Am I the only one LOVES the bus transportation method over driving?

We love Disney Transport (monorail is the best of 'em all). Even when we did rent a car we didn't use it except to/from airport and DTD area. That was before magical express; now we take busses to everywhere except DTD and the Boardwalk. We do taxis there; much cheaper than a rental anyway ;)

I totally agree! It's all apart of leaving reality, you park your car and don't use it untill you leave just like how you leave reality at the purple gates and pick it back up on your way out. I know that a couple times we drove in are car to eat dinner at other resorts (just to make sure we didn't miss our reservations) and it just felt weird it deffinitely took away the magic. It doesn't matter if it's a bus, boat, or monorail it's the fact that it's Disney!

my husband & i love the convinience of the wdw buses. weve always had good experiences with transportation at disney. it also prevents a large majority of drunk & confused drivers from being on the roads in the area.

Granted, I haven't been to WDW in awhile but I eally like their bus service and I have never had to wait a long time for a bus. I think I had to wait for a DTD bus for 1/2 hour once. I wonder if the bus service is worse now. I have gone in both June (busy) and October/November (slow) and both times the buses were fine. I can't see how walking out to the car, driving to the parking lot, paying for parking, finding a spot, and then taking the tram is much faster than just walking to the bus stop and it sure seems a lot less stressful.

I really, really love the boat rides! One of my favorite parts of staying at the WL last time was taking a boat to the MK. Sure, it's a little longer but it is pleasant.

2001: We flew in and rented a car. We spent more than an hour going from the rental counter, to the garage to find a pickup truck ( :confused3 ), back to the rental counter, back to the garage to FINALLY get a car. Drive to WDW, get totally lost finding our resort. Park the car. Never move it for 10 days. Get in the car to return to the airport (sob!) and find a HUGE DENT in the car. Fight with the rental car company over the dent.

Day after tomorrow :bitelip: : We will fly in, get on the Magical Express, and arrive at our resort ready to run.

Also:

When I told DH I was carrying a bottle of rum in my carry-on bag, he said, "Woo hoo! We can get drunk on the plane and not worry about driving to the hotel!" Ha ha, he kids.

Fond memory of the Disney Transportation System from 2001: riding the buses gave my DH time to teach our 5-year-old DD how to tie her shoes.

I hate driving anytime, anywhere, so anything that makes it so I don't have to is great by me!

I had great success with the bus system. I don't recall waiting all that long for a bus. Even on the nights I left the parks right after Wishes, Illuminations, etc. I did not have a long wait. However, this is probably due to me being alone and able to manuever quickly to the exit. If my family were along...well...I am sure I would not have been one of the first ones to arrive at the bus stop!

I honestly thought I'd want to drive everywhere, but when I got there, MUCH prefered the buses. Didn't have to worry about parking or where I was going. And I despise public transportation, even!

SOMETIMES i like the bus transportation over the regular rent-a-car. when you get a really cool driver or when it's a really mellow drive. it's just that "Disney-feeling" you know?

but other times when you have screaming kids(i know it's not their fault, but still, gives me a headache none the less) or rowdy kids or miserable people i would prefer to have a car. or when the busses come late, that's happened a few times.

The number 1 reason for DH and I to stay on-site is the WDW bus system. We like the idea that once you arrive WDW, you are on vacation. So there's no more driving for us until it's time to drive home (1300 miles)

Nine trips and we have not had problems with WDW bus transportation. We have been very lucky.

I love the Disney transportation....it's so nice having them cart you all over and not driving and parking. I think they do a great job!! That's a lot of people they cart around everyday! :sunny:

I love the buses. I don't want to drive if I don't have to.

I have always wondered about this also. Since I always take the WDW transportation, I really don't know if driving your own car is that much faster than WDW transportation. I can see where driving from resort to resort is much faster than the buses, but going to the parks I'm not so sure. I think some people feel like they need a car to have control of their plans.

We started renting cars a few years ago after some really bad bus experiences. Before DD arrived, DH and I loved to go to PI and stay out late...it was nice to have a car right there waiting for us & not have to wait and wait for a bus at midnight. Now we have DD who is Autistic & we will always rent a car. I never know what might scare her & the loud, crowded bus might not appeal to her, especially if we have to wait 20 minutes for it.

We used to love the buses, though, once upon a time...

I love the buses, i would never rent a car. I would hate to have to worry about getting lost and or losing my car in those huge parking lots. Not to mention that I a way to lazy to walk all the way to the parking lot :thumbsup2

Yea lol, of course i like riding the disney transportation buses. The ony bad thing is the wait on some of the buses. If you rent a car, there are no worries about missin the next bus or what not. The Disney buses add to the magic effect!

OK I dont mean to be snobby here...but what is magical about being sardined into a bus with kids sitting on your lap??? We went last thanksgiving...and virtually every ride the bus driver filled the bus to capacity.....

Of course keep in mind...apparently Im spoiled :teeth: because as a child we always stayed in a monorail hotel. Theres NOTHING magical about the buses to me. Car thank you...or monorail resort.
