Think I am talking about the Red Sox? NOT!
LOL My dd had a softball game last night and to say that her team is a female version of the Bad News Bears would be an understatement. Sorry, but it is true. It is like the league put all the beginners and sub-par players on one team. I feel bad for the coach, but he is doing an amazing job with these girls. (6-8th grade)
Last night was the first full game I could catch. She plays on Wed. and Fri. I babysit on Weds. and had class on Fri. until last week. No more class, so now I can watch her play on Fridays.
It was a sad show. They were being slaughtered. I could not take much more of it in the top of the ninth when the other team was winning 17-6. I told my Dh was I was leaving, because I couldn't stand seeing the other team score one right after the other. I started the van to leave (DH had his truck) and they got the 3rd out. So I shut the van off, and figured it would be a quick 3 out inning to put the team out of it's misery.
DD's team scored 3 runs before they got 2 outs. So it is now the bottom of the 9th, 2 outs and the score is 17-9. Dd comes up to hit. I can't believe how nervous I was. I did not want her to get the 3rd out, since they seemed to be bringing in the runs. She walked and filled the bases.
Well folks, to make a long story short, with 2 out in the bottom of the 9th, those little underdogs went on to score 9 MORE RUNS TO WIN THE GAME 18-17.
My Dh was hysterical laughing as I am blasting my horn...he said "You almost went home and missed this!" (In my defense I was exhausted, I had worked all day and then brought DS to an appointment that last all afternoon). If she came home to say she won, with that score, I never would have believed her! LOL
True life lesson, never give up, it ain't over till it's over!
