Amanda's Menu Planning Spectacular!

I need to count carbs for the day so that I can stay on track tonight. Good news - no going out to dinner tonight so I can definately get my workout in this evening! No excuses!

B: 3 carbs
S: 1.5 carbs
L: 7 + 1 + 1 + 3 + 3 = 15 carbs

Total today: 19.5

Plenty of room left for dinner tonight. I tried eating a little more at lunch today because I've been hungrier lately - not really a big deal since I'm always a bit hungrier during Dzone and right before a big whoosh. I'm hoping for a whoosh!

I think I ate to many of those Peanut Butter cheesecake balls yesterday. Didn't go over in carbs but evidently my sweet tooth was looking for somethig. Thank Goodness I had some on hand.

I am hoping for an easy and :sunny: day. I did 3/4 of my Firm tape yesterday - I just didn't have the energy to finish it. Last night I made a Lasagna using deli turkey slices as the noodles. It was delicious! Of course I won't be able to make it all that often because I had to use a low carb tomato sauce.

Today's plan:
B: Yogurt - 14 carbs and nuts - 2 carbs = 16 carbs
L: Canjun Fish and Green Beans = 4 carbs
S: Sugar Free Jello = 0 carbs
D: Left over Lasagna.

~Amanda

Sounds like you'll be off to a great start today! Hope it goes smoothly for you!

Keep up the good work!

 Peanut butter/cream cheese balls? Sounds like I could definitely lose control of myself on those babies. YUM!
I might have to make myself a plate full and see. . .:p

Amanda, you're doing so well. Keep up all the great work. Your goals have inspired me and so has your :sunny: attitude! Thanks for all the encouragement you so freely give.

Have a good weekend and stick to your healthy living path and you'll be seeing the WHOOSH you so deserve in a few days. . .

I met the enemy last night my friends. It's name is Pizza - and it whipped my butt like a 4 year old girl with pigtails.

Yesterday was most definately NOT cheat free. I knew we were in trouble when our plans changed. This is only the 2nd day this month that I have "cheated" So I have been 83% cheat free for the last 12 days. I have to admitt it did feel good to not be cheat free yesterday. I just sorta ate what I wanted to and wasn't stressing about the carb factor. Now of course I can't live every day like this but it is nice to have these little "treats now and again.

We have dinner plans tonight with friends. Mexican - my favorite! I had originally planned to not be cheat free tonight but after last nights little episode I feel that I need to get back on track TODAY. So my goal is to be cheat free for the day. We are trying a new mexican place so it gives me the perfect excuse to try something new. I'm thinking chicken fajitas hold the tortilla's please!

B: Turkey and Cheese Roll ups - 4 carbs
L: Left over Turkey Lasagna - ?
S: Peanut Butter balls - 3
D: Fajitas no Tortillas

As long as I stick to my plan and drink lots of water today I should be fine. The challenge will be sticking to my plan. I've already got the water started and as soon as DH gets up I'll be doing one of my Firm tapes.

~Amanda

Exercise is done! I'm glad that I got through it and made myself do it. It was the Maximum Cardio Burn tape with Allie. So far she is my favorite instructor on my tapes. I think I am going to save this tape for the weekends because it is really really intense and I don't think I could get all the way through it after a long day in the office.

Breakfast is done and the carb count was only 2 after reading the labels. And I am currently drinking some Lemonade Crystal Light while eating my lasagna. I think it is going to be a great day!

I stuck to my plan. I ate at the Mexican Resturant with no tortillas and only had about 3 chips with salsa. Otherwise I stuck completely to my plan today and I am feeling awesome about it! Yeah for me! I did have an extra peanut butter cheesecake ball this afternoon but since they have so little carbs in them it won't throw me off.

I'm rolling over my bear!

:teeth: I am just so proud of me for yesterday!::yes:: It is a rare thing that I go out to eat and avoid all the yummy high carb items that I can't have.

I know I am going to be cheat free today! For breakfast I grilled diced ham and mushrooms together and then smothered it with cheddar cheese. Very yummy for about 5 carbs. I'm out of eggs until Friday so I'll me coming up with some interesting menus until then.

Lunch I'm thinking leftover Lasagna again (yummy) and for dinner we are taking my Dad out for his Birthday to either O'Charley's or Applebees - either place I can get a steak or grilled chicken.

Today is a rest day for exercise!

hey amanda, i see that you're so proud of you for doing so well at the mexican place yesterday, and i'd like ot add that i'm so proud of you as well!!! :bounce: like you said, it would have been so easy to use a new place as an excuse to try something new and high carb, but you didn't! you got right back on track after your cheat day, and stuck to your plan. great job :hyper:

hope the rest of your day goes well, and that you have a great dinner out tonight for your dad's birthday :teeth:

I had a lot to eat today but all of it within limits
B: Mushrooms, ham, and cheese
L: Cheeseburger (no bun)
S: 2 peanut cheesecake balls and slice of Gouda Cheese
S: 1 piece of thin crust pizza (4" square)
D: Grilled chicken breast with cheese and bacon. Garden Salad with full fat dressing, and shrim and cheese dip (no chips). Diet Soda.
S: 1/2 cup of no sugar added custard.

Not sure of the official carb count but I am counting the day as cheat free since most of my choices were good ones(the pizza is debateable).

Good Morning! I am wearing my first pair of goal pants today! I need to get another pair. Anyone know where I can buy measuring tape to measure myself every week? I have a feeling with building all this muscle with the firm that I am going to have to calculate inches as well as weight loss. Speaking of building muscles - I have a bicep! It is tiny but there! :teeth: :wave2: there little bicep!

Plan for today:

B: Ham and cheese omelet
L: Either Tuna Salad or Fish and Veggies
S: Peanut butter and celery sticks
D: Steaks, and some grilled veggies like peppers and mushrooms I think.
E: Exercise is Complete Cardio with Weight Training.
Water: Needing to get a lot in since I didn't drink very much of it over the weekend. Although I did mostly stick to crystal light.

~Amanda

You're off to a great start for today!

I think you can buy measuring tape at any sewing or fabric store. If you have any around your area, check those places out.

Best of luck for your continued success!! Aren't goal pants great?!?!

Have a great Monday!

::yes:: Yep, I see it: a little bicep peeking it's way out. :wave2:

Amanda, congrats on the goal pants--you go, girl! :Pinkbounc

Make it a great day,
Erin

Thanks Erin and Desiree - I am feeling really great about today and I will go buy a tape measure soon. I'm hoping before Wednesday which is my weigh in day.

Doing good today so far.
B: 6 carbs (good estimate)
L: 3 carbs
S: 4 carbs (if necessary
D: Steak (?) and veggies (?) - I'll have to check packages when I get home.

I've decided that if I stick to being 80% or more cheat free for the month then I am going to award myself with 2 books that I have been wanting for awhile. One is a Nora Roberts book and the other one is about Harry Potter. I plan on buying new Jeans in May when I buy some new summer clothes. Hopefully I'll be down to the 140's by then. I don't even care if it is 149!!!

Right now I have been cheat free 12 days out of 15 which is 80% right now. Tonight will be night 13 so I'll be at 86% so I am doing so far so good. This week is the week that TOM hits but I have lots of stuff around the house to distract me from eating sweets and sugar. After that it is smooth sailing. There is nothing that I can't tackle!

I know I haven't been around to journals today - I'll try to get some tonight

~Amanda

Where is the :sunny: ? It is so gross, gray, and wet here in St. Louis today. I'm ready for spring!

Yesterday was a cheat free day! yippie! And I got my exercise in which is another Yippie! for me. :)

I have to work late tonight and they are going to serve pizza. Augh. I think I am going to run to subway and pick up a wrap rather then try to avoid the pizza all night. But I haven't decided anything yet. Another plan is to eat a late lunch and just pick off some toppings with the pizza. We shall see.

B: Natural Peanut Butter w/ Celery Sticks - 4 carbs. Sugar Free Jello - 0 carbs
L: I'll either go home and make something or I'll run to Subway and get a wrap either way avg of 10 carbs
D: ???? If I don't work to late (only an hour) then I'll just wait till I get home and make a cheeseburger.

~Amanda

You have a good day planned out so far! Keep up the good work on your cheat-less days!!!

Minor work vent:
I work in sales for a national bank. My work hours are from 8a.m. to 5p.m. I am never late, always take my hour for lunch, and leave on time. I don't work unnecessary overtime like some of my co-workers. My job is simple, I make the sale and close the loan once approved. Several of my co-workers concentrate to much on sales and not the closing part.

Today an email went out requesting everyone work 2 hours of overtime if they could. The dept would provide pizza for us and we were going to schedule closings. I call on my closings everyday so I am not one of the many in my department that are behind. I agree to workover time for one hour to help out.

I'm done with my hour when my manager comes up to me and says - Can't you stay longer? And starts to give me a guilt trip about it. This really made me mad. First of all I do my job, I don't slack so I don't see why I should have to work overtime to help slackers keep up. Secondly there was a month where I was not going to be paid comission because I didn't make all the objectives - no one on the company stood up for me even though I'm one of the best workers in the department, there were no exceptions for me and that is fine - those are the rules.

But I have my own set of rules - my job is from 8 to 5 Monday-Friday. My personal time starts at 5:01p.m. and that is my time. My time for family, friends, and mental health. I don't get to come in an hour late if "my time" runs over so I don't see why "My time" should be infringed upon with my job. Now yes I'll work late if there is something with my job that doesn't get done that needs to be done - that is my fault. But I don't think my managers should guilt trip me when I do my job well and everyday. I don't feel that I should have to make an exception for them when 1) they didn't for me and 2) if they had to this company would lay me off without a blink of the eye.

Am I the only person that feels this way? Am I wrong?

Today has not been cheat free and my attitude sucks to the point that I just don't care.

~Amanda

Okay I'm a bit :sunny: this morning - but it is taking effort. I'm still a little mad from last night.

I weighed in this morning and I was really nervous about it since I've had 2 days of cheating. But the scale is holding steady at 153 lbs - My TOM should arrive today or tomorrow and I'm hoping there will be a bit of a water flush with that and perhaps we'll see another pound drop or two.

Plan for today:
B: Peanut Butter and Celery Sticks - 4 carbs (my new favorite breakfast at the moment)
L: Left over Lasagna/Left over Steak/turkey and Cheese. Not sure what I'm in the mood for.
S: Sugar Free Jello - 0 carbs
D: I really don't have a clue. We may go out to eat - we may decide to stay home. Either way it will be a cheat free day today! I've already had 3 this month!

Exercise: Doing Strength Training tape tonight.
Water: I need to concentrate a bit on this today - I didn't get in as much yesterday as I needed to.

~Amanda

Amanda, I agree with you!! If your work was caught up, then you should not have been asked to stay! I think I'd suggest to the manager that he/she get a twice weekly report on sales and scheduled closings by salesperson, so that he/she is aware of any backlog early enough to prevent having to make EVERYONE work overtime just to bail out the slackers! That way the manager knows who the slackers are and can keep closer tabs on them (which means you'll be left alone and get to go home on time!). Why isn't real life as simple as all of my great ideas....LOL!!!

I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today. The scale will be your best friend by next weigh-in!! Hang in there, girlfriend! :happy1:

sheesh, amanda, that work situation absolutely sucks! (can i say sucks on the dis?? i hope so :p ). that is just not fair that you are being punished for everyone else's faults. i agree with you - you do your job, you get everything done, starting at 5:01, you should be off the hook. i'm sorry that that whole thing made you feel horrible and caused you to go off plan. but i am glad that you are feeling much better and you are right back on track :hyper:

oh, and since i've been missing for a while, i missed that you're in a pair of your first goal pants!!! :bounce: congrats on that! you'll be in your next goal pants before you know it :)

good luck for a cheat free day today, i know you can do it! hope you have a great day :sunny:
