No worries, sweetie - you'll get time later to get the exercise in. In the meantime, take as much time as you can to rest and recoup your strength. Working out now would NOT be helpful to you.
Please nurture yourself - bubble bath, a good book, that fluffy GF robe - ahhhhh.....
Nothing like a 13 hour work day to keep you feeling like a wet rag. I am way to tired to even try and keep track of what I'm eating. To be honest it really hasn't been that bad but I just can't seem to focus on anything. I've got another 12 hour day ahead of me and I'm just hoping to make it through. Thankfully a cool front has moved in and has made the heat manageable again
Good morning, Amanda. I'm thinking of you as you do the battle of the 12 Hour Days. Try to do little nice things for yourself--like Doreen said: bubble baths, GF robe, or maybe a fresh flower on your desk. This, too, shall pass.
Yikes - sorry you are on long days. We do longer days in the summer so we can have Friday's off and the university saves some money on the utilities - I like having the Friday's off but the long days really get to you. Hang in there!!!!
So yesterday was not as exhausting as Tues was, but I did not make healthy choices. I guess I am just going to have to accept that some weeks exercise is not even a possibility and learn to not beat myself up about it, and also to not let everything else go because of it.
I'm trying to be back on the healthy living road today. No exercise - I'm going to "try" and get in a walk on Saturday or maybe Friday after work. I think I'm going to go with Doreen's strategy and just halve everything.
Plan for today:
Water: 8 glasses - I've been so bad about this!
Vitamins: Taken Happy to report I've been good about this.
Food: Healthy Choices
b: ?
l: Low carb spaghetti
s: Peach or Grapes
d: If I get to go out for dinner I will get a salad and low carb dish. The place we are going is great about this. If I end up having to go into work, then I will probably grab something fast on the way home. Maybe a low carb burger from Hardees.
Exercise: Not a chance!
= extra energy pixie dust (just in case you're running low!) Sprinkle liberally when you're getting that wet wash rag feeling. Oh, and if anyone else annoys you, throw some at 'em!!
Seriously, hang in there today and rest in the knowledge that the weekend is on its way!
Just do the best you can - you don't have to be perfect. Your best is always good enough.
I'm thinking of your schedule, Amanda, and am totally impressed that you even care about what you eat. That shows a lot of commitment to healthy living, if you ask me. You're trying, and that's all that matters.
Well yesterday could have been better but I decided to give myself one more day of non-thinking.
recap:
Water - 5 glasses (better)
vitamins
exercise - like I said, not a chance.
Food:
b: coffee
l: low carb spaghetti
s: 3 pretzels
d: chicken quesidilla, 2 margarittas, 2 scoops of cappacino chip ice cream.
plan for today:
Water: 8 glasses
exercise: May take Sarah (the dog I am sitting) for a 2 mile walk when I get home.
vitamins: As soon as I get to work.
food: Not a clue. I'm just going to make healthy choices today, I'm not going to worry about carb content.
I like your plan! It's the end of a long week. Take the day as it comes and don't sweat the carb counts.
I hope you've got an easy-going weekend planned so you can REST!! Yes, I put that in all caps - REST!!! I think Mom-mode is getting the better of me! Gather your strength for next week, OK?
Just had to jump in and say I've been enjoying the "greatest hits" of your sig pics over the last couple weeks. Can I lobby for the DCL one back? That one made me look forward to our turn next May!
Glad your week is over Amanda and on to a better week next week - you've done well with your food and getting your water in even though you haven't been able to exercise. At least you are trying and not giving up!!!!!
