I tried one last trip (skipped the citrus swirl for it) and didn't like it! I'll stick to the citrus swirl, love that one!

I second the citrus swirl. Far superior, IMO, to the Dole whip.

You can get them in the Magic Kingdom by the Swiss Family Robinson's tree house. My DH and I enjoy them very much!

We couldn't wait to try the Dole whip either. We love pineapple, fresh, canned, in malts, on pizza etc. , so that is the kind we tried. YUCK!!!! We were so dissappointed ..took 1 bite and trashed the rest.

I walk by the Dole Whip place and giggle thinking about everyone on the Dis that loves them. Not me, they make the inside of my mouth hurt and I just don't care for them. They have pineapple spears for about 1.50 that DH likes.

I love ice cream, and pineapple. Unfortunately, I do not like Dole Whips. Tried it first in 1978 and said "never again".

I would describe it as soft-serve pineapple sherbet.

Like all soft serve, if the machine dispensing it hasn't been cleaned properly it can have an off-taste, and if the machine isn't set at the right temperature it can have an icky, cool-whip consistency.

So, those that love it might have been lucky in always getting very good dole whip, those that don't might have hit it on a bad day.

Do not worry, I also can not stand the dole whip. Citrus swirls are a million bajillion times better. They are the only snack I absolutely have to have when at MK.

Where can i find citrus swirls?

If I'm im Adventureland, with MC of Aladdin at my back, and I'm facing Frontierland, are the citrus swirls sold at the stand to my left, just beside the Tiki Room, and the Dole Whips are over at the right, across from Swiss Family Robinson Tree House? I'm hoping I have this right.
And don't forget the Strawberry Swirls in Fantasyland (I think they're sold at Enchanted Grove). I love those!

I don't dislike Dole Whips but don't love them either.
I'll have to try a Citrus Swirl though.

My family tried the Dole Whip once a couple of years ago and none of us really cared for it. I don't think we'd ever get one again.

I don't DISlike them, just don't see much special about them. It's pineapple soft-serve for Walt's sake. I can get it at my local ice cream shop AND at my local county fair. I sometimes think people THINK they like them so much because they're getting them from WDW. I mean, I REALLY liked butter beans when I was at my Grandma's house...but give them to me at home and I wouldn't eat them. I don't mean that in a bad way, just that Dole Whips are SO overrated. I had one of the Strawberry Swirls recently at Mk and thought it was much better....but I wouldn't drive or fly there just to get one. I just don't get it....

I like a bite or two of my DD's Dole Whip, but I'm not a huge fan. DD, however, loves them so much that she adds "Get Dole Whip" to her itinerary every trip.
