Did anyone watch the Amanda Knox movie on Lifetime last night? What did you think? From the previews, I thought is was going to have an "Amanda is innocent" slant. Then after all the coverage on the news yesterday, that was not the case. I think they did a good job of showing the facts as they were discovered and letting the audience make their own decision. Their portrayal of her was very odd. As far as what I think, if she really said what she did in the police station to her italian roommate right after the murder....she is guilty. I am refering to the comment after her roommate said she hoped Meredith didn't suffer.

I haven't watched the movie, and am not sure if I will. I have followed the news stories, and I do not think she is guilty. There was no forensic evidence. THere was no motive for her or her boyfriend to kill her. If they had done it, their DNA and her blood would have been everywhere.

Nope, I think she is innocent.

I think she's innocent too (and NOt because I'm a Patriotic American). Too much blundering by the investigators and too little forensic evidence.

I will have to try and catch another showing of it. I'd followed a lot of her story and I guess I'm in the minority who believe she is guilty.

I enjoyed the movie but am still not sure how I feel about her guilt. While there really was not any hard evidence against her she acted so darn guilty, didn't she? Wonder what would have happened had she gotten on a plane back to Seattle like her mom told her to do.

I've been following the case from the news reports, and I think she is innocent. If they do not have any hard evidence on her by this point time, they need to let her go.

I am not sure about her guilt/innocence either. Most of the time I watch a movie and it is clear of their guilt or innocence. I didn't get to watch the Behind the Headline episode, will watch it on Saturday when it reairs.

I can't believe her parents could get 3 years for saying the police were abusive.

I actually though actress Hayden Panettiere played Amanda to T - great presentation of the bratty attitude and self-absorbed worldview of an inherently dislikeable person.

Yes, I can't understand anyone who likes Ms. Konx - but haven't come to any final conclusion about her actual guilt or innocence (leaning guilty but with some doubts).

I have, however, concluded most Americans really need to get up the learning curve about the Italian justice system and the context of this case before rushing to judgment. Too many people are making their calls based on an armchair, North American "law and order' mindset.

Maybe the link below can them:

I didn’t watch the movie. I totally forgot that it was on. When I lived in England in college there was a special about this case, kind of like 60 Minutes, and after I watched it I totally thought she did it. then I saw one made her recently and don’t think she did it.

It’s tough. I would like to think she didn’t do it and I feel bad this is all happening in another country. Her poor family. :sad1:

I watched the movie and most of what I know about the case, I learned from the movie. I think she was railroaded and she is innocent.

I watched it. I really don't think it slanted one way or the other. But they did portray her as a rather odd and uncaring person. The kissing and laughing in front of the memorial? But how are we to know how much of that is real? I recorded the special that was on after it, but I have not watched it yet.

I dvr'ed it and have only watched the first part. Very strange movie. Amanda Knox behaved very strangely through the murder and aftermath (if things are they way they were in the movie). It was just so odd how she acted.

The only thing I can think of is if she has a mental disorder. Narcissistic personality and she did it. Or maybe Asperger's? Her behavior was really really weird.

Many people here believe she didn't do it. I have no idea.

They won't just let her go. She went through a trial and was found guilty and sentenced to 26 years. We will see what her appeal will lead to.

I agree with the personality disorder. If nothing she was convicted for being strange. I don't know the particulars but I'm sure they will find out sooner or later.

As for the parents they committed libel, which is a punishable offense in Italy. Can you imagine if it was punishable here????

It's libel if it didn't happen. I believe it did happen and the cops did abuse her.

I have no idea why she was odd, but considering my roomate has never been killed in my apt and I have never been in her shoes, I have no idea how i would react. She was a kid. kids do stupid things and react as kids do. I think her actions were thrown way out of proportion. The facts are the forensics, and those do not prove that she was there, or her bf for that matter. The other guy...he did it alone...

Three of them were convicted. Amanda and her Italian boyfriend and a third person. (Guede) Guede was tried separately and first. His DNA is on the victim and IN her, due to a sexual assault. His DNA, to be blunt, is all over the crime scene. Yet the DNA of Knox and her BF is not all over. It's barely anywhere.

That's what I keep coming back to. Yes, you can clean up a crime scene and try to get rid of your DNA. But you can't selectively clean it up and get rid of the DNA of only two out of three of the murderers, while still leaving the DNA of the third murderer all over the place. You just can't. Common sense says there's a very good reason only one of those three has their DNA everywhere, while the other two don't. Only ONE was the killer.

As far as Knox's "confessions", I have little faith in confessions gained under such conditions, be they in Italy or the US. Question someone nonstop for days, with little sleep, let alone in a foreign language and we're supposed to believe in what they say? Puh-leeze.....Many people will say whatever you want after a decent stretch of that.

Once they got her to give them some story under duress and she retracted it, then they could paint her as "changing her story, covering her tracks." No matter what, she looked bad. And lord knows that goofy girl did not help herself by failing to see how serious the situation was and how much trouble she was in from the get-go.

What I learned from it was that if my child is ever studying abroad and is even half this close to a crime, I will get them on a plane home immediately. Amanda Knox is rotting in prison based on the most laughable, pathetic, miniscule "evidence" imaginable.

I agree completely! I have been following the case since the beginning and I do believe she is innocent. I think that she might have acted a bit strange during certain occasions, but that isnt a strong case for conviction. There just isnt enough evidence that she committed such a horrible crime.

I did not see the movie however there were interviews after that I did see. Before having watched the program I thought she was guilty from all of the US news stories that I had seen. Now I am not so sure. The fact as emom pointed out that Guede's DNA was everywhere while there was basically none from the other 2 is highly suspicious as was evidence that the polive would lose and then find. The judge hearing the appeal seemed smarter and less prejudiced towards Knox and her boyfriend than the original judge very obviously was.

Actually, your analysis omits another critical piece of conflicting evidence: countless forensic experts, including those who performed the autopsies on Kercher's body, have testified that more than one person killed her based on the size and location of her injuries and the fact that she didn't fight back—no hair or skin was found under her fingernails. The defense has confused matters more: Knox's forensic specialist testified that Kercher had been killed by only one person from the front, but Sollecito's expert testified that Kercher had been killed by one person from behind.

Watching it now.......I would hope this movie doesn't make the Italian officials hold more against the family.
IMO the movie is really bad timing.
