Am I the only one that hates the beach?

We were at the beach last weekend for a family reunion. I wouldn't say I hated it, but it wasn't great. My MIL grew up there and her family is still there so it's nice to see them but the beach was absolutely full of seagulls (and their feces). We couldn't go in the water because of those stupid birds and their poop, too much e.coli in the water. Yuck!!!

I would love to be at a pool NEXT to a beach! :)

That sounds perfect. Oh, and next to a bar serving ice cold margaritas.

head down to Islamorada in the Keys. there's a bar/burger stand anchored to the first sandbar, you can drop anchor or wade out to it from the beach. :thumbsup2

I know I went on and on in my previous response about how I feel about the beach. I don't know how I could forget the most important dislike that I have. I canl't bring my laptop to the beach. :sad2:

My laptop would get full of sand and be rendered useless. A useless laptop would prevent me from visiting the Disboards. That would make me unhappy, except when the Disboards are overrun with other Disboarders, preventing me from posting a timely response. I truly dislike an overloaded server. It is just as bad as a sandy server. :badpc:

40 second response times make me crazy too, but that's another thread. :teeth:

I go to the beach a lot, and sometimes it's great, and other times I get tired of the sand and seawater too. Depends on my mood, really. I like being at a beach where you can order food and drink, and showers and bathrooms are right there, as well as beach chairs. That's why I keep going back to the beach at our yacht club - you can't beat the convenience, and the rum punches hit the spot :teeth: !

Can't stand the beach!

DH and I even went on 2 Disney cruises and spent a grand total of 15 minutes on the beach.

It's hot, you're all sticky from sunscreen, you have sand in unmentionable places, there's God knows what in the ocean, sand is impossible to walk in, and on and on and on.

Put me down as another fan of the pool right by the beach idea!

Me too, here in Miami you have to PAY to get on the beach. Than, there is trash all over, and the water is, most of the time, polluted so you can't swim. :sad2:

You have to pay in most NJ beach towns as well. thats not a new thing either.
