Am I the only one who doesn't regularly drink pop with meals?

I cant enjoy a meal without my diet coke. Well, with cereal I can do without, but even with other breakfast foods(bagles, muffins, eggs, pancakes, etc..) I enjoy my DC. I am somewhat of a hypocrite when it comes to my kids. I only let them have diet coke a couple times a week, usually for special events, parties, dinner at Grandmas, etc... I cant ban it from them all together because I live on it.

I drink pop with every meal, my DS's usually have milk for dinner, sometimes juice, and on rare occasions, pop. They usually only drink pop at restaurants or when we go to cookouts/picnics/parties. My DH will drink anything I put in front of him, except water. He hates water! :p

I do but rarely, allow pop when we get a
fast food meal. We don't often get fast food
either so pop at a meal is rare for us. Milk or
water is our norm-mostly water. Ds has milk
at breakfast and lunch. I mostly drink water.

No one in my family drinks pop (we call it soda). We prefer water. My kids drink juice and milk ocassionally though.

Come to think of it, I'm not sure either of my boys have ever actually had soda. Its just not something we have in the house or order out when in a restaurant.

We are a milk drinking family. We have milk with every meal except when we order pizza, then we'll all have pop or juice. My DS13 likes milk with his meals but drinks juice or water between meals. DD13 & DS6 drink milk for all of their meals and usually milk or water between meals too. I myself probably drink 4 large glasses of skim milk a day.

I am a water drinker. I try to drink a glass of milk a day. Occassionally I will have a soda/pop/soft drink.....may once every 2 - 4 weeks.
DDs usually drink milk (prefer chocolate), sometimes water and if DH or myself are having soft drink they will have some.

DH and I always drink water... we drink soda on an irregular basis. A six-pack of soda will last us 2 weeks. I'm not even supposed to drink soda (IBS & GERD), so I do it rarely... it makes me verrry uncomfortable afterwards (I'll leave it to your imagination). Whenever he goes to a fast food place, he always gets iced tea with his meals. I thrive on water.

DS always drinks milk, I usually drink iced tea, and DH usually drinks beer.

My boys ( ages 9 & 13 ) do drink a can of pop with dinner and sometimes lunch. They aren't allowed to have pop otherwise. So, they will either drink a flavored milk ( they add either chocolate or strawberry syrup) or Sunny D or juice with breakfast.

We drink water, tea or milk but use to drink sodas alot. Only buy it when company comes over.

This is something that always makes me angry. Soda, juice and water are all that a lot of people serve at these fundraising dinners. I'm diabetic. I a stuck with water unless I bring my own drink. Normally I drink iced tea with my meals or occasionally water but I would like the choice. Oh and I can't have the normal diet soda because I am allergic to Nutrasweet. Only RC makes it without Nutrasweet.

DS and DH either have soda or tea. I usually drink milk or water.

When I was a kid, we could only have milk with meals. Now that I’m an adult, I have milk (sometimes chocolate) if I’m home, but pop and water if I’m in a restaurant. (Maybe because restaurants give free refills for pop, but not milk.) Occasionally, I’ll get coffee, iced tea, or hot tea in a restaurant instead of pop; but always with a glass of water, too.

I drink either water or unsweetened iced tea with meals. Soda makes my teeth hurt.

There is usually a Diet Coke (in a glass with ice) in my hand almost 24/7. At mealtime I just continue drinking what I was drinking......

Occasionally I will drink a glass of icewater. No juice and definitely no milk. DH drinks a lot of water. DS's drink juice, milk and occasionally pop.

I finally have a side by side fridge with water and ice in the door... I plan to try to make it a habit to drink water at least during the day! :(

I'm like you. I never drink pop with meals unless it is barbecue or hamburgers. I drink tea with my meals.

No pop in our house. That's an occasional treat at restaurants. In fact, nothing carbonated at our house. My doctor told me that carbonated drinks leech calcium from bones and I need all the calcium I can get since I don't like milk.

I thought of this thread today. :D I was at a bridal shower and at the beginning we were all outside of the club. There was a table with cheese & crackers, water(pitcher & bottled Perrier), wines, and some cans of soda. Obviously from my other post, I went for the diet coke(well, it was pepsi, but beggers cant be choosers). Then once we went inside for lunch to be served the waiters were great about keeping the water glasses filled and offering everyone wine constantly, but there was no way to get soda! I so wished I had grabbed a new can on the way in since mine was just finished then. But anyway, for me, my meal would have been so much more enjoyable had I had a soda to go along with it. Drinking that water was killing me(and I do drink plenty of water every day, just not with food, yuk!). ;)

I rarely even buy soda. If it's leftover from a party or something, that's all the kids will ask for. So it's generally water, oj, or milk. I have to limit the apple juice also, the girls always want the sugary stuff!
