Amazed at Misinformation!

Just got home last night after 9 days at WDW and can confirm that the new FP thing with getting more after your 3 is not in place yet. And there were FPs available after our 3 were used, I saw them on the app. But you could not make more once you used your 3. It is possible that they are testing it with a select group of guests, but it is not live for all regardless of what any cast member of any type told you. We tried to do it almost every day in the hopes that it might work.

I had a thread saying the same thing. I also had 4 cast members say it isn't testing yet either.

Thank you for posting this. This is the type of info. many of us want to know about. :thumbsup2

On a Disney bus someone was telling their family that they would be taking the monorail to DHS the next morning. When one of her kids tried to correct her, she said that she had done extensive research and knew exactly what she was talking about. My husband was elbowing me, wanting to make sure I was hearing this conversation. I am always amazed at what you'll hear on a Disney bus.....:scared1:
thats why I usually try to sleep.

Thank you for sharing this! That sounds like a first hand report to me! I do hope they start it soon though.....

. . . There are buses that run from DTD to each of the parks.
. . . You can make ADRs for quick service meals too.

These two ARE true, not misinformation.
. . . due to construction, DTD now runs buses to parks
. . . some QS locations (eg. BoG) have FP+

I was in a drug store the other day and heard a woman on the phone insisting that Saratoga Springs Resort had a boat that went to all the parks and that the Contemporary was the ONLY resort on the monorail.

So nobody hear has ever had a conversation with a family member on, say, the monorail on the way to the park, intentionally using wrong info just to mess with the die hards who might be listening in?

When we were at DTD a couple weeks ago, a woman asked a bus driver which bus went to the theme parks from DTD and he said none did. I don't trust bus drivers for park info, but I would hope they can be trusted for bus info. There were buses going to the water parks.

I would imagine many people have used pools at different resorts without being questioned, therefore they assume it's okay, like pool-hopping at Universal Studios' deluxe resorts. The way that everyone talks about "resort hopping," I would have assumed it was okay until I specifically read otherwise from trusted sources.

BTW, even those trusted sources on disboards can be "wrong" because of a change in policy or, especially, inconsistent policies. The concierge at POR, for example, would not assist us with will call ticket pick-up. She did strongly encourage us to pick up hard tickets as back-up to our MB.

We've also had experiences that might make us think certain things are always true -- for example, no direct monorail to MK is available when you arrive at TTC very early so for us the monorail "always" stops at resorts, except that cold morning a couple years ago when they bused us all to the MK, telling us the monorail "doesn't run in this weather." :confused3

I've been tempted.

A funny story. A young member of my family used to refer to the "Swan and Dolphin" as the "Fish and Duck". It became a running joke. On day on the bus, as we were passing by and making the joke among our large extended family group, a lady felt the need to butt in and correct us.

We all just laughed, all 13 of us!

We also use inside shorthand names - amongst ourselves. It will always be the "WEDway PeopleMover" to us, no matter what the sign says. We also used shorthand "MGM" long after it became the much-more-of-a-mouthful "Hollywood Studios." It will also always be "Cindy's Carrousel."

There are others. It's the "Tiki House", and "eat at the Poly" means "'Ohana" by default. If we mean Kona Café, we'll say "Kona."

It's not "some," it's ONE location. So still misinformation to say you can make ADR's for quick service locations.

Somewhat unrelated to the OP...

Many years ago my daughter and I heard some little boy talk about the "terror of tower" by mistake so to this day my entire family calls it "Terror of Tower" - we haven't been corrected yet but you should see people give us funny looks!

It never ceases to amaze me how obnoxious some threads get on this board. people are so condescending here sometimes.

Last week, I saw this gem on the Moms' Panel:

Hello Panel! I understand that on-site guests may make FP+ reservations 60 days in advance, but can you schedule your whole trip on that day like you can with dining? Also, what time of day can you start reserving? Thanks so much!
- Asked by Alyssa from Ohio on 4/8/2014
Hi there, Alyssa!

Thanks so much for stopping by the Moms Panel with this great question!

With all of the recent changes and updates on FastPass+ reservations, I called and spoke with a Cast Member to find out the exact details.

I'm so excited to tell you that as a Guest of one of the Walt Disney World Resort hotels, you are able to make FastPass+ reservations not only 60 days in advance, but you can also schedule them up to 10 days into your vacation! Once you've connected your Resort reservation within your My Disney Experience account, the system will recognize you as an on-site Guest and will allow you to book those easily! If you are wanting to reserve FastPass+ for extremely popular experiences like the Meet and Greet with Anna and Elsa from Disney's Frozen, I suggest making those reservations toward the end of your trip for a better chance at getting a good time!

As for the time of day, you are able to start reserving FastPass+ at 6:00 a.m. Eastern.

I sure hope this helps, Alyssa! Wishing you the best of luck on getting exactly what you're hoping for!

Have a Pixie Dusted vacation!

What's six hours between friends? There's no reason to be "exact" or "technical" when it comes to a question about what time something occurs.

Call me crazy, but all of that is correct except for the time right? I thought that this WAS how it worked when I scheduled our FP+'s this past Sept. What am I missing? What time can you start making the FP+ ressies? I don't remember from our last trip.:confused3:confused3

It's the time that's wrong. Up until this week when A&E FPs became more plentiful, that six hours made a big difference. Also, the person's question asked about the time, so it wasn't just a case of providing extra info that happened to be mistaken.

We call them the Fish and Duck a lot of the time too. Can't remember if that was started by my DD when she was 2, or by my FIL. ; EPCOT will always be the park with the big golf ball. I'm sure we have driven people listening to us crazy- "look you can see the golf ball from here" "let's take a picture in front of the golf ball", "let's meet by the golf ball", "let's go ride the golf ball" etc.
