Hey everyone!! I've been enthralled with all of your excellent amazing work!! I have even gotten so many ideas (Amazing race) from here. I'm getting married in June in Disney and want to do an Amazing Race competition for my guests...I have all the designs, I'm just clueless as to how to make up the clues, road blocks, etc.....if anyone has done this and can provide me their clues, I would really appreciate it!! Thanks!

Whipperwhirl did the most AMAZING...Amazing Race at Epcot for her daughter and has an entire post dedicated to everything she did. I think there are over 26 clues that she has for others to use. Here is her thread:

If you need the actual blank cards to put your clues on...I have made them all and they are in my 4shared file in the link in my signature then look in the "amazing race" file.

thanks for the quick response!!! Unfortunately most of her clues are very kid oriented and we have all adults..do you know anyone else who has done a more adult version?

Its been a while and I'm wondering if anyone knows where I can find more adult version clues for an amazing race challenge?

This sounds so much fun. We are having a gathering at DL this year with a bunch of friends. This would be fun to play. I hope someone can help you with this...and then maybe help me!

I love the idea as well. We're taking my son (20) and his girlfriend (19) next October to WDW and I'd love to put this together for them. Maybe we can all work together to plan something more teen/adult oriented. We'll be there during the Food and Wine Festival. I thought I could use that for some good Detour options. What are the size/ages of your groups?

Jane

I am getting married in June, so we'll be there at the beginning of June, our group will be 6 of us...aged 25-55..if we can figure this out together..that would be great!

I was thinking of sticking with Epcot only items. Did you want to travel to other parks or just keep to one?

I think a dixie cup of Beverly from Club Cool would work for the disgusting food challenge :rotfl2: Facial expressions in a picture should be proof enough...

I am making one for my DDs 17 and 12 for our July trip. I went to allearsnet.com and wdwinfo.com and found trivia on the different countries and used that for some clues. For example, in the American Adventure, there are 44 flags in the Hall of Flags, so for one challenge they have to count and get the right number before they get the next clue. Our fave place for snacks is the bakery in France, so one roadblock is to stop there. They have to get henna tattoos in Morocco. My DH is a Canadiens fan so he will have to sing O Canada! by the waterfall in Canada. They will have to don Viking ears and slay the giant troll in Norway. There is a maze in UK so since it the a-maze-ing race, they will have to go thru that. I like the pressed penny idea so I will probably use that to fill in. The show is currently on tv so I am listening to get the wording down exactly. Dolly has all the clue cards in her file which I plan to use (thanks to Dolly!!!!). Hope that helps! And Congrats!

I've pretty much scrapped the AR theme for our group but I thought maybe it would be fun to create a scavenger hunt type of list that we could team up and compete against each other. Maybe some of them could be used for your AR games. I’ve thought of things that are both free and some that have a cost associated with them.

Each item is worth one point the team with the most points at the end of the trip will win the Family Scavenger Hunt trophy, bragging rights and more importantly dessert at a snack cart of their choosing!

No Cost items
  • Find a castmember who has your name and take a picture with them
  • Take a picture with a character (each picture is worth one point)
  • Get the autograph of a character (each autograph is worth one point)
  • Take a picture using a crazy pose using an icon from the park (think of all those people that pose “holding” up the Leaning Tower of Pisa)
  • Find a girl that has been “Boutiqued” (make sure to get parental approval) and ask her for her autograph and if you can take a picture with her.
  • Find a child that has been “Piratized” (make sure to get parental approval) and ask her for her autograph and if you can take a picture with him/her.
  • Get photographic evidence (preferably video) of being selected to participate in a parade, show, streetmosphere act, etc by a castmember.
  • Using the bubbles provided in your kit – distract a child or group of children waiting in line, for a parade or show (must provide picture).
  • See a shirt with a funny phrase? Get a picture!

Money Items (a dollar amount will be provided and teams cannot spend more that the allotted amount to gain points)
  • Purchase a Mickey Balloon – carefully consider and pass the balloon on to a most deserving guest (request a picture – but scouts honor will suffice if the recipient doesn’t want to have the picture taken).
  • Get a pressed penny from each of the four main parks
  • Buy an Epcot passport and get a stamp from each country.

I'll be adding more from the suggestions listed here.
