I refuse to do laundry on my vacation!!! I will pack more than enough clothes for my family for our 7 day cruise. The day we get home, I will devote to doing laundry. If we don't run out of water!

Laundry is my least favorite thing! I don't want to waste precious vacation time on it! Life is too short!

 Does anyone agree?

Definitely! The only time I have ever done laundry on vacation is if I am in a condo or villa that has a washer and dryer in the unit (and that's not very often).

Never have done it on a cruise, never will. I hate doing laundry. :)

I know I'm going to sound crazy---but I enjoy doing laundry on vacation!! I can tell you the location of the laundry room in just about every hotel we've stayed in! But not ironing - I think that is just a nasty, evil invention.:p

With 5 people.... 3 of whom are kids (2 who have notcturnal enuresis) I will be doing laundry .... and there is just no way we can carry 7 days worth of clothes and dress ups in our van on the way down.

(plus I don't mind asking my kids to switch loads.. even though they are on vacation too)

I wanted to avoid bringing home lots of laundry so I did a few loads on the cruise. It was a drag. The laundry rooms were crowded and it was difficult to find enough machines open. It was not a good way to spend limited cruise time!

Ditto...I agree!
I can assure you there will be no laundry done while cruising.
I'm not going to pay that kind of money to wash clothes :) :D ;)

I too will probably have to do laundry, hate it. Would be nice if the machines were by the pool (the main way I get it done at the parks is during pool time). Is there a quieter time than others anyone? (Empathize about the enuresis, have a kid who always seems to get stomach flu, on one trip at Ft. Wilderness trailers I had to do it just about every day, couldn't let it sit, and ummmm.. fester ya know.)

Me! I'm right there with you on that one. I plan on making sure DH and DD (17) know where the laundry is and have plenty of change in case they need something washed. I'm on vacation, so it's every man and woman for themselves when it comes to clean clothes. Besides, I don't ever remember learning in any of my genetics classes about the "clothes washing chromosome" that was present in females and not males.....:D

I am so with you on this dirty laundry issue! I HATE LAUNDRY. I would much rather do it when I get home than to waste my time doing chores on the ship. The best part of vacation is not having to do anything- cook, make beds, bill paying, or laundry.

Ill join the no laundry club! There is plenty of time for that when we get home, and definitely not enough time to enjoy vacation. I should note the longest vacation Ive been on with my kids has been 7 days. If it were longer, laundry might become a necessity, but until then, no way no how! ;)

The closest I have come to laundry was on our honeymoon, we got caught in a downpour. After wearing sandals to the parks for a day while I tried to dry out my sneakers, I finally broke down and threw them in a dryer. Actually, DH did it for me...ahhh the good old days of being newlyweds. ;) :D

I always do laundry on vacation. I pack 1/2 the amount I will need and wash and rewear. I will never do that on a cruise again!!! First of all, the laundry rooms were not alllll that convienent to get back and forth from. Then there was the little matter of every time someone checked their loads in the same up and down machine you were in, it turned yours off too and unless they turned yours back on, it just sat there!!! VERY IRRITATING! Then, it takes for evvvveeeerrr to dry the clothes, and some never get dried. A total waste of time and money.

Take all the clothes you need and do them when you get home.

I know you all will think I am crazy; however, I would rather do a load or two or even three on the cruise than to come home with all those dirty clothes. Unlike my sis-in-law, Callahanjulie10, I do 1 to 2 loads of laundry EVERYDAY. I can't standing having dirty clothes lying around. Most days when I go to bed, there is little to no dirty clothes in our clothes hampers. I am not going to spend my weekend doing loads and loads of laundry. So the answer to the questions, is No I do not mind doing laundry on cruise. I run down put a load or two in, go back in 30 minutes or so, put them in dryer. Hang up some and let them dry in room or on verandah chair. YES, I have a verandah on May 25, 2002. YES, YES, YES

I usually always do laundry on vacation...I HATE the thought of packing dirty stinky clothes in my suitcase or having them in my car! I usually do it the last day so all I have is one small stinky bag of one days worth of clothes to take home.

I did 1 load on the Magic 2 weeks ago and it was a pleasant experience. I did it while in St. Maarten. It took about 1 1/2 hours to wash and dry a load. It was a light load -undies and socks and t-shirts but only cost $2. I din't think it was too bad!!!!

It's bad enough I have to do the laundry at home. I'm not going to do it while I'm on vacation. I rather over pack!:D

There is NO WAY I'm doing laundry while on a 4 day cruise. I do enough at home. I'm sure some mathematically inclined soul could figure out how much we are paying per hour for this cruise and I know it would be too much of my money to spend even 1 hour in the laundry room.

this is barring emergencies of some kind. If all is well, I will NOT be doing laundry. I too would much rather over pack

On our cruise I did laundry during the evening after we put our DS to bed. It wasn't an imposition because I spent the lag time in the Internet Cafe. And I much prefer traveling light.

Dave, what time? Was the laundry slow then? Is the Cafe actually close to the laundry?

I do one or two loads a day and I still can't get ahead! It's still piled everywhere I look and it never stops coming!

In the beginning, BC, (before children) I would never do laundry on vacation. But now, yes, I do. At least a load or two. There's always a stain or a spot or a shortage of something... Last day of the seven night cruise, I needed two shirts to get us home and debated sending them out or washing them myself. We usually drive to Florida and that usually produces one load just at the beginning. Besides, my husband likes to travel light and always complains we're taking too much.
