Am I the only one that ends up with a headache after riding a roller coaster??

I don't go on any rollercoasters because they make me sick, but my son gets a headache every time he goes on Rockin' Rollercoaster. Every trip I remind him and wish he wouldn't go on, but he likes the ride so I keep the tylenol very handy. Nothing else at Disney makes him sick and I am so happy my kids don't like Universal or six flags, etc. I know he would get many headahces from rides there and I don't like the fact that it happens because it scares me that it is harmful. So, to answer your question, you are NOT alone!!

I get headaches from some rides with a restraint that goes over your head. But it's because I'm very short and my head ends up between the restraint. Any ride that jerks you and my head is just banging back and forth between the bars the whole time. Remember that for your children too!

I love the rides, RNRC for example, but I have to keep my head pressed against the back or I end up with a headache. And I've heard of a lot of people that didn't know to keep their head back at take-off and got a good little slam then.

DS and I did Rockin Rollercoaster 2X, Tot 2X, Splash Mountain 3X, BTMRR 1X, and Space Mountain 2X. RR was the only one that gave us both a headache. The 2nd time we rode we both said if felt like our brains were bounced around in our heads. The other rides were fine.

:flower:

I can handle the rollercoasters and such, but the star tours, mission space make me very ill, I came off of those rides in a cold sweat. Never again. :earseek:

The WORST is Rock n Roller Coaster for headaches....the first time I rode it, I already had a splitting headache...I thought my head was going to explode when I got off that ride!

Visited WDW for the first time last week. RNR did a number on my head and I left the ride fairly impressed, but wishing my head wasn't hurting so bad. Tried it again later that day and it got way worse. Even though I enjoy the ride, I can't go on it again because of the severe headaches that follow.

I have rode almost all of Florida's roller coasters. I love them all with the exception of Rocking rolling coaster .....

I am short and it beats my head back and forth on the side thingy that locks you in. It too gives me terrible headaches and if I were a baby I'd liken it to shaken baby syndrome!!!!:rotfl:

Wish they could fix it ...my son is taller and it doesn't trash his head around. So I am thinking just the short ?

Two rides make me ill - kraken at sea world and space mountain mission 2 at DLRP. When I left kraken, I felt so ill I thought there must have been something seriously wrong. Like a bad hangover, but ten times worse. I love roller coasters, but that wrote me off for the rest of the day

I'm short as well (5'2") and I have the same thing happen--even if I plaster my head to the back of the headrest on RNRC. I LOVE it though so I do go once each trip. I can't do it a second time though--I can't handle the headache after. My mom, who is 5' even AND 65, rides with no problem. So go figure.

I also get a headache on EE, but I love that one too. SM isn't as bad. I can usually go on that at least a few times each trip. The same with EE. But not RNRC and I won't even THINK about MS. THAT one kills me!!

I use to love coasters and my mom would always tell me she couldn't ride them cause she blacked out. I thought she was crazy...Until I got in my 20's and the same thing happened to me, twice, on I think, two big coasters. Very short black out but very weird and my head feels so funny. Now I'm very careful. Hopefully I'll be okay on the Disney ones, not Rockin though, my sons not tall enough anyways.

I can't do the small, shaky rides like Space Mountain. I've been on that stupid thing twice in my life, once when I was 9 and again when I was 35. No thanks, such a monstrous headache.
I am fine with things like EE or RnR though. That was all pre-spinal fusion surgery though, who knows what I'll be like now.

It's a tension headache for me- my neck hurts and the lower back of my head. Last year I heard a CRUNCH in my neck while on EE. But, I didn't get a headache that vacation at all. It felt like a chiropractic move:confused:

Rock n Roller Coaster gave me a horrible headache. All of the rapid acceleration coasters do. Mr Freeze at Six Flags was even worse than RnRC.

I won't ride again, but I did love RnRC. It was a blast.
