Amazing Race, Family Edition. *Official DiscussionThread*

zzzzzzzzzz

Worst AR ever.
Just my .02

I don't particularly like any of the teams; there are several I dislike, but no villains (yet). Just a bunch of boring people with boring lives and boring roadblocks and detours. Wow. Why not make them drive to Charleston and kill more time. Taking an 8 hour bus ride. Wow.

Worst AR ever.

Wow I'm surprised everyone has such negative things to say about this Amazing Race. It's one of my favorites.

Don't think I'll be visiting this thread for a while. Too negative.

I just think people are disappointed with this edition of the race. Seemed like a good concept that just was handled poorly.

I think the AR people severely underestimated the abilities of these families, the tasks just seem to easy for the strong teams. If the tasks had been slightly more comprable to the normal race then the weak teams would be eliminated, like in normal seasons. If they "watered the show down" to accomidate the younger players, they should have cast more than two families with young kids.....that being said, I'm still watching and enjoying it, just in a different way :flower:

I agree puffkin this AR isn't the ideal scenario and the challenges/tasks are far to easy. I am interested to see how the FLA family deals with teh race track issue. They have to get over it and move on no matter how much they miss their dad you can't avoid something forever in hopes of keeping the bad feelings away it just won't happen. This race has been a yawn at best mind you this past week was better but still nothing compared to the usual AR oh weell everyone drops the ball sometimes.

I'm still enjoying and watching despite the new format.
After all, it still the AMAZING Race!

Lady Collector!

Don't go....I think people are just upset with the fact that alot of the tasks are too easy and therefore not making it as exciting as we are used to.

I was :rotfl2: about the Weaver Family having the breakdown and the comments from the NY family.
They show the boy saying how they are losing it, then they show her dancing in the parking lot and then a quick shot of the on-lookers just staring like "what the?" LMAO

It seems to me that they may have developed the format with the intention of having more families w/small children. I don't know at what point the contestants were picked and they all turned out to be much older (except the Gaghans/Blacks). But it's almost like one division was working on the concept, while the other was selecting the teams...and neither was communicating w/each other.

I hope they start traveling west fairly soon as what we have seen thus far seems pretty much the same, driving from historical point to historical point in SUV's. There's so much more to see out there -- let's get some excitement back in the game!!!

Here's my thoughts:

Gaghan -- Great Team!
Schroeder -- Jerks
Weaver -- Too High Strung
Linz -- Too Immature
Bransen -- Please Give The Dad Some Caffeine!!!
Paolo -- Anyone Have A Muzzle?
Godlewski -- Cheerleaders Gone Wild

ITA with everything you have said, including your thoughts on the team (Especially the Schroeder Family)
Edited to Add: The boy in that family seems ok though

The mother from the Weavers could really tone it down with all the prayers etc that drives me nuts.

Couldn't have said any of that better myself! ::yes::

Now that the Aiellos and the Blacks are both gone, I find the Gaghans to be the only teamt that I'm really rooting for. I'll still continue watching if they get eliminated though. Actually the only team that I can't stand to watch this season in the Paolo family, I can't stand how nasty they are to each other! And I agree, the Weaver mother needs to chill a little the prayers.....I'm all for religion and everything, but geez.....

Well, I'm away at Disney for the week! I know, feel sorry for me.
Do the BCV's have a VCR that you can tape on?

No they don't have vcr's anymore they replaced them all with DVD players and that is only in the 1 bedroom and larger units the studios don't have either.

From commericals...The challenge at the race track does not involve a motorized vehicle. It actually looks like a mine car or something.

IMHO--AR is doing nothing wrong regarding the location of the challenge. NOw if they had this challenge at Daytona--that would be cruel.

(And since this is an airing commerical--I didn't notate spoiler for that reason, so don't yell at me ;).

I agree there is nothing wrong with this if they can't handle the race track maybe they should just drop out of the race all together. They need to get on with life yes it was tragic that their dad died at Daytona but you have to face life not hide from it.

Boy two familes I would like to see out are the arguing Italians and the praying family, can't stand all those preayers!!

I love the Paolos and Linz' but despise the Weavers and Gaghans!

Paolos not doing so well so far tonight, here's hoping for a non-elim.

Either Stassi is PMS'ing or is just a whiny little witch (with a B). OMG the Florida team, what could be worse? Grow up idiot. You're gonna be stuck with people you don't like your entire life....get over it. Great job mom and dad . I can't STAND that family. Awful people if you ask me.

The Paolo's are annoying as ever and will never change. I wish they'd come in last. Or at least put some duct tape over their mouths.

I like the Weavers. I see no problem with praying. We always said a prayer before car trips. And my parents always start their day by praying. Of course anytime a team is remotely religious the producers seem to focus on that.
