:badpc: some of my family, sends me forwarded stuff all the time. in the last hour my niece has sent me 5. :rolleyes2
i have asked them to stop, but they say they don't want to break the chain. so i usually just delete them without reading them now, but i have ended up missing family stuff that way.
just wanted to see how others felt.

My Mom also hates them. She just deltes them.

I detest them. I delete anything that is forwarded, because if I open it then I have to send it. I just tell the friends that I send it to, what the subject line says & for them to delete it so they do not have to send it on.

I send them back and then I delete them.

My husband once wrote a hysterical chain letter spoof, we never sent it out. We were afraid some people would not get the joke.

I also hate all the urban legend e-mails. I tend to send them back with a link to the snopes.com page.

I hate them!!! I will open them up because I dont want to miss something that might be said. But I dont like getting that crap so I dont send it on. And the urban ledgends ones are the worst. I usually will go to snopes and reply with the link to whom ever sent it to me.

For the record....I dont think that something great will happen after I forward a chain, I dont think something bad will happen to me if I delete a chain, I refuse to send a chain to 7 people because I was one of your 7, and I wont forward a chain just because you aren't sure if its true or not.

I'm not superstitious so I am not afraid to delete a chain letter that says I'll have bad luck or some family member will die if I don't forward it. What I do is return it to whomever sent it to me (back in their court) & then I also tell them that I do not like nor want any e-mail like this & to please not forward anymore to me. I only have 1 or 2 people that still send them to me & I just delete. Not worth losing a friendship over sometimes!

just had one last week, said amber alert, so i had to open it. it was a story about a little girl that was missing from s.c., well i remembered the picture from a amber alert i had recieved about a year ago, went to the amber alert site (missing children) they didn't have her name or anyone from that town missing. makes me mad that someone would use that to get people to send things on.

UGH! I can't stand them!!!

My uncle constantly sends ultra right-wing claptrap. My next door neighbor sends those dumb "don't go the mall on Friday" warnings. My old friend from high school sends those stupid "Friends are Special" emails with the pictures of kittens and leperchauns. Any my other neighbor sends every idiotic urban legend known to man.

Thank God for the delete key!!!

I hate them too, I get them from a very good friend and from a business associate. I do open them, then delete them, and I NEVER forward them. I hate that not forwarding them sometimes makes me feel guilty. I didn't ask for that junk to be sent to me! :badpc:

I NEVER forward that kind of junk. I always delete it without opening it. That goes for those stupid "send this dumb sappy poem to five people you love" or "share this with all the women in your life/how to avoid being kidnapped at the mall/beware of toxic perfume samples" type emails as well. If they send those sorts of things to me, they die with me. I certainly don't feel guilty about it. I HATE forwarded emails!!!!!

:badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc: :badpc:

I hate anything that is a forwarded funny. They all annoy me. Chances are if it is that good and that funny I will read it on one of my message boards.

Me too....I just did one last week.:rotfl2:

As far as chain letters, never answered them ever. I just delete.

:badpc: I hate them too...I also delete asap....they are major sources of problems for your computer

I am always afraid of getting a cumputer virus from one but I hate to not open them because there might be some real news in it. I usually delete and never forward.

I don't like them either. I have 2 friends who always send them to me.
when they go broke, get sick or have no friends it will be my fault.

I never read them, just delete. It's always the ones that only have a string of emails in the subject area & an attachment anyway. I figure if it's not important enough to put in the subject, it's not worth my time to read it.

Exactly. I've tried to explain the association between forwarding and viruses to the people who send these things, but they just don't get it.

I also hate that DH does this in spite of my warnings.

I have an Aunt who is new to the internet and believes every odd warning and wierd e-mail that comes her way. She forwards me 20 or so e-mails a day and all those STUPID SURVAYS! I just hate it. It has come to the point where I just delete her stuff before reading but have missed some important family information. Then my sister in law sends me pseudo patriotic stuff that's pro things I am not exactly for. She knows it too. I just don't ever want anyone to send me anything from someone else. I also think forwarding e-mail in general is rude.
