I hope your back is feeling better soon. I am just getting over a bad lower back so truly I can feel your pain. Probably the stress from your job didn't help the situation either. Go and get some meds. Really they help. Also they had me ice my lower back for 20 minute intervals. Not comfortable but it helps. Sorry you're in pain.

My back is feeling much better today :Pinkbounc which means DH and I can go for a walk tonight (yeah!). Tonight will be the first night we can go home and have nothing else we have to do or worry about. Yippie! We are going to go home and veg on the couch watching some TIVO'd items that we've missed this week. I'm going to make some Heroin Wings for dinner (a favorite!) and veg in my Grand Floridian Robe (if it isn't to hot)

Plan for today:
B: Mexican Wontons - a lady brought them into work and they are so tasty. I am estimating 10 carbs for 3 of them.
L: ?? Perhaps grilled fish and greenbeans. Or a cheeseburger
D: Heroin wings and veggies.

Exercise: 30 minute walk.

I'm going to try to catch up on journals today - I know that I am way behind.

I only have a minute, but I wanted to pop in & say:

:flower1: HAPPY FRIDAY!!! :flower1:

Your back is feeling better! Friday's here & you've got a clear schedule tonight! WOO HOO!!!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow as I wear my Princess hat to walk in Doylestown with Erin and some other WISHers!!

I hope you have a fantabulicious weekend!! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Amanda, you asked about the bag & season chicken.

Here's a link I just found for McCormick's Bag & Season stuff - lots of yummy recipes I'll have to try!

http://www.mccormick.com/content.cfm?id=10147

Here's the chicken seasoning that I used last night.

http://www.mccormick.com/productdetail.cfm?id=6003

Of course, I just looked at the ingredients and they probably wouldn't pass the pure low carb test but I've used several of these for pork, chicken & beef and have never had a problem with them. The meat comes out so moist because of the oven bag you cook it in - delish!!

Enjoy!

 Happy Monday, Amanda! I hope you're off to a good, healthy start. Enjoy your day and be kind to yourself.

Hi Amanda,

How was your weekend? I hope all is well, and that you have a fabulous Monday.

Hi everyone! Wow it is late to be getting here. I had a very busy and hectic weekend the words "low carb" were not in my vocabulary.

Saturday night I gave a bachlorette party that ended up being a huge disaster - thank goodness for alcohol sometimes! And Sunday we had 3 places to go for mother's day including the hospital where DH's grandmother was admitted. She is not doing well so if you could all keep her in your prayers we would appreciate it.

I'm doing okay - my diet stinks at the moment but otherwise I am hanging in. My goal is training for the marathon and so far so good! We are going walking tonight after dinner and after it cools down a bit. I went and saw my Dr. today for my annual check up who says according to her chart I've lost almost 15lbs and that I am doing great.

I'll be back more tomorrow - things are just crazy her. Remember I am thinking about all of you!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda! Hats off to you for getting your exercise /training in! As you know, that is a really tuff area for me, so I really admire you for getting it done! ::yes::
I hope things calm down a bit for you. Sure seems like you've been very hectic this last week or two. I know that makes it difficult to stick with a healthy eating plan as well.
I will keep DH's grandma in my prayers. I hope all is well with her.

I hope you have a great day today! :sunny:

Sharon I will probably not have a calm weekend until Memorial Day weekend. With the upcoming wedding, and trying to get our business started it is just eating up a lot of our time. I took a half day from work yesterday to go to the Dr. and when I got home I absolutely crashed for about 2 hours. I am very sleep deprived at the moment because when I'm stressed I tend to not sleep very well.

Last night DH and I had a great walk/run. We did it for about 40 minutes I think and it is just so great to get out of the house and work together on this. I'm looking forward to Wednesday when we do it again.

My plan for today is not the best plan since the cupboard is starting to get very very bare.

B: Skipped - I wasn't hungry this morning anyway and overslept (again lack of sleep)
L: ??? Not sure yet - I may just go home and mix some Cauliflower, broccoli, and cheese together and eat that.
D: Chicken and Rice - I know rice isn't allowed but it is fast to make and I can mix in some broccoli in it. We have a meeting tonight so I won't have time to cook 2 meals.
Exercise: Rest day.

I'm hoping to get to some of your journals today!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda,

Sorry I haven't been around lately. real life getting in my way. You are really busy, but you need to take care of yourself. You've got too much to do to get sick. Try to schedule a short nap this weekend. I know I'm  . Have a great Wednesday,
Beth

Morning All! DH and I are taking a mental health day today. We really really needed it so we decided to call in sick and spend the day at home. We layed around in bed until 11a.m. this morning and it was fabulous. We have so many things that need to be done that we have been putting off doing. Our house looks like a bomb went off in it, the laundry has piled up for 2 weeks now, and the entire place needs to be dusted. We were suppose to keep this coming Sunday to ourselves but now it looks like we have to go meet FIL for breakfast on Sunday. Augh. So I'm really glad we called in today so that we could have some time to fix the things we've been putting off.

Yesterday was a total flop food wise and I"m not sure how to get back on track. I've been missing my carby foods a lot more then I thought I was. I'm going to try to be extra good today although I will admitt to having some toast with jelly this morning for breakfast. The scale is up to 155lbs although yesterday it said 153 lbs so that could be water weight since I haven't been drinking my water. So today it will be water, better food choices, and our 30 minute walk/run. We have no plans for the entire day except to go pick up my ring from the jewler (I was having the fittings tightened).

~Amanda

Good for you and DH!! Sometimes we all need one of those mental health days!!::yes::
I hope you can get back on track with your food. I know what you mean about it being difficult, but it will pay off for you. And once you get back OP, the next day is a little easier, and the next and so on. Plus, with the extra exercise you are doing for your training, eating OP could really help you move that darn scale. But if you can't stay OP because of other committments (wedding, work.....), then don't fret too much. At least the walking/training is a BIG positive!!!:Pinkbounc One step at a time Amanda, one step at a time!!
I hope you get lots accomplished today so that you aren't feeling quite so overwhelmed by everything!:smooth:

I did not like what the scale had to say this morning. Augh! So I am walking the straight and narrow today!

B: 2 sausage patties,
L: Chicken Ala Amanda,
S: Coffee with sugar free syrup and half and half,
D: Grilled Chicken breast and greenbeans

I'm drinking my water, and going to the bathroom every 10 seconds, I'm also training someone today so I won't be around the boards much - I'll try to make it up tomorrow guys. You are all in my thoughts though!

~princess: Amanda

Amanda, how do we get so busy??? My life seems to be the same way and it doesn't help me stay OP! Do the best you can, OK? When I'm exhausted, I have zero willpower and will grab whatever is fast and comforting - almost never low-carb!

I think taking a rest day was a good move but make sure to treat yourself right so you don't get run down again. Maybe DH will give you a backrub before bed to help you fall asleep or take a hot bath before bed.

 and :sunny:

So far so good today. Dinner is a little higher in carb then I should have had but not all together a bad day. It was a chicken and rice dish with cheese and broccoli as well. I also had a snack size Twix bar, I had a chocolate craving due to Aunt Flo arriving today. Tomorrow is Friday and I am looking at yet another weekend filled with things I would rather not be doing I can't wait for Memorial Day weekend when I will finally have some time for myself. I'm going to do a little scrapbooking tonight and then take a long hot bath.

~Amanda

  Amanda,

I'm sorry to hear that you have been having a hard time. You did the right thing taking that mental health day. You are doing a great job with your HM training. You also did a good job with your eating today, especially since Aunt Flo arrived. Here's some :wizard: to help you through Dzone.

I hope you can sleep,
Beth
