Good morning, girlfriend. Are you happy it's Friday? :cool1: What kind of plans do you and Brian have for the weekend? Go out and kick up your heels--you've had a long week.

 for you, sweetie--
Erin

Here's some pixie dust to turn that blue to PINK :wizard: pink always makes me happy :) Have a fantastic Friday - hope you can get out and have some FUN!!!!!

Thanks for the pixie dust Mimi!

I'm feeling so-so today. I'm feeling fat and bloated. I guess now is a good time to tell everyone that I went off my birth control pills. I've been on them for 10 years now and I think my body is going through some hormone adjustments. Or at least that is what I'm telling myself ;)

I did okay yesterday 6/8 glasses of water, vitamins :), exercise :), but I didn't do well in food. I was fine until dinner when I made the suggestion to do Mexican. It wasn't a total wash but I would probably feel better today had I not eaten nachos. Tonight we are having our visit with another couple. We always rent a movie and eat pizza. I'm going to eat a small salad before we leave the house so that I'll limit myself to one or two slices. Plus I'll drink water rather then regular soda (all my friend buys).

I think over the weekend I really need to check out the South Beach Diet book again from the library. I know I am eating better then usual but I'm not eating as good as I could. It depresses me that my clothes don't fit :guilty: I need to gain control on the weekends of my eating habits - I need to get rid of the sugar free fudgesicles from the freezer.

I think I need some guidelines to achieve this June - I want to lose 5 lbs this month. Right now I weigh 169.

1. Curves 3 x's per week, walk 4.2 miles one time per week.
2. Water 6 to 8 glasses daily.
3. Follow S. Beach a bit more religiously
4. Give myself time to meditate/pray

June is going to be another busy month. My brother's and his girlfriends birthdays are all in June, Father's Day, my cousin's wedding, and Race for the Cure (5K).

If anyone knows any uplifting books - I could use them!

~Amanda

Amanda,

I'm feeling your "bloated" pain this morning...hang in there...THIS TOO SHALL PASS! :teeth:

I like your commitments...keep going, you're going to lose weight!!! :goodvibes

As for the hormonal thing....I suspect you are RIGHT ON THE MONEY! So, don't sweat it, things will be looking up in no time at all! :)

Jen

Hi Amanda!

I am sending a gentle  your way today. I hope you are having a great day! :flower:

You asked about uplifting books.... A few months ago, I read Your Best Life Now by Joel Osteen and it is a very encouraging and uplifting book! Joel Osteen is the pastor at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas and his sermons are broadcast all over the world. He is one of the most positive, encouraging people I have ever heard speak. ::yes:: His book is an excellent read, but I have found the companion journal to be much more helpful because it gives you a place to record your thoughts about what Joel is talking about. I got the journal for Mother's Day from Walmart and it cost around $10. The title of the journal is Your Best Life Now Journal: a Guide to Reaching Your Full Potential by Joel Osteen. If you have any questions about it, please feel free to ask. ::yes::

I hope you have a restful and relaxing weekend. :cloud9: Take good care of you, Amanda!

Hi Amanda,

I totally agree with you. Your hormones are in flux, and it will take a bit of time to adjust. You have a great plan for June, and I know you can stick to it.

I hope you havea good weekend,
Beth

As yet more motivation I have attached a picture of us from day 1 of our cruise. The first time I looked at this picture I could not believe how skinny I look.

I am giving myself some time to think over the weekend about how I want to start Monday off. Looks like I will be having one hell of a work schedule Mon-Wens and I am trying to remain positive.

This is gonna be long.

So I've been doing some thinking tonight. Poured a big glass of red wine and took a nice hot bubble bath. I've got a lot on my plate, to much in fact. I'm dedicated to my job, I'm dedicated to my second job, and I'm dedicated to spending time with my husband. That's alot. LOL! I will admit that I am self-ish in my time and that in order to to get the things that I want, I need to make a compromise. So here it is.

Mondays and Wednesday I will wake up at 6a.m. and go to Curves. I will also continue to go either Thursday or Friday nights. Saturday Mornings I will get up at 8a.m. to go for a walk. This is my new exercise schedule. This will allow me to come straight home after work Mon-Wens and spend much needed time with DH.

I will cut back on snacks and add in fruit. Yes I like things that are sweet but that doesn't mean I should eat low carb ice cream everynight. Instead I should eat fruits.

I have decided to relax a bit on my food goals. Which means I will try to eat balanced meals. I will allow myself one treat a week of pizza.

I am going to learn to tell people NO. We get invited to a lot of stuff, and I need to except that I can't make it all.

I am hoping that with exercise 4 x's per week, and with a balanced meal plan that I will be able to lose 5 lbs this month. At the end of the month I will see how this worked out and make adjustments from there.

~Amanda

Hmmm, sounds like a plan to me! :cool1: Some bubblebath and wine therapy seems to have produced some good thoughts on taking care of YOU! :goodvibes Did you make it to Curves this a.m.?

One day, one pound at a time, Amanda. The name of the game is wellness and it sounds like you're on your way!

~Amanda

Good Morning! It is going to be Hot and Muggy today. :faint: At least we haven't gotten to the three H's of St. Louis, Hot, Hazey, and Humid. :)

Yesterday I did great! I avoided sweets and had fairly balanced meals. So no complaints here! I did not get all my water in though drinking only 4/8 glasses. I think I need to stop drinking a glass of red wine before bed because the last 2 nights I've had some really intense dreams and am not sleeping well.

Plan for today:
Exercise - Rest Day :)
Vitamins - I'll take with breakfast
Water - 8 glasses
Food:
b: yogurt and bannana
l: BBQ Chicken, green beans, and 8oz of milk
s: Strawberries
d: I'm thinking BBQ Pork Steaks, Veggie, and baked potato. 8 oz of skim milk

Well I'm off to hit some journals!

~Amanda

Hi Amanda!

Sounds like you have some Florida-type weather going on in St. Louis. :sunny: ::MickeyMo :teeth: It's supposed to be hot and humid here all week too. Finally! :teeth:

That's a great picture of you and Brian in your signature. :teeth:

Have a great day today! :flower:

I'm coming over for lunch today. . .I like your chicken better than my tuna. Save me some if I'm late, OK? :teeth:

Your :sunny: mood is just radiating from your journal this morning, Amanda! Have a healthy day--

Take care,
Erin

Hey Amanda - I love that picture of you and Brian also. You guys are too cute :earsboy: :earsgirl:

I am SO glad not to be living in St Louis anymore. I hated the summers there (darn mosquito's) Of course I hated the winters there too

Drinking wine before bed? Bad girl! ;)

It sounds like your re-evaluating your program and life, which is a good thing to do once in awhile. This is a great time to be eating fruit and I know I'll be adding more of that into my diet. My girls love it too, so less cooking for me ;)

Did you ever get those pics of the menus? Were you able to read any of them? I wish I had taken better pictures :guilty:

Have a good week!!!

Tera the pictures look great - check your email.

Well up and at 'em this morning at 5:45a.m. - I know some of you are unimpressed but this is a big deal for me. I was at Curves at 6:05a.m. and am already done with my workout.

Yesterday was a LONG day and I did end up crashing at the end of it. My poor DH. I did great for the most part although I did indulge in 2 cookies at the office. I was STARVING at5:30 and I didn't get dinner till 8pm. Tonight I'll be sure to pack a snack!

Plan for today:
b: 1 piece of toast w/Peanut Butter, low fat yogurt
l: Cheeseburger, celery sticks and red peppers dipped in ranch dressing, 8 oz. of milk
s: strawberries
5:30- bannana/sesame seeds/string cheese/
d: I won't get home till 8pm tonight - so I'll probaby whip up a fried egg sandwich w/red peppers and cheese.

Exercise - Curves :)
Water - 6 to 8 glasses, already have 2 gone
Vitamins - take them when I get to work.

~Amanda

:wave2: Good morning, Amanda! Your menu for today sounds good! It's making me hungry, actually! :p Congratulations on getting up early and getting to Curves--that's got to take a lot of discipline. I get up early like that because I HAVE to, not because I'm inwardly motivated! :p Way to go, girl!

Have a good Wednesday. Go drink some water.
Erin
