Am I the only one that likes Jambo House?

Haven't stayed at Kidani yet....but plan to give it a try. But we prefer Jambo mainly for Mara. I have teens. They love to be able to just run down there for food and snacks after we're back from a day at the parks. Kidani would be a hand's down winner for me (based on room size and extra bathroom) if they only had a counter service place. We just don't like doing sit-downs all the time. Also, I think the pool area is prettier at Jambo.

I've only stayed at Jambo, but have visited Kidani. If I were going to stay there again, I would request Jambo. I like being close to the restaurants and mug station. We walked in the rain from Kidani back to Jambo and it was just a bit too much. They need to make more food available at Kidani. It is gorgeous though!

Just as an FYI there are mug stations in Kidani :)

We've stayed at both and prefer Kidani for lots of reasons. The extra bathroom is awesome in the 1 bedroom if there are more than 2 of you, and we really like the quiet atmosphere, especially after a hectic day in the parks. We sometimes stop at Jambo on the way back if we want to go to Mara or go shopping at the bigger store and hop the DTD bus back to Kidani. We also like the refill station being right in the lobby area in the gift shop. The community hall is a good drawing point also for the kids.

I am a Jambo house fan. We own at AKV but have not stayed at Kidani but have visited a few times. I would be happy at either. I like the restaurants available in Jambo and the CS etc (although we do love Sanaa as well). We have easily walked back and forth between the two so I think both are great!

I love Jambo..and of all the places I have stayed as far as Disney goes Jambo is my all time favorite. My daughter is happy and feels at home everytime we make it to Jambo house...

We stayed at Kidani in March, which was our first trip to AKV. I loved Kidani for its relaxing atmosphere, but I was surprised that the pool is rather small. We were there at a slow time (and it was cold), so I can't imagine how crowded that area is during the hot summer months. The pool play area was fun for my DS5.

One evening we took a ride over to Jambo and I was quite surprised by how different it was. First, the lobby is so huge and much more lively! I guess after spending a week at Kidani, I was taken aback by how much larger everything was at Jambo. I think if I want to be at the center of the action, Jambo wins hands down, but it is also nice to go back to the relaxed atmosphere of Kidani at the end of the day.

Overall, it's a beautiful resort.

Let me just say, we have never stayed at AK as DVC members, but we have seen both Jambo and Kidani. I personally think I like Jambo so much more. It seems like the location is so much more convenient. I know the rooms are a bit different, but we just need the basic necessities of a studio.
From what I have read, Kidani is the only way to go. What do you think?

No, Kidani is NOT the only way to go. Frankly, there are pros and cons about both sites. Since we don't usually need the extra bathroom, I don't find that part to make much difference. I do, however, enjoy the studio layout a bit more at Kidani than Jambo, and I like the stand alone shower in the 1 and 2 bedroom villas better at Kidani as well. Aside from the rooms though, I prefer the Jambo location.

We've only stayed at AKV once in a 1 BR at Jambo and we wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. We really enjoy the resorts with a hotel ambiance.

I've stayed at Kidani twice now and I absolutely love it. To me the only advantages Jambo has are the store and Mara. But how often am I going to go to the store or Mara? For me, once or twice a trip. And I dont mind the walk from Kidani to Jambo at all. So the advantages of Kidani seem better to me.

However, and there's always a however in life . . . I've never stayed at Jambo. When I first went to Kidani, there were things I thought I'd like that I didn't, and things I thought I wouldn't like but did. You never know till you try it. Good thing about DVC, I'll be visiting enough to make up my own mind. :)

We've stayed at both and liked both. Given the choice, we'd probably pick Jambo though.

Having the Mara right there was really nice. I also love love love the lobby at Jambo. Having the option of value accommodations to save points is nice too.

I felt much more relaxed on the Kidani trip. Although that could also be because my dad wasn't with us on that one:rolleyes1. It was much more calm and quiet there. The mug station didn't bother me at all. It wasn't any further from our room to the gift shop in the lobby than it was from our room at Jambo to the Mara. Although, they didn't have Barq's at Kidani which bothered me a little :).

The kids pool is amazing, but you can use it if you're staying at Jambo. Our room at Kidani was overlooking the bus stop, so it was a ways away from the pool. Honestly, adding on another 7 minute walk from Jambo isn't that big of a deal.

The extra full bath in the 1 bedroom was especially helpful since we had a teenager with us. It made getting ready in the morning a lot faster.

We really did love Kidani, it's just the lack of food options that make us prefer Jambo. As far as the rooms go, I don't notice any difference. Same carpet, same linens, same exact furniture, etc.

for a studio - Jambo wins to me hands down.

first it has value rooms -which are great. secondly the standard are all pool.

so you generally get a great view.

the pool is pretty close (always stay standard or value) - the restuarants are close, so is the laundry mat. when you consider how big this place is - those are a big plus. also the gift shop is close.

you can watch the kids doing the parade - that is pretty cute! you can learn about the Africian culture (okay only some of it). you are also pretty close to the fire - the one inside and the one outside - where there is storytelling.

In addition to the extra bathroom in the Kidani 1BRs, the master bathroom is directly connected to the master bedroom. The clothes closet is in the bathroom and has a large pedestal safe (large enough to hold a laptop) where you create your own combination for the lock. The master bath has a separate shower stall. We found all of this made Kidani more convenient for us.

In Jambo, there is a small hallway separating the master bedroom and bathroom so you cannot move between them in privacy. Jambo's master bath has a combined whirlpool tub and shower. There is an armoire in the bedroom for your clothes rather than a closet. I'm not sure about the safe but I assume it is the usual wall safe.

It's Jambo for me all the way. We bought when it 1st went on sale because we loooovvvvve AKL. It is so awesome to be able to call it home. It's just amazingly gorgeous and a world of it's own. I also love the fact that they have value rooms with great views, the food there is awesome and it is just a really stunning resort.

We really like Jambo House the best due to the pool and being close to most of the resturants as well as QS dining. Plus to WOW factor walking into the lobby always takes my breath no matter how many times we go there.
