I work at night with a young girl who is nice but likes to throw **** around a lot. She is always flirting with the guys. She seems to go out of her way to make herself noticed. At the company Christmas party a few people went out afterwards and to make a long story short she had a make-out session with one of the guys and I guess another girl (well woman) had one with another one of the guys. She couldn't believe that the next day people were talking about it. I guess she thinks its no big deal. I just think its so unprofessional. This girl is only temp. right now so I am really wondering if they wll keep her after this incident? Am I being a prude?

If they went out after the party, i dont see why its anyones business? Its one this if it happened DURING the company but afterwards?:confused3

**** is usually not appreciated at most work places. Office/workplace flings are usually frowned upon. I don't think you are off base.

Whether it should be any-one's business or not, things like this will always be fodder for gossip in a workplace. If a person doesn't want to be talked about, don't fool around with someone from work.

As far as ****, that would bother me and I'd probably tell her to knock it off. However, her after-hours antics would have no effect on me so I'd ignore the whole thing. It all will come back to bite her eventually...

It is not something I would do. I don't think it is wrong or anything but there is something to be said about being professional when in a professional setting. I am very close friends to the two other I.T. professionals I work with but we were friends for years before any of us worked together. When we are out of work it has nothing to do with work. On the other hand, when I am at a company outing or even with company staff on my free time that I know through work I act professional. We have had company picnics and outings to baseball games and while there are people who drink no one in important positions does and neither do I. It is just a matter of the portrait you paint in the professional environment.

The same goes for things like Facebook. Even though my page has nothing to do with work I have some coworkers (other than those 2 close friends) as friends so I don't put anything on there I wouldn't mind my boss or a future boss to see. It is just a matter of managing your image.

If you are someone who is interested in climbing the corporate ladder incidents like the one in the OP will make it very difficult. Maybe it shouldn't but it does.
