Amazing Race #22, NON-spoiler thread!

Wow. That's just crazy they didn't use the Express Pass! And his attitude...no regrets.....we didn't need the million...hmmm.

Wonder if they are still a couple??

I loved Phil's face at the end though.

J&J were on Joey and Meghan's recap videos this week. They are still together and are adorable. :goodvibes

Below is a link to each recap....

Meghan's: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zYZJt6b0nnw

Both have been posting weekly recaps of each episode. It is interesting to hear "the rest of the story" so to speak.

I'm watching Season 1 today on Hulu.

It's awesome to see how far A) the Race B) Television in general and C) everything has come since 2001! It's awesome.

Also: I can't get over how annoying and obnoxious some of the teams were! I thought some of the recent ones were bad!!

Watched the recaps and I still think he is creepy. She is adorable. He needs some therapy.

Wow, what did you think of last nights show.

Wynona-speak up-she is a much stronger person, than she thinks she is. She keeps letting her dh do the challenges. If others were worried about Joey and Meghan as a couple, I truly think Wynona is kicking her husband to the curb, even though he is doing all the challenges for her.

Wow, the girl team was pretty strong.

Wynona should've done the socialism flag thing since she may get stuck later on with a physical challenge that's too much for her. ;)

Like others have said, I'm really not connecting with any team either, I guess I hope the hockey players stay longer and I'd like to see team orange go. ;)

I agree that no one team stands out. I wanted to like Connor and his dad but I ended up SO happy to see them go. They both annoyed me.

I like Beth and Mona and I like Bates and Anthony. I liked Chuck and Wynona until last night when they both pissed me off, lol!

Seems to me like the newlyweds are trying a bit too hard to be villains this season. :rolleyes2

I still don't have any favorites either. Maybe the hockey players right now. I don't know why, but last night's episode was pretty boring, IMO. Maybe because you knew nobody was going to be eliminated, since the father/son team took the DQ.

Yeah, Chuck & Wynona need to read the clues and just be more observant, like holding hands on the stick things and carrying chickens to the market. Yup - she should have done the less physically challenging task. They'll regret it later, when she will have to do something she's not up to. She should take over their team as the "brains". (!)

You must be talking about Team Guido. They were so nasty.

I was confused by one thing last night. Why did some of the teams not know who was eliminated? Aren't they all at the rest stop together?

What I thought was interesting is the first time through on the dance, Wynona said "no we don't need to hold hands!" It seems like they were the only team who thought that (might be editing) and it also seems like it took them a LONG time to figure out they did.

Then with the chickens, she said they needed to grab some and Chuck said no. Not much good communication or reading going on there.

I also think Wynona should have done the Roadblock. I think Chuck has done all of them so far (or at least most of them). That's probably going to come back to haunt them.

I still don't have a favorite team but was liking Winnie and Pam (is that right? can't remember!) last night.

I will say...I don't like that a team who has been U-turned can then U-turn another team, even though they haven't completed their tasks. It's always been this way, but I really think you shouldn't be able to U-turn somebody else until you've completed all your tasks.

Scripted? Maybe they were told to talk about it. At pit stops, they may have gone to their rooms already.

I was thinking the same thing last night and also was wondering why they didn't know who was eliminated. In the past (very first seasons) they were all at the pit stop and enjoyed a meal together. Rules must have changed.

Totally agree about this... especially since it was the annoying youtubers who got to benefit from u-turning the weakest team before completing both tasks!

I like Pam and Winnie after this leg, and I'm still rooting for the hockey players and Team Orange!

I was really sad to see the father and son leave they were my favs

I really don't like the girls who came in first, they rub me the wrong way

Joey recaps the whole Bali adventure. At 12:25, John and Jessica come on and give their recount. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bSomrbH2T2g

John (I didn't think) was nearly as annoying as he was on the race.

In case anybody didn't get what the apology was about :

http://m.military.com/daily-news/2013/03/23/vfw-blasts-cbs-for-amazing-race-vietnam-segment.html?comp=700001075741&rank=1

I was pretty shocked at that segment and glad they got called out on it.

That's about the 3rd or 4th time I've seen that they needed to memorize the song. They didn't. They memorized a line that was displayed on props. They make it sound like there were Americans who were made to profess their love to Vietnam and Socialism. And that's just not true.

I understand the B52 argument a little more. But I think it's important we remember that the War is just as much a part of their culture and history as it is ours.

I don't know enough Race history, but this isn't the first time they've gone to Vietnam. I don't understand why this trip was so much different than the last. I do believe that people may have overreacted a bit to this, unless there is some other significance to the memorial that I do not have knowledge on. As for the song? It just reminded me why I'm glad this country isn't Socialist. (And before anyone jumps on me, my father is a Vet who served during the Vietnam War, but not in Vietnam, so I do "get it." I'm glad the Amazing Race issued the apology, and I think it's time to move on. I think it was a big step for them to do it during the telecast and not just online.)

As for this Leg, Joey has got to stop acting like a child over everything. It's getting old.

Been lurking but figured I'd finally comment. First I liked the apology and am glad it was done during the show.

I'm liking Joey and Meghan, the voices get a little annoying but after watching his youtube channel of the last couple weeks I kinda get his humor.

Max and Katie have got to go. The "they stink" comments really rubbed me the wrong way.

And to bring it all back to disney, did any body else start singing Timon and Pumba's hula song when they showed the warthog?

Bah.

IMHO, showing the culture and history of the countries they visit is what the show should be all about. The Vietnam War IS a part of their history and ours, and there's nothing wrong with showing all aspects of it (anti-war and anti-American-involvement included). And they ARE a Socialist country. Their country, their way of life, none of our business. If they want to have a song about it, and CBS wants to show it, I don't see why they should have to apologize for it. :confused3

Then again, I guess I am just not offended all that easily, nor am I terribly flag-wavingly patriotic. So to me, and also everyone I was watching with, including my USMC vet husband, it just wasn't a big deal.

Again, just my personal opinion.
