Am I trying to do to much?

Sorry in advance if I seem to be rambling.

I'm the planner for my group 7 adults and 1 infant (DD 10 months) and now I'm 2nd guessing lots of decisions. Example (the current one I'm stressing about) on our MK day I have FP+ scheduled and time for a midday break, with a BOG lunch I think I'm canceling because the time is to late (we have another on later in the trip). After the mid day break I have A&E FP for the ladies and DD, buzz for the guys. So far I'm good. This should been done between 5-515. We currently have a reservation at Tony's, but I'm debating the following options canceling and doing QS, or canceling and booking a reservation in Epcot, (if I make a 650 that should be enough time to get there).

I'm leaning towards QS, because I don't really know how DD is going to be yet. I mean we eat out all the time and she is great but I'm trying to remember Disney isn't the same.

Am I way over analyzing this? I don't want to be stuck paying $80 if we don't make an ADR!

I know I can try for ADRs day of but with 8 that can be hard!

I know I'll have a blast no matter what as will DD I just want everyone else to also.

I'd make the ADRs. Try them the first night, then cancel the rest if you think it's not going to work for the rest of the trip. Since she's only 10 months she won't be walking around so might actually do better than a 2 year old would.

I've read it a couple times and Im still not quite sure what the question is or how can I help, but I'll try to offer this.

If you're last FP+ is at Magic Kingdom from starts as late as 5:15 pm, you should be able to make it to Epcot for a 6:50 ADR without any issue so long as you hit the 5:15 FP+ at the start of the window.

That being said, it seems like alot of travel time to spend the morning at Magic Kingdom, then take a midday break, then go back to Magic Kingdom after lunch for a couple of hours, then head to Epcot for dinner. I would either just do MK in the morning and Epcot after the mid day break, plan on dinner before returning to the park (either your resort or a resort near MK) or plan on having dinner in MK.

To be honest, I'm not sure of the question either! I think I'm just feeling frustrated that I'm doing all the planning with no input and I'm now 2nd guessing every decision I have made to try and get the best experience for everyone.

I agree it may be to much to go to Epcot after FP's (they end by 515). But I know that 3 of the adults would rather eat in Epcot then Tonys or QS in MK.

I can't say I blame them. Can you move your A&E and Buzz FP+ up to before the mid day break (or consider doing at rope drop), then just hit Epcot after the break?

Please go anyplace else but Tony's Seriously the worst food on Disney property. Our food was basically inedible meaning we wasted a lot more then the $80 you are stressing over.

But here's another thing to consider...is it absolutely required you spend every minute together. If some of the other adults want to go to Epcot send them on their way.

Buzz yes A&E no luck... We are at the Contemporary so the back and forth isn't that bad to the MK.

Buzz isn't required just a place filler for the people not doing A&E.

This is why I want to drop Tony's for one of the other options... People say its horrible and living NY/NJ we eat pretty good Italian food.

No it's not required at all...

I think I'm going to cancel Tony's and do QS either in Epcot or MK this was its more open....

I would make the ADR's, but I wouldn't force adults to eat/pay for TS meals for dinner in MK (no booze! with the exception of BOG dinner)...EPCOT offers more adult-friendly dining options (even CS) than MK.

Also, worst case, as long as the rest of your party goes for the ADR's, you, your DH and DD can skip out and you guys won't be charged the $10/pp...the exception being places like CRT that are pre-paid.

I would drop Tony's.

I would plan an EPCOT ADR for 7pm.

I would take the midday break if you feel you need it. Rest time, pool time, bar time, whatever.

Let adults in group head to EPCOT Early if they want and you plan to meet them at the ADR for dinner. You just be at A&E promptly at the start of the window.

Win win for everyone. I think.

I'd change to a CS at MK, and drop Tony's (I haven't eaten there, but it gets enough bad reviews that I'd skip it!). There are good CS options at MK (Columbia Harbor House, Cosmic Ray's, flatbreads at Pinnochio's) that everyone would be happy. Eating CS can give you a lot more flexibility, and as you said, you won't have to worry about the $10 pp cancellation fee.

And I think the other posters that suggested the possibility of splitting your group up, at least occasionally, is a great idea. That's a lot of people with a lot of different opinions about what to do. You don't have to spend every minute together, and it can diffuse a lot of tension if everyone has some time to do their own thing.

OP, I feel for you - it's hard to be the person in charge of everything, especially when no one will give you input. You feel so responsible for everyone having a good time! Try not to stress too much (easy for me to say, right?).

Also, I don't think there is a no show penalty for members of the party that don't come to the ADR with the rest of the group.

This is my understanding, too. As long as at least part of the party shows up for an ADR, they don't charge "no show" fees for the rest of the group if some decide not to go. Can anyone else confirm?

Yes -- as long as at least one person shows up for the ADR, you don't get charged. If the "where" in Epcot is not critical, because there is the most dining there including a number of very good QS options you could hedge your bets. Make an ADR in the MK for everyone at some better spot, planning to go for at least you, DH, and DD. That way you can accommodate as many of your group as want to join in the MK, and if some feel like heading over to Epcot they will be able to find *somewhere* that they can get a nice meal, even without an ADR.
