Likes SSR? We own DVC there and really love it. We think its really great looking and laid out well. The bus rides don't seem to be too bad either. Anyone else on here like this resort??

It just doesn't have that extra special Disney something. The rooms look like any colonial in suburbia and the grounds are just not that special. Don't get me wrong they are nice they just don't have the extra ooomph that Disney has to offer at other locations.

I stayed there in the beginning of June and I loved it. We had a one bedroom villa and it was great having a washer/dryer, full kitchen and big refrigerator. The grounds were beautiful and we could see DTD from the porch. There were alot of people staying there, but we never heard any noise. It was nice and quiet. I would recommend it highly.

I like it, but the Downtown Disney area is just not somewhere that I spend alot of time in.

I will be staying there at the end of August. I have done alot of research on it and most people seem to like it. I hope I do...I am really looking forward to it!!

Saratoga Springs Resort is bland, especially when you compare it to such architecturally interesting places such as the Lodges or such beautifully landscaped resorts as the Polynesian. It looks like a cookie-cutter resort; there's nothing special there. I visited it once to see what it was like soon after it opened, and I have no interest in going back. I'm sure the rooms are nice and it's a pleasant hotel, but it's not up to the standards of the deluxe hotels at WDW.

The DH and I love SSR. That was actually the first resort that we ever checked out before we visited WDW for the first time. We went on a DCL cruise last Jan, and stopped in DTD on our way back home. We did the DVC tour, and so we got to see a lot of SSR. In fact, we almost bought in, but decided that we needed to wait a couple more years. The DH and I both thought that the resort was beautiful and would stay there in a heartbeat!

We love SSR! We've stayed there twice and will be there again in September. We think it has the best pool on property for little ones - a zero entry area, a great Donald themed splash fountain, a little bitty waterslide, and a great larger waterslide! We also really like the choices at Artist Pallette. We aren't really burger/chicken strip people, so the chicken and artichoke flatbread (and other more interesting options) are great for us! We also find the bus transportation to be great, better than most of the regular deluxe resorts we have stayed at. And, we do love the boat to Downtown Disney. We spend a lot of time there in the evenings. Also, the landscaping is absolutely beautiful and the whole place just has a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Anybody who says there's nothing "Disney" about SSR definatley hasn't taken that boat ride from the resort to Downtown Disney in the evenings. The view is breathtaking! (Whenever we stay there, our first night tradition is to hop on the boat late in the evening and head to downtown Disney where we hit Goofy's Candy Company and stock up on yummy things to eat in our room all week long!) We can't wait to go back!

We recently booked CSR to save money but we walked all around SSR and ate at Artist's Palette for lunch one day. It's quite beautiful and the pool is awesome. What a great slide!

We would like to buy into Disney but just graduated a child from college and married her the same year so we are in the process of catching up!

I am going to figure out the rent/trade board and stay at SSR for a trip.

I think there's something for everyone and you can find at least one person that hates a resort. There are some I didn't like at all that we visited but I wouldn't rule them out totally.

Anway we did love the looks and grounds of SSR.

Take Care

We love SSR and I suspect that people who say its missing something have just never stayed there. Its georgus inside and out, very comfortable, and suprisingly quiet. We have stayed there mulitple times, including its very first day. We have stayed elsewhere if we have a specific need, like SAB in July, but generally, its our first choice.
