private about it.

I'm so glad the Schroeders are gone. They are just so nasty and smug about everything. You can tell that they really think they are hot stuff and were probably positive they would win the race. As for Char's breakdown...too bad, so sad!!! (I was secretly hoping the boy would tell her to "shut her pie hole".)

Just clarifying. Praying and cursing are the same to you? Please explain.

BTW, I am not religious at all but would like to know

Just to clarify, I don't dislike the Weavers b/c they pray a lot. I'm just a little aggravated with their attitudes toward the other teams, but that's just my viewing, I'm sure others have different opinions which make just as much sense :flower:
