Am I the only one underwhelmed by the Electrical Parade?

It has an "old" vibe to it ...not sure if all the floats are actually old. I saw it this past November and just didn't get all the crowd. I know now to take advantage of the rides during this point, but I wanted to see it once to see what all the fuss was about. It's put me off wanting to try the water one.

I'm ready for something new. That's why I'm heading back west this fall to see the "Paint the Night" parade coming to DLR.

I love parades. But we skip MSEP now.

I'm so sad we only saw Spectro once. We had already seen MSEP at DLR when it came back to WDW and have seen it many times since then. But I'm done. It's nice but I need to see new things. I'm really excited about the new afternoon parade.

MSEP is one of my favourite parts of a Disney trip. A big part of it is the nostalgia factor--it's one of my oldest and fondest Disney memories.

What do you meant by the water one? Are you talking about the water pageant? Lol - if you were unimpressed with the MSEP, you definitely don't want to go out of your way to see the little train of light up characters than float along the lagoon!
The electric parade is ok - if you're not a parade person (as I am not) you're not going to be terribly impressed. But it's fine if I happen to still be wide awake at the time. I've probably seen it five times out of 30 or 40 weeks at WDW.
I feel the same way about Fantasmic though .... I don't dislike it, but I won't jump through hoops to see it.

I never did get tired of Spectro. Something about the music, I think. My two teens sure love MSEP, but then again they love any parade. DW and I usually ditch the kids and go ride Haunted Mansion when it is time for MSEP

I love parades and there is something I do not like about MSEP. It creeps me out a little or something. FoF is amazing though.

I've always loved MSEP. I've seen it many times at DL, DCA and MK. What I DON'T like about the MK version is the new soundtrack. The original version was much better. I also loved Spectromagic, and I am one of the very few who enjoyed Light Magic at DL.

I can't wait to see Paint The Night on May 22, unless they have AP previews ahead of the debut.

Spectromagic was so much better. Never got tired of it but the electric parade just does not do it for me.

ITA! We saw it once and that was more than enough. Hope I get to see Spectro some day. The good thing about not liking the parade is now I don't have to make plans for how to see it!

For me, it's the music. The synthesizer sound is so dated. Spectromagic's music was so much more complex and weaved the classic Disney songs seamlessly into its main theme.

MSEP was just supposed to come back for a quick summer nostalgia trip a few years ago but stayed so long that the Spectromagic floats rotted away. So sad. Time for something new.

We got to see Spector twice.
We loved it so much it now my ringtone!!
We have video of it that gets watched more than any other home movie.

Growing up on the west coast we saw the electrical parade more times then I can remember.
To us, it a shell of what it once was. So many things hav been removed.
It's nice but we skip it now.

Has for the water pagent for us once was enough..
Would love to see something NEW done from the little island in the middle of the lake

Nope OP, you aren't the only one. I saw this parade twice. Once as a kid, and then a few years ago. I miss Spectro badly. I am very underwhelmed by MSEP and skip it now.

I love the Water Parade though.

If they got rid of it, all of a sudden there would be an uproar about how Disney made a mistake the same way they did with (defunct attraction). Personally, I like. Yes, it is dated but that's the point. People who have been going to Disney since 71 can always have the nostalgic experience - and it's one of the few original attractions left on property.

From childhood...so I love it. I imagine that nostalgia is a big reason for the crowds. I didn't care for Spectromagic. I was upset MSEP went away for that. Glad that it came back.
