Am I the only one LOVES the bus transportation method over driving?

We rent a car to get to and from the airport, and because we like ot go off property to the ooutlets. We laos drive between hotels if we are going to dine there, since there is no convenient way to get to the hotels by bus without switching and so forth.

To the parks, we usually take buses or boats, depending on where we are staying.

This is someone that loves to drive. I could spend a day just driving around checking out new roads. But me and my DH just loved the fact we never had to worry about directions or anything.

I also agree with another poster, it does seem to be part of the experience. And most of the people on the buses are very considerate. They will let an older person or woman have a seat, or a man carrying his children. It is nice to see how nice people can be even when they are totally exhausted.

Plus, living near DC for three years and having the Metro prepared us for it. Believe me, those trains get a lot more crowded than they let the buses at Disney get. Talking about Sardines.

We love using the busses @ WDW.

We'll be meeting up with my parents who are Florida residents on the upcoming trip and my parents keep telling us - "you can use the car in the evening if you like". And I've told them "Thank you, but in all likelihood we won't need to, we enjoy using the busses". And they just don't undertand it.

Even though it does cause some logistical problems from time to time - (like last trip when we were staying at POR, but dinner was at Boma, O'hana, Whispering Pines, etc.) But I sort of get some pleasure in figuring out how to get from Point A to B using bus, boat & monorail. It's not something I have an opportunity to do in Los Angeles.

I spend WAY too much time in my car here, it's nice to let someone else drive and my wife and I can crash up against each other in the darkness on the ride back to the resort, or talk to other guests in the morning at the bus stop and find out where they are from - etc. It's part of the WDW experience for us.

I thought bus transport would be a big pain from reading some of the posts. I was very pleased with how easy and fairly quickly we got to the parks. True, there were a few times that we had to wait maybe 10 minutes but it wasn't a big deal since we always got to the bus stop early. The only time we waited about 20 minutes was for the Downtown Disney bus from Wilderness Lodge.

The bus was always pretty relaxing, on our way to the parks we'd people watch, other families can be funny and/or interesting. On our way back to the hotel, it gave us wind down time to reflect on the days events.

We also took a cab to a couple of hotels for some ADR's since it was quicker and no having to transfer from one bus to another.

My DH said he's glad we didn't have to drive as that would have taken away from the relaxation for him since he would have to deal with traffic, directions and parking.

I don't like waiting for the bus or waiting while the bus moves slowly from stop to stop. Also don't want to be crammed in with possibly stinky people or have someone next to me if I got stinky.

If driving was too taxing for me and I wanted to be chauffered, I'd hire a car or take a cab.

I prefer driving to the bus at home and that doesn't change if I happen to be in Orlando.

Thank you - well said - nothing magical about the busses! They are BUSSES PEOPLE! :confused3 :confused3

None of the busses I've been on in Chicago had drivers that gave me Disney trivia on the way to my destination.

We love Disney's transportation, it's part of the majic.

We also use bus trans. only!!! My husband & I and get lost in our backyard!! :rotfl: So we love the fact that we do not have to drive the whole vacation!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2
