I hope this isn't a repost, but I had to just tell you all about The Magic Eraser by Mr Clean, It retails for 1.99 (2 in box)and you can find .50 coupons often. Let me tell you this sponge is amazing, it cleans soap scum out of the tub and works great in the shower better than Foaming Bubbles cleaners, it removes crayons, paint, markers, pen marks off of tables and walls and floors, it removes smudges and marks off of vinyl dolls, cleans wood trim and vent covers, sinks and countertops. The list goes on but the best thing about it is that it is nontoxic and doesn't emmit any odors. I couldn't find anything to clean Dd4's dolls and this worked, I also had some scuff marks on the vinyl flooring in the kitchen that I had tried like crazy to remove and this also worked on that. I hope you try it!!

P.S. I don't work for Mr. Clean! ;)

I agree this is a good product! I've only used it to remove marks on the walls. It does leave a very faint mark behind...not much of anything, but if you look very closely I can see where I've used it on the walls. I want to emphasize that it's a very faint mark, and I'd rather have that than a dark mark.
Another favorite of mine is Spot Shot. If you have a stain on your carpet, this stuff pretty much gets it up. Mind you, I understand that it isn't the best chemicals to be breathing, so I always suggest treating a pet stain with enzyme cleaner first (like Nature's Miracle), but if theat doesn't work, Spot Shot usually does.

Is the spot you are referring to the paint being removed? I have noticed this if I scrub too hard but I have flat paint so it doesn't take much scrubbing. You just need to touch up with a little paint if it's noticable. I agree it's better than markers or crayons!!

Wow! I have to totally agree with both of you about both products. They are 2 of my absolute favorite cleaning products. I don't use any other product to try to get stains out of my carpet anymore. The Spot Shot works like a charm. The stain just disappears even when it has been there for awhile.

Thanks for posting.

We call it the sponge of death because it does have formaldehyde in it. But I use it all the time anyway. I just wish it didn't fall apart so easy on the tough jobs. I use it almost exclusively for the door handles on the fridge. It's amazing how those dirty fingerprints come right off.

It could be. Hard to tell. But I will have to try it in the bathroom!
The thing that drives me crazy is trying to clean the tiny crevices - like where the metal lip of the kitchen sink hits the surface of the counter. The only thing I find that works is - ouch - scraping it with a knife! We have hard water here, so a solid forms that is very hard to remove.

mickeyluv'r have you tried lime away? It works really well on the hard water crusty stuff. I use it around my sinks and in the toilet. Works for rust stains too. I also love the magic erasers. I will have to try them on the soap scum in the shower. Anything I use in the shower, I still have to scrub and scrub.

Yeah, I got a free sample of it and really liked the Mr Clean, but it really did a number on my hands. I read it had formaldehyde (sp) in it so perhaps that's why?

It says right on the packaging that it will scratch certain surfaces, it is sort of like using a super-fine grade of sandpaper to get rid of the mark.

One thing it is really great for is aluminum screen doors. I thought ours would never come clean and this really took off all the scuffs, albeit with some slight scratching but not too noticeable. Just be careful if you use on a tub surround, my friend's really scratched hers so that it is pretty easy to see.

Bon Ami, which is a powdered cleanser, works great on all the same things. You have to rinse it a lot, so in some cases the Magic eraser is better. It costs 89 cents a can. I have almond formica in the kitchen and that's the only thing that cleans it.

Magic eraser: Someone posted last year to use on white sneakers and it does an amazing job.

Thanks for reminding me!!! Dd4's princess sandals after wearing them everywhere all summer, were gross looking so I scrubbed them with the magic eraser and Wa La!! They looked like new for our trip!!
So did I get it wrong on the nontoxic claim? I thought I remembered it saying that on the box, but I discarded my box so maybe my memory has failed me...yet again! Since it has formeldahyde in it, it must not be nontoxic, right?

I love this product. The commercial says that you will look for things to clean...and I really do.....I need help! :rotfl2:

I never thought about using it on the tub or baby doll heads. THANKS!!!

When I thought we might be selling our house I got cases of those and started cleaning. They are great! Is there anything they can't do??
