Am I the only person who does this?

I used to live in Florida and have been an annual pass holder or seasonal pass holder since I was 8 years old. I'm currently 24 and have been able to conervt my wife as weel (she used to like that other Orlando park :rotfl2: ). Needless to say I have done just about everything possible at Disneyworld, so if something is too crowded I just skip it. I get up first thing in the morning and go the parks. I usually leave araound 11:30 and comeback sometime after dark?

This is where I start to feel a little evil. I get a kick out of sitting on a bench or a rocker somewhere and laughing at the people who have been in the parks all day and look miserable. You know the type. They look hot and sweaty. They look like they are ready to kill each other. Usually at least one of them is crying. They always have a guide map in their hand. They ususally have some sort group dictator who has some relentless schedule. These are the people who come home and tell everyone that Disneyworld was a total waste of 5 grand. The ones that just don't understand how to do Disney.

Is it evil that I find them amusing??????????

This is one of me and my wives favorite past times. You can find these same people everywhere. I hope we will not going THAT group for our first trip to WDW this Dec. :thumbsup2

I don't live in Florida, but I must admit WDW is one of the best people watching places I've ever been. It amazes me the rudeness of some people. I always enjoy the bus/boat/monorail ride at the end of the day. When grown able bodied men just sit there and watch some poor woman try to juggle a stroller, diaper bag, back pack and 2 kids all while trying to to fall over because no one was willing to give up their seat. :sad2:

You are AWESOME. I totally do this....and I'm 51! I like to sit there with my DH and
people-watch. We've been so many times that we don't feel compelled to do ANYTHING
if we don't feel like it. But we get such a kick out of the folks who will get their monies
worth no matter what the cost. They don't care who's tired, miserable, hungry, etc.
It's like Chevy Chase in the "Vacation" movie. (Expletive) WE'RE GOING TO HAVE FUN!
I just love it. Call me evil queen, I don't care. I LOVE IT. Bwahahahahaha........

People watching is a favorite of mine (even watching people go in and out of Dunkin Donuts in the morning -- what a hoot). Watching people at WDW is icing on the cake!

Our philosophy for our Christmas trip is to have fun. We're not planning to do it all, see it all. But we will probably spot a few of those families who are trying to!

We are local, and I love to watch people. If DD is riding something I don't want to ride (BTMRR, TT) I will sit near the exit and just watch and chat with folks. One of my favorite spots are the rocking chairs near HM - I love that little porch or a bench near Sunset & Hollywood Blvd in MGM!

My Dsis (58) and a friend have been travelling to WDW for the past 8 years (before I even moved here) and I could never figure out WHY SO MANY TRIPS without kids, and they aren't into riding anything too fast - but they also like to just take their time and people watch as well. Now I get it! Neither of their husbands like to travel, so this is an annual event for them! Now they both have famly here too so that's a plus!)

OMG that is sooo funny.. My sister and I do the same thing... I feel so bad for those ppl who look extremely exhausted...Maybe my family and I are just so used to getting up and going to the parks until they close...

i do it all the time. and they say baseball is america's favorite pastime (hah!) no it is not evil. ok maybe a little but not devil evil. but i will say i have some dicators who are on my list of most annoying relatives. so no it is not evil. and fyi my mom is teacher like you and she loves it!

I'm not a Floridian too but we love to look & be amazed at people who are hot, sweaty & tired too.

While they were getting to their early grumpy state we were back at the resort, sitting in the pool or in our a/c room (or out on the lanai) since the kids may or may not be napping. DH is getting a drink from the Poly bar to sip pool side.

Then we get showered & into nice clean, unsweaty clothes for the evening at the park.

When we get there we hear countless kids screaming & crying yet my kids are awake & in awe of the fireworks with minimal peeps (other then normal kid peeps that they do tend to get from time to time) & then we go back to the resort & our kids are so good they go to sleep as do we.

Since joining DVC we love your way of going to the parks.

I have had to teach DSS this form of entertainment. B/c we dont live near a park we do this to pass time while in line. I will say. OMG look at the heels on that lady, who wears those to a park? On the other hand I have been the person you guys watch at WDW trying to cram everything into 4 days. Hehe. ;)
