Please tell me what happened tonight. For some reason my VCR didn't tape it. All I got was the intro, boy am I bummed. If it was on at 10 like it usually is I would have been home to watch it.

Tigercat....All teams refused to use the Yield and none went for the fast forward either. They were all "grouped up" again at a brick factory for the Roadblock where one person had to make 20 bricks perfectly. Since no one took the FF and Brandon was doing so poorly making the bricks, they decided to go back to try the FF. Well they had to BOTH shave their heads and refused to do so, knowing they would face elimintation. Turns out it was a non-elim round, so they got lucky.

That's the jist of what happened.

Thanks Ellester. I will watch it some other time this week to see all the show but am really upset that I missed this one.

In case you wanted more than that: teams had to drive themselves to a water park in Dubai, it didn't open until 8am so everyone caught up. They had to go down a big water slide and were then told to drive themselves to the airport and fly to Calcutta. Chip and Kim took a cab 1/2 way there before they reread the clue and went back to drive themselves. Moms left their bag with passports at the waterpark and had to go back. Then they followed a taxi driver to the airport and he charged them for the trip and Linda refused to pay, almost a repeat of Colin last week! I didn't see exactly how it worked out, but I think she went ahead and paid after finding out it wasn't so much in US dollars. Everyone made the same flight except Chip and Kim. In Calcutta, there was a yield that noone used and a fast forward. Chip and Kim caught up with a cabdriver that knew a short cut through the crazy Calcutta traffic and got to the roadblock first. They had to make 20 clay bricks. Colin, Chip, and Karen all finished pretty quick. Brandon was having trouble so they decided to go back and do the fast forward since noone else had used it. When they found out it involved shaving their heads they refused and went back to the bricks. The twins had finished by then but Brandon did it fast this time. They then had to take a taxi and then a train to another village. Colin & Kristie and Chip & Kim made the first train. The moms had to make a deal with the cabbie to trade dollars for rupees since they couldn't buy a ticket with dollars, so they got a later train. In the village there was a detour and all the teams chose to move a taxi 1/2 mile to a garage. There were no engines in the taxis so they had to push them, with lots of help from the locals. Brandon and Nicole were so far behind, but they pushed it out and finally made it to the pit stop and found out they weren't eliminated.

Phew, OK, I think that covers the basics! The previews for next week show the twins getting held up at the airport by not having proof of a reservation, so who knows.....

That was great. now I can sleep easier tonight and can wait a little more patiently for the reruns to come on.

We watched Canada beat the US in hockey tonight that is far more important than the Amazing Race inour house. Mind you it was also on from 9-10 tonihgt not the usual 10-11.

I wish they did not have so many non elimination rounds bunched together at the end.
I too would NOT shave my hair off either, so I can't blame them for that. I did think it was funny that it was Brandon and Nicole, the "models" that faced that choice.
I am still for Chip and Kim, then Brandon and Nicole. If Colin/Christy wins, I am going to be very upset. There will be no good "lesson" for him if his wicked ways work.

I thought last night's episode was really good. If they keep getting bunched up it will make for one nail-bitting ending! I still want Chip and Kim to win but Brandon and Nicole moved up a notch or two so I would like them to come in second. I think Brandon is a doll and very supportive. The bowling moms are just annoying me for some reason. The twins provide some form of entertainment and Colin and Christy...how much longer must we take it?!?
The previews look really good for next week. Is this the week Christy finally stands up for herself or is it just a tease like the preview for last night's episode where I thought Colin would self-destruct?

I really had no feelings either way for the bowling moms until last night. The blonde one (can't remember which one it is) is working on my nerves! The constant whining, and we only see the edited version, her own partner was getting annoyed. They better be careful or they are going to get in big trouble. When she was flashing that money around, she was lucky she didn't get attacked.

Colin and Christie seemed to work together better last night, but the constant "baby" is driving me nuts. Unfortunately, the best players usually are people like Colin and Christie. I like Chip and Kim's strategy though to build up his ego and let him self destruct.

Can't wait for next week, it should be an elimination round (they only have one more non-elimination left and they usually save that one for when they show the top 3.

Are the elimination rounds predetermined? or is this something that can be decided at the time?

I think Phil said that the elimination rounds are pre-determined....

Was surprised to see the yield last night....wonder if that is the first time they ever had the option or if they just never show it since nobody uses it ???

I saw one on the very first show and nobody used it, but a Yield is suppose to be on every show. It got a little wierd how everyone made a comment, "like we will not Yield"


Colin and Christi have won 3 cruises so far for coming in 1st place. If they win the million, at least they will have money to pay for the
1099 taxes.

Just a word in Nicole quasi-defense on the hair thing--isn't she the reigning Miss Texas or some such thing? While I doubt her contract specifically says you can't cut your hair, it would certainly mean a lot of her life has been centered on her looks. Now, if it were my daughter, I would hope she would be willing to shave her head and talk about inner beauty, but I can only imagine that someone whose life is devoted to pageants would have her looks a top priority.

On the other hand, Brandon has no excuse, but since she wouldn't do it, it doesn't matter.

Actually, Nicole O'Brian is a FORMER Miss Texas, and bills herself now as a "Christian Model". Although after her comment about the high number of Mosques (in a predominantly Mulsim country, mind you), it is obvious she has little tolerance for other views and religions. She refused to have her hair cut out of vanity, pure and simple. I'm sorry they were not eliminated last night.

I don't blame them for not cutting their hair. Whatever they do, they do make a living with their looks and it's obviously important to them. I know it would be VERY hard for me and I don't even have hair I like.
