I don't come to the CB for grief and controversy.....believe me with three boys (two teens and one in college!) and surrounded on three sides by family......I don't need any more controversy than I already get!!


That's what's going to be SO fun at Riddlecon (I hope)....there won't be any of that "hidden" agenda stuff unless my hubby hides my Riddlecon Itinerary!!!!LOL

I agree with you. I hate when that happens. But then again, the DIS isn't the place it used to be. I find myself spending most of my time on the DVC board, as the CB is too full of war stuff, sarcasm etc.

The DIS has never been the same at any time in the 5 years I have been here. It constantly evolves. The most significant changes occurred when our traffic increased tremendously. You can't have as intimate a community with as many people. It is still a community, but it is different. You will always have people with unpopular opinions, harsh remarks, posting with hidden agendas and disagreements all around.

As for the war, as a community, we have never had to face something of this magnitude before. There are differing opinions on it too and most people feel passionate about their stance. Other than the Presidential election, I have never seen a world event "divide" the board as much. But it is just because of people's passion in their beliefs and there is nothing wrong with that. It makes the world go round.

But I don't want to digress from Maggie's original thought that finding out you've been "had" is not a nice feeling.

Good points, CC. It's just that I don't particularly care for this latest "evolution". Just MHO. I seek out those threads that seem like I would enjoy them, and stay away from those that seem like they would be more distressing. Works for me, at the moment.

I have no idea what you're talking about, I've been here four years and never heard a cross word or backhanded comment. Never discovered any hidden agendas or that a poster wasn't EXACTLY what he/she claimed to be. You must be mistaken. Nothing like that ever happened here.
