who is saddened by VMK putting an arcade game in Blue Bayou? Blue Bayou is one of my favorite restaurants at Disneyland, It's a classy place and they would never put in an arcade game. I love the new arcade room but why can't they just stick with keeping the games there? It makes me feel like I'm in Vegas, with slot machines everywhere :sad1:

Yeah. I agree. They really shouldn't have put games in Blue Bayou or the treehouse. It just seems to detract from the rooms. :confused3

I too agree that they really look out of place. My first reeaction when i saw them was how tacky they look in the rooms and distract from the actual theme of the rooms. Why spread them out when they made a dedicated penny arcade room? Who knows what the thinking was in the vmk design office.

yeha, arcade games dont belong on the frontierland dock either. What this paul? Its one of them crazy contraptions. Ah it glows! - throws off dock -

Some of them look more out of place than others, but one in the Blue Bayou is an absolute travesty. I don't see why we need them anywhere but the penny arcade, really. I mean, it's a neat idea, but most of them just don't work with the rooms they're in.

yeah, or at least they could make them smaller. they look like they take up so much space. this is disney! VMK gosh.

i dont see arcade games everywhere i go when i go to disney.

I maybe we should give it some time. If they release a new game the penny arcade would quickly get swamped. There would probably be lines waiting to get in to play. This new system they've come up with would let them spread the load to any room in VMK. And think about this, what if you could buy one and put it in your room? :thumbsup2

Yeah, they look a little out of place in some areas. Maybe they are just showing off this new cabinet system they came up with. It could be a preview of great things to come.

I haven't gotten a chance to see the arcade boxes are the new rooms to really comment on how it looks.

But if it helps any... Adding the arcade game to the Blue bayou does make it seem like an authentic Louisiana resturant the vast majority of which sport video poker machines.

The Banquet Room is another place where an arcade cabinet looks out of place.

I am extremely disappointed with these additions; they look awful. None of this makes sense to me outside of the Penny Arcade.

If VMK is gearing up for more in-game-only arcade games, they really should dedicate one room for that purpose, the way they did in Tomorrowland. We don't have multiple access points all over VMK for Pirates, Mansion, etc.

But if the cabinets are only going to link to the outside games on the home page, this whole addition seems like a waste of effort.

Ok, well Crazy makes a point. If new games came out, there would be HUMONGO lines for the penny arcade.

I know it stinks that they are everywhere, but i guess its for the best.

By the way, Can you play a arcade game from any side of the booth? because that wouldnt be so bad then.

Here is a thought - wishful thinking. :thumbsup2

As you know there is a poll for hidden mickey's. Maybe, the locations of the arcade games are just temporary. Once the Hidden Mickey's Level is decided and created, the new overlay will be made for each section of VMK. Then each section will contain a place to house the arcade games and move them from the public places that make them appear so out of place.

Well, not really. Once someone starts a game, they get taken out of the room, don't they? So there might possibly be some lines to get into the room, but they wouldn't be all that long, because most people wouldn't stay in the room all that long; they'd start a game and disappear, leaving a space for the next person. I mean, there's always a bit of a rush whenever there's something new, but if there are a reasonable number of instances, I don't think it would be that bad - not even close to the wait times for a checkers game on Friday, for example.
