Am I wrong?

it is not money it CUSTOMER SATISFACTION

Think along the lines of the famous Stew Leonard case study.

We went to Taco Bell a week ago and they gave me part of someone else's order. Like the man you mentioned I didn't know that until I opened it. I was rather surprised to see them turn around and give that same food to the people at the drive thru. Yuck. That TB is now off my places to eat.

I guess I am totally in the minority here, or maybe even standing completely alone :teeth: but I probably wouldn't have bothered asking for a new order. I mean, when I order fast food from a restaurant I look inside the bag to make sure I got what I ordered, but I don't open the boxes or wrappers so I don't touch the food until I get home/wherever I'm going. Are there really people who actually open the boxes/wrappers to SEE the food inside? I trust that if the box and/or wrapper is right, so is the food inside.

Plus, what's the difference in a customer touching your bag, or the employee? Yes, employees' hands are 'supposed' to be clean, but I doubt they always are!! So, to me it just wouldn't be a big deal.

It would have been good customer service to throw in a little something extra. I'm sure lot of people would just drive away and vow to never go back. Now if the manager threw in a little something, the customer leaves happy and will return. :D

What if you are standing at the counter - and the person in front of you gets their order...the open it up, move some stuff around, say it's not theirs. then the person working the counter says "oops - this was supposed to be yours" and hands it to you.

you SAW the other person touch the food...as the OP did...(open the bag and sift through contents)

would you still take the food?

The fast food place I worked at was Taco Bell...hangs head in shame...when I was manager I never let crap like that happen...that's just foul. I'm sorry you got a bad order.

I agree, you were not wrong. But after they attempted to give me the food they gave the other guy, they wouldn't have to worry about making me new food. I'd want my money back and I'd go somewhere else. I wouldn't knowingly eat somewhere that would re-use returned food. :scared:

Not wrong. Something extra would be nice but not required.

To the company, it's money. Maybe this is just a little thing but it seems more and more people are expecting all kinds of freebies and comps for every little thing that goes wrong (especially at Disney). They use the excuse of "customer satisfaction" to justify expecting all kinds of stuff for every minor inconvenience. I've found that life is a lot less disappointing if you expect to get what you pay for and let anything on top of that be a pleasant surprise.

At LJS all the boxes look the same. It doesn't say "This Meal" or "That Meal" on the box. The only way to see if your order is correct is to open the box to check.

Oh, and to top it off. I got no condiments, napkins or platstic wear! I had to eat with my hands now I smell like fish.

The company is out a lot more money when they lose a customer. :wave2:

It was your higher power trying to tell you not to eat that crap. :smooth:

Someone who expects freebies all the time is probably more trouble than they are worth. Someone who wasn't expecting a freebie but gets one to make up for a serious error will probably be loyal for life. I think that's the intention of "guest recovery"... not to make Disney seem like a pushover when reports of freebies get out on the boards.

Hey, you can go around and expect freebies all you want. It's just not my style.

I thought we were talking about Jong John Silvers. ;)

I'm just concerned workinggal now smells like fish.....can't be good in her line of work

I was talking about the attitude in general. Since it's a Disney board you most often see the attitude in regard to Disney policies.

In some professions, workinggals are expected to smell like fish!

maybe the cheap ones

Not the quality ones

Because, you know, some people could have seafood allergies

 It's just cheap fish and cole slaw. I'm not seeing a Disney connection. No one's asking a free vacation.
