Amanda's Heading to the Beach Journal! Feedback Welcomed!

Dear Amanda, if anyone needs a Friday party it is YOU!!

:jumping1: :rockband: :jumping1:

You've had one heck of a week. You're in the homestretch now, though! :cheer2:

I truly hope that your weekend includes some relax time. You NEED it! My Mom-mode is kicking in and warning you that you can only burn the candle at both ends for so long. REST! :teeth:

Love ya, mean it!

My scale moved in the wrong direction :guilty: however! I am telling myself that this to shall pass and that I know what I need to do to move it back in the right direction. I indulged yesterday, way more then I should have. I also yelled at 2 of my manager yesterday  Oh yea, that was a good idea.

Today I am focusing on the positives! I have a lunch meeting with a friend of mine about teaming up together to do some work. It is at Qdoba so I need to go online and take an early look at the menu. I've decided that I am going to Curves tonight. I was going to skip it, but I really need to go.

Plan for today:
Water: 8 to 10 glasses of water. 5/8 done so far
Vitamins: just took them.
Exercise: Curves
Food: 30 carbs or less (Or at least I'll try  )
b: 3 slices of bacon and string cheese - 2 carbs
l: half of a chicken taco salad w/o shell!
d: ??? I think Brian might be eating pizza rolls, and I'll be eating Artichoke dip and celery sticks.

To do list:
1. Go to the ATM
2. Go to the Library and pay fines
3. Plan meals for Saturday.

~Amanda

The Quesidillas and tacos at Qdoba look so good! But I went with the taco salad so that I could proudly post to you guys that I am remaining low carb today!

~Amanda

Hey Amanda- yeah, hit Curves tonight, then take it easy for the weekend. Try to forget the scale and focus on how you feel. You have enough frustrations at work. You may not be able to control that situation, but you can make yourself feel better :)

Ya know, even though I was a cheerleader in a past life, I don't think I'm very good at pep talks. Nevertheless, have a great Friday and weekend!

Friday recap:

Saturday recap:
Nothing!

Sunday recap:

Good Morning! Well it the start of the last 2 weeks of the month and I haven't dropped a pound. In order to meet my goal of 5 lbs this month I'll need to lose 2.5 lbs this week and next week. The good news is that I think this is doable. I'm just going to have to be strict with myself. This week I've already mapped out a plan to keep me on track. Next week will be a bit more difficult.

Plan today:
Water: 8 glasses - 4/8 down! I know I did at least 6, can't remember if I did 8 - giving myself the :) anyway!
Vitamins: w/breakfast :)
Exercise: Curves after work. - Gave myself a rest day after a long day at work:)
Food: 30 carbs
b: 3 egg omelet with green peppers, mushrooms, ham, and cheese - 5 carbs
l: leftover Chicken kabobs - est 8 carbs
s: String cheese - 1 carb
d: Low carb meatloaf (forgot the carb count) 5 carbs
s: no sugar added ice cream: 8 carbs
total: 27 carbs :)

Exercise schedule this week:
Mon: Curves
Tues: Curves
Wens: 2 mile walk.
Thurs: Rest Day
Fri: Curves
Sat: 4 mile walk.

1:15pm update
so far so good. I've stuck to my menu plan and I've got my cheese stick here for my 3pm snack. I'm feeling a little sluggish so I'm off to have a diet soda. Work is also going well today which is good!

~Amanda

9:30 edit
I seriously cannot remember my water count. I know for sure I did 6 glasses before I left work. But I can't remember if I drank a glass of water before dinner.......... My workday got very stressful this afternoon and I forgot my gym bag  so I decided to go home and chill out. I think this really helped me from binging this evening. I was in the bathroom today like a pregnant woman! Hopefully I'll see some lbs gone in the morning.

~Amanda

I am happy to report that I am down a pound this morning :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: that put a big smile on my face :p

Last night I sat down with my trust planner and I outlined a plan for the next 2 weeks. I have to find a balance between exercise and the work that I need to be doing. I think I've found something that is managable. This will get easier as time goes along. I'm thinking in August of not going to Curves so that I can concentrate on training for the half marathon.

Plan for today:
Exercise: Curves
Water: 8 glasses
Vitamins: w/Breakfast
Food: 30 carbs or less
b: half crossant with eggs, ham, and cheese - 10 carbs per fitday.
l: leftover Chicken Kabobs- 5 carbs
d: leftover meatloaf - 5 carbs
s: Turkey sausage and cheese w/mustard, one glass of red wine. - ?

I have friends coming over tonight to keep me company while DH is out of town. It will be a nice relaxing evening.

Hopefully work will be a bit easier today. Yesterday was good in the morning, but bad in the afternoon.

~Amanda

:wave2: Good-bye, pound! Amanda doesn't want you back around here ever again!

It sounds like you've got focus and a plan for the next two weeks. I know that you can do this! Take it one day at a time and in 14 days you'll be 5 lbs. lighter and will have met your goal. Do it, girl!

Have a good Tuesday,
Erin

Oh dear, ambitious Amanda! You sound ready to take this half marathon training by storm! I'm not sure I'm up to it! You can finish in record time, and I'll stroll across the finish line an hour later, OK?? :teeth: I used to have such motivation but I think it has gone on vacation...... :p

Hope today is a good one for you! :sunny:

9:51 edit:
I got munchy in the afternoon here. I think it was because I didn't eat much in the morning so that by the afternoon my body was really craving substance. Pluse I put off eating dinner till about 7:30 due to work so that made my cravings really bad when I got home.

I'm off to do some ab crunches and then bed!
~Amanda

Sounds like you had a good night and ROFL about the aspirin - too funny!!!!

Congrats on the pound gone!!!!

Keep on

 That is too funny!! It reminds me of that commerical from many years ago... How many licks does it take to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop? :teeth:

I hope you are feeling better today! Make sure you keep that aspirin handy and drink lots of water. :drinking:

Have a healthy and happy day, Amanda! :flower:

hang overs UGH, i'm too old for hang overs...i can't take it so i don't drink! :) lol, well that's not TOTALLY true, on occasion I have a margirita...however, only one, and only ONCE IN A WHILE...this old body can't take anymore than that! :teeth:

have a super day Amanda!!! I'm rooting for you...a BIG LOSS soon! HUGS

Jen :fish: ;)

I'll speak very softly and slowly

I hope you are feeling better soon. I'd be asleep after glass #3. :p

I agree that doing a training plan together would be much easier. Where do we begin???? Any ideas or should I break out my Marathoning for Mortals book and check the half marathon walk training plan?

Feel better soon, sweetie.

Gentle

Hi Amanda,

Sorry I haven't been around.

I hope that you are feeling a bit better tonight. Is it just me, or are wine hangovers the worst ones? You might want to try tylenol over the asprin. It is much easier on your tummy.

Get some rest sweetie,
Beth

Good morning, Amanda. I hope you're feeling better today. ;) Keep drinking that water and you'll flush yourself clean! :p

Have you noticed any loss yet? Keep fighting the good fight and you'll see results soon. . .particularly if you're doing ab crunches before bed every night!

Take care, girlfriend--
Erin

Thank you to everyone for stopping by and helping me get through my wine hangover! :wave2: It was a long day but I survived.

To answer Erin's question - I am still down a pound, but I need to lose 1.5 more by the end of the week to be on pace. I've got my fingers crossed.

I earned :) :) for water and vitamins yesterday. I did workout for about 10 minutes last night, concentrating on my abs, but I didn't go for a walk. It is just to hot!

Plan for today:
exercise: rest day
water: 8 glasses 8.8 :)
vitamins: w/breakfast
Food: 30 carbs! :)
b: eggs - 5 carbs
l: leftover meatloaf - 5 carbs
d: Chicken Marsala, Salad, one bread stick - ?
s: Low carb ice cream bar - 4 carbs

DH and I are going out for dinner tonight. I think I'll take a look at some menus to see if I can find anything yummy and low carb.

~Amanda

:sunny: Good morning, Amanda! :sunny:

I didn't get a chance to walk last night, so I'm officially starting tomorrow. I've got 2 miles on the calendar and I plan to get them in early in the morning, when it's cool and before I get sidetracked with a million other things to do! :teeth: I also put a picture of the St. Louis Arch on my desktop at work for inspiration! I hope to be a few pounds lighter when I come to visit in September!

I hope yesterday turned out to be a good day. I also hope you've got a good weekend planned, with some RELAX time in it! I don't think you and Brian ever sit still!!! :faint:

Make it a great day! :sunny:

Very! :badpc: Bad! :badpc: Scale! :badpc:

This morning I weighed myself 3 different times and got 3 different numbers! One low, One at current weight, and one 3 lbs higher! AUGH! So I'm not sure what my weigh in is -

Yesterday I did pretty good. We went to Olive Garden for dinner and I had Chicken Marsala - I made sure to ask if the chicken was breaded or not. I also had their salad (yummy!) and one breadstick. I drank all my water! :) So I am giving myself :) :) :) :) for vitamins, food, exercise, and water! Which is why the scale is so frustrating! :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

Plan for today:
Food: 30 carbs or less
b: 1 cheese sticks and a diet coke - 1 carbs
l: Leftover Chicken Marsala, added a slice of mozzarella cheese, and 1 peach
s: 1 cheese stick.
d: Low Carb Spaghetti! YUMMY!
Vitmains: just taken :)
Water: 8 glasses (2/8 so far)
Exercise: Curves after work and 10 minutes of Ab work.

I'm going to see if I can find any exercise DVDs for abs at the library. If I find any I like I may copy them.

~Amanda

Yum... chicken marsala is one of my favorites. That's what I'd always order on dates in college...so even if the date was a bust, I'd still have a nice meal. ;)

Stupid scale! Does your Curves have a scale? That's where I feel like I get my most accurate measurement.

Have a good week- I'm off to San Francisco where I'll be trying (hopefully not in vain) to avoid sourdough bread. :)
