Am I the only one LOVES the bus transportation method over driving?

We drive to WDW so our car is always available but we never use it. Once it is parked it stays that way until its time to leave WDW. Even when the busses are crowed it's just part of the experience!! We have never had very long waits. I especially like the mornings when everyone is excited to start their day of magic.

I love the buses and will never drive our car as long as I can help it.

The buses are wonderful - we've learned to take them on non-busy moments. But they are super. Other than renting a car to do something outside of WDW, we don't rent a vehicle.

We use WDW busing every trip, we like talking with other people, conversations while waiting can be interesting, as well as getting new ideas for your trip. Many of the bus drivers can be part of the magic with their interesting bits and rumors, many times become fact. Once our car is parked, it stays put for the duration, part of my vacation is a break from the driving. :cool1:

DH is an NYC bus driver so leaving the car behind is super. We had great luck with buses last trip so we are doing it again!

Or first trip we rented a car and I remember more than once lots of traffic to get out of WDW- we werent staying very far. It just seemed like a hassle.

Of course what a treat it would be to stay "monorail" one day!

We don't drive, but this year we are going with a couple of people who do, and none of us wil lbe hiring cars!

I just love the Disney buses, it's just part of the trip for us!

We have driven to the world more often than flying and last year was the first year that we opted to use the car. We stayed at POP and the busses were at maximum status, waited for 3 busses then standing room only. This year we are flying and will opt to use the busses but are staying at the Boardwalk and only need to use them to go to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. We prefer the Friendship boats to get to Epcot and MGM. My hubby walks to those parks but I take the boat. OHHHH the convenience of the Epcot hotels. pixiedust:

We like the busses. Most times we drive to Disney since we take our trailer. The busses can be a pain. My husband and I do not mind standing but my six kids I like to sit. Sometimes we have waited a long time for busses. Once at Saratogo we waited 1 hour! It was crazy. But, we still like the easy of the bus, not having to worry about anything. We will see this year but I still think we will use our van.

I LOVE the Disney buses  When we're on vacation, we're pretty laid back and love being driven around. I couldn't imagine trying to find my way around in a rental car - I would be soooo stressed out I wouldn't enjoy myself near as much. To me, the Disney buses are a part of the whole experience.

I love the busses also. The only place we drive is to DTD, it is so close and easy to find from POP. I have no trouble finding my way around the "real world" but I have a terrible time finding my way around WDW property. :rotfl:

I notice that on the boards, it seems most people drive themselves or rent a car when in DW, but I absolutely LOVE taking the busses around. To me, it helps me be UBER lazy on my vacation! :cloud9:

I guess I just like the idea of being chauffered around. :confused3

Me too, every day I drive to work in rush hour traffic, and every day I drive home. Since I have a van, whenever we go out for lunch at work, guess who drives? My husband does not drive, so guess who drives everyone to work, the subway, the orthodontist, the doctor...you get the idea.

On our last trip we used Magical Express, it was such a luxury to have Disney do the driving for the entire trip (and pick up the bags). We did rent a car for 3 days in the middle to go off site for shopping, but I love the Disney transportation system. The busses at CSR were frequent and never full. I can't say enough about this Disney perk.

Oddly enough I was on another discussion board yesterday that posed the OPPOSITE question. "Are we the only one who prefer driving everywhere?"....

We love the transportation at WDW. We park our car at the resort and don't touch it for the rest of the week. I don't get why anyone would drive. I'm sure in some cases it isn't, but it seems like a waste of time to me and I HATE, HATE, HATE getting on the trams from the parking lots! Besides the fact that we've just driven over 1,000 miles over a day and half to get there. I don't WANNA see the the inside of my van for a loooonnnggg time!

Disney transportation, buses included, is great, IMO. I do always have a rental car, using it for airport, resort to resort, DtD and USF/IoA.

I NEVER use a car at Disney. I used to use Mears from OIA to the resort, now it's ME and it's buses to every place else. The only thing I have a problem with is that I have to get a taxi or something to go to Mass now if I'm there over the weekend. They used to have it on site so I just took the Disney transport.

Love the Disney transportation! Park the car, leave it there until it is time to go.

Maybe it's just me, but i am certainly not a fan of the WDW bus system. The buses are slow, make what seems like countless stops, and are a major hassle at park closing times. we always stay at the Poly and one part of the trip I never look forward to is taking the buses to MGM, AK and the water parks. we have rented a car a few times and its sooooooooo much easier. With little kids now (3 and 2) it becomes even more difficult. I was there 3 weeks ago and we left DTD at 10, we didnt get back to the Poly until 11:20. If car seats weren't an issue I would definitely rent a car

I've already posted on this thread but I would just like to add something.

In addition to the buses adding to the experience and making you feel more like your on vacation, I also remember how I feel at the end of a long day in the parks. And reading some of these posts from people who don't use the buses makes me dizzy!
My lord, at the end of a day at the parks, all I want to do is plop down and doze off and leave the driving and concentrating to the bus driver! The last thing I wanna do after a long day like that is get in my car and drive back to the resort. Ugh! I'll fall asleep at the wheel!!!!

I don't like waiting for the bus or waiting while the bus moves slowly from stop to stop. Also don't want to be crammed in with possibly stinky people or have someone next to me if I got stinky.

If driving was too taxing for me and I wanted to be chauffered, I'd hire a car or take a cab.

I prefer driving to the bus at home and that doesn't change if I happen to be in Orlando.

We always use the buses. I don't think we have ever not used them. Actually when we stayed at Shades of Green, we did use our car to go to DTD. But we made the mistake of following the advice of the information person at SoG. He said to park down at the West End because not many people park down there. That was great except once you have walked all the way down to the Marketplace and want to go back to your car, its all the way at the other end. We had travelled all day and by the time we were going back to our car, we were all extremely tired.

DH loves the idea of leaving the car and not having to move it once we hit the resort. We know that there are going to be crowded buses and sometimes a wait, but we don't mind. IF we are too tired to stand in the evening, we sometimes wait for the next bus.

DH and I LOVE Disney transportation. The bus system is probably the main reason we'd rather stay on-site rather than off-site. At the end of a long day of park-hopping, driving to a hotel is about the last thing we want to do!
