Amanda & Eric 03/03/10- WP/WHP/Sago Cay Centerpiece Ideas!

It's not so simple as just dying the dress. If it is polyester or acrylic it won't be dyeable. I can tell you that my David's Bridal dress I wore last year was polyester taffeta (from the separates collection), so I would have a hard time believing hers would be nylon or silk which can be dyed.

I know I said I would bow out after posting the last time but I wanted to let you know that her dress is probably not dyeable. I have read that David's is never to kind about returns or switching either so I wish you luck. I would suggest if you want to ditch the green that you buy her a new dress or at least see if she can sell the current one first. Either that or stick to blue and green. I really like those two together especially since you said your mom got her dress already (do I have that correct)?

Just a friendly suggestion and I am not trying to put you down just letting you know that changing colors of synthetic fibers is almost nearly impossible. The good thing about synthetic colors is that they never seem to bleed as much either :)

I know David's bridal does have a pretty strict return policy. So I doubt they'd let people return a dress just because they changed their colors. However, our David's was really nice. My cousin pushed her wedding back an entire year but I'd already purchased my bridesmaids dress. In that year, I gained weight (oops!) and the skirt (it was two pieces) was way too tight and couldn't be altered. They let me exchange it for a bigger size. Although I have heard that the David's here is really nice/good compared to a lot of others out there.

I hope you guys are able to figure something out. And I hope her dress wasn't too expensive in case you end up having to eat the cost of it. Eek!

OMG seriously????

I would never, in a million years, think of trying to DYE a green dress BLUE. :lmao: Ever...

This is my pj...I understand that everyone will post their opionions. But to those of you that have nothing better to do than to STALK my pj and report back to your snarky friends about every word I have said, well then I feel bad for you. Your opinions DO NOT MATTER to me. This is the internet for God's sake. If you have nothing better to do than spend you days being mean to people you don't even know, then that is really sad. Do what ever you need to but from here on out, mean and snarky posts will be put on Ignore.

I suggest that others do the same. We don't have to put up with this nonsense!

Oh and if you are wondering if this post is directed at you...it's probably not. Those people know who they are.

you tell em!!!! :worship:

plus if you want to change the colors you can. this is your day and if your not happy, then fix it so you are happy. :goodvibes

Are you talking to me because I asked if you were being serious or not? I hope not. I wasn't being snarky. I was seriously confused because sometimes sarcasm just doens't come across when typing.

Amanda, where did you get that nametag countdown thing if your signature? I want to make one for my upcoming trip.

Seriously, it's not like I bougth anything yet. Just Lauren's dress. And I have said for a very long time now, no matter what we are using green. That's why I bought it...and I bought it. So even if I did change my mind, I am not putting my friend out ANY money.

Ahhh.

WOW, people are stalking you??? That's just crazy.

I have never been mean or snarky. Honest? Yes. Opinionated? Yes However, you do realize that just because people have a different opinion, it doesn't mean they are snarky.

I have posted my opinions, because I honestly want you to have a nice wedding AND MARRIAGE. I think that outside opinions can be a GOOD thing. You obviously have trouble picking something a sticking with it (as evidenced by your multiple color choices, your numerous venue choices, and the complete mishmash of styles you have going on), so I was trying to help you. I took time out of my day to read your PJ and to give advice.

I honestly feel for those involved in your wedding; poor Jazzy is now going to be out even more money for another dress (unless you keep the color she has), Eric obviously doesn't get much of a say regarding anything, because if he did, he would have the yellow and green he wanted, his grandmother would be attending, and you wouldn't be here asking others what they think. Instead, you AND Eric would pick something and then stick with it.

I know you probably won't respond, as you seem to ignore what I have to say, but I wish you all the best.

Don't stress about the colors Amanda, all the color combos you've chosen are pretty. Just sit down with Eric and pick the ones you guys like the best, it's going to be beautiful. :)

Oh and I didn't think for a second your color the dress, it's my wedding comment was serious, it was obvious you were joking. Good one. LOL

I am mostly a lurker here so I apologize for my momment then. I sure didn't mean to upset you. I take text for face value unless a smilie is used. I was only trying to help. I think I will be back lurking picking up ideas for our VR next year.

I think Amanda said that she paid for Jazzy's dress. But I may have read wrong.

**************

Thanks! Although i'll probably be sad when I see just how many days it is until our trip! Haha! January is too far away.

I think Amanda said that she paid for Jazzy's dress. But I may have read wrong.

If that is the case, then I stand corrected. If Amanda did buy the dress, then she has every right to change the colors/styles as many times as she wants. However, if Jazzy is paying, then Amanda needs to pay for any changes.

Amanda, seriously though, you need to commit to something before you spend money on it. Granted, a $10 tie isn't much money, but you still wasted the money (unless of course, Eric likes to wear pink ties on a regular basis). You put deposits on things (ie. Randy) before you even had a contract (and look, you had to change the original date. You could have been out the money if Randy was unable to switch dates). You seem to have a problem of putting the cart before the horse, so to speak.

Holy crap, you sure have some choice people reading/commenting on here.

Anyways...I haven't commented in a while so I'm about to make up for it:

- Lauren's dress is beautiful & in a really gorgeous color. She looks nice in it too, which makes you such a nice bride that you didn't saddle your BM in a fugly dress. ;)
- Your hairpiece is gorgeous
- That note Eric left you is so sweet. :cloud9: I'd add that to a future wedding album or something if I were you.
- I have loved pretty much every single centerpeice idea you have posted on here. How in the hell are you going to narrow it down to one?!
- Those invitations are pretty!

And I think that's all I got for now.

Yes I did pay for her dress...which we aren't changing. I was just trying to make a point.

Can I be your stalker????

Man I miss a day and look at you ladies causing trouble!!! How could you even dye a green dress blue
:rotfl2:
Maybe you can form a club!! LOL.

Hey lady!! Thanks for the sweet thoughts! I love a lot of the centerpieces too. Once I sit down with Eric we will see what comes out of it. We have until the end of september to decide.

We haven't bought anything yet except Lauren's dress and the pink tie, lol. Which btw came today and is gorgeous!!! We'll see what Eric thinks when we talk tonight. There are just too many beautiful color options out there!!

Ok, all I have to say is...:lmao:

I check this thread this morning and there were no new posts and now a few hours later things have gotten crazy! Sorry I have been MIA for a while. I have had to work all week and weekend so I am exhausted and tend to just come home and sleep. After I get home today I don't have to work until Sunday though so yay!!:woohoo:

As far as colors go I think go with blue and green. It is so simply beautiful. I think that the pink was just becoming too bright and and almost distracting. When I google blue and green weddings so many gorgeous things come up. You will have an umlimited amount of options with those colors. I do think throwing in a third color was becoming too difficult.

Nice one with the dying my dress joke. I got a kick out of that!:thumbsup2 I'm glad you are deciding to just ignore those people out there who just want to annoy you. There is no time in life for people like that! Just enjoy planning your wedding:hug:

Ok...back to work I go!:sad1:

So I feel like crap this morning and am not being productive at work. I wish I would have stayed home.

Can't decide if I want to buy or make invitations. I am also starting to think I don't need 3 colors!! Can't figure out how to fit them in...2 would be much easier.

Anywhoo...I found these:

Let's see...what else is going on. Oh we are trying to book an engagment session with Randy but am trying to coordinate it with our PS too. Waiting to hear back from our Wedding planner!!

I forgot I wanted to comment on this earlier. I LOVE the greens and blues. You could do mostly those and then just add little touches of pinks here and there. We didn't really have a set color scheme for our wedding. Our invitations were basic...just cream colored with some silver on them. We had green bridesmaids dresses. The groomsmen just had black ties. The groom's tie was platinum. My flowers had blue, green, white, and a bit of pink. My bridesmaids had mostly white and pink. The decorations at the receptions were mostly green but not just one shade of green. Our centerpieces even had a touch of purple.

Basically what I'm saying is not all weddings need to have a set color scheme and be really matchy matchy.

I know some people would rather die than not have a "matchy" wedding but I guess my husband and I just aren't like that. I suppose we're a bit more eclectic in our tastes. So we just didn't tie ourselves to a specific theme for the wedding.

I think adding in little touches of pink can work really well with green and blue. However, I think it would need to be a more subtle pink, perhaps.

I posted this one someone elses PJ. The dress in the top left is the pink that would look nice. I'm not sure what that shade would be called. It's not hot pink but it's not pastel pink either.

color_palette_pink_and_green.jpg

I think that pink could easily be added into your bouquet or something.

I can't remember what shade of green Jazzy's dress is. What page of the thread is it on?

I really like the green and blue, and you could always still have hot pink, just let it be less used than the other 2. Also, remember, the flowers and everything won't all be exactly your colors, so there will be different shades mixed in of whatever colors your choose. I think using hot pink for the mickey crystals in bouquet and bout would be really cute.

Just did a double take, thinking - that's not my signature! and I didn't post that!! Then realised it wasn't my username! :rotfl2: Nice name btw :thumbsup2

MainStMandy - I really like the new colour scheme, it says "springtime" to me more than your previous colourboard did, and I'm digging the blue tablecloth too  You could match the tablesetting flowers to your own bouquet maybe, or maybe to your MOH's bouquet. I also like the first vase with the twisted stalks showing.

I love the new color board!! Sorry people are being annoying! Just an idea, because you said Eric really wants to wear a pink tie and you wanted Jazzy in pink shoes, maybe blue and green can be your ceremony & reception colors and then green and pink can be your dessert party colors.
