That still uses a 35mm camera? I am just not into the digital world yet, I guess. SO has a digital camera but I like my little Canon Elph :confused3

I feel like I am the only one left out there. Tell me there are others :rolleyes1

You are not alone! I received a digital camera for my birthday because my family figured it was time for me to make the switch. :rotfl2: I do like the digital camera, and especially like the ability to print pictures immediately after taking them. However, I still prefer my old 35mm Nikon. I also have a 35mm Canon that is automatic as well as manual, and I even dabble in black and white film on occasion!

Not too long ago, I took some film to Walmart to be developed and the clerk remarked, "Oh, someone who still uses film." :rotfl2:

No you are not alone!! One of my exes bought me a very nice digital camera and I hated it. I nit-picked every picture and ended up never printing any out. I love taking a roll of film into the store, not remembering every picture that was taken on it, and being surprised by each and every picture. Some of my favorite pictures are silly ones I know I would have deleted if they had been digital.

I used to be that way, MM. I had an APS camera that I adored--when I dropped it and broke it, I was heartbroken because it's very difficult to find a film camera nowadays.

DH decided to drag me into the 21st century and bought me a wonderful digital camera that, at first, I was freaked out about using. Then I took it to WDW and had a blast with it. Now I don't think I can go back to film. :teeth:

I have both, and use both, but mainly use my 35mm. Now for me, it's mainly because my 35mm is leaps and bounds ahead of my digital, but I also find that I'm too damn lazy to print my digital pictures. But I have no problem dropping a roll of film off at Ritz, and going back in an hour to pick it up (Ritz is in the mall, so I shop while I'm waiting). My 35mm is a Nikon N80 I think, so I get to play with various lenses and stuff. When I'm at school though, the Nikon stays at home, and I'm strictly a digital user. But on vacations, I prefer my Nikon, and just take a few on the digital to share online

It's funny you should post this. My old 35 mm camera isn't working well anymore, and I've been thinking about this a lot because my WDW trip is right around the corner. I love my old 35 mm camera! But, it's not working well and I don't think it's worth buying a new one when we live in a digital world. :guilty:

My trip is 14 days away, and I might take the plunge & try to go mostly digital. This is a BIG step for me! I bought a few disposable cameras as a back up, but I'm going to try and do about 200 pictures (which is how much memory I have) on my digital camera. Dh isn't traveling with me, so I'll have to troubleshoot myself if I have a digital camera problem. I hope it all turns out OK!

Well, I have a Canon digital camera and I sometimes use my kids' Kodak one, but I still use my Olympus 35mm.

Digital cameras have memory cards which makes it so convenient and wonderful for picture taking. One memory card can hold hundreds of photos. I can also easily transfer pics to CDs for long-term storage. I also easily post pics on websites and for selling on ebay. You might want to reconsider.

I still use my 35mm, though. It has come in handy when my batteries ran out in my digital or when I want to use black and white film. Plus, once my computer got a virus and my photos were inaccessible. Luckily, I had them on my 35mm camera so I didn't despair.

No, you're not alone. When I have access to a darkroom I'll shoot off a roll of film. I love what I'm able to do in a darkroom better than what I can on the computer.

Nope, I love my big ole bulky 35mm(compared to slim little digitals anyway). It takes awesome pics and I love it. Dont feel alone. :thumbsup2

I've had my Olympus 35mm camera for 14 years and I absolutely love it. I'm afraid that when it eventually stops working, I'll have no idea how to use a camera because everything is digital now.

Of course the expense of film and film developing may be what pushes me over the edge into the digital world, but for now, I'm still using my old reliable 35 mm.

One thing I thought might happen is that with fewer people wanting 35MM film developed, the price would get higher. has that happened?

We still have a very nice 35MM camera but rarely use it. I've always wondered if we should just find a way to sell it and accept the fact that digital quallity is as good as we will ever need in the future.

This probably isn't much consolation to you but I've found that the digital cannon elph is extreemly similar to the 35 mm one. So maybe when you make the switch (and it seems like everyone does, myself included) then it won't be too hard for you.

BTW, I love my friend's digital cannon elph. I use a digital kodak that I love for some of the settings available on it but for just point and shoot I'm forever taking my df's elph and snapping a few shots.

I have a digital (Kodak easy share, ugh!!!) that I really dislike!!!!!! So I use my 15yr old NIkon 35mm. I got the camera for 7th grade photo class, it saw me travel to diff countries, get married (also took it on the honeymoon, trusty film camera!), photo my child and I still pick that camera over any I have used!

ME! I just bought this camera 15 years ago, why would I replace it if it's not broken? I am actually starting to consider those new fangled digital cameras, but why rush into anything? :teeth:

Im a 35mm girl, I have a digital and am getting a dslr someday soon but I will ALWAYS (or until the day the dont make film anymore) use my 35mm.

Me too. Dh and I got a Kodak easy share for christmas a couple of years ago and was so excited. Until we used it! Ugh, that thing is horrible. Then last year my mom's office gave her a Samsung for her birthday. Well my mom is not at all up on that stuff (they don't even have a computer, the horror!) and didn't even know how to turn the thing on. SO she gave it too us, once again, much to our excitement.

Guess what? Hate it!! It has to be THE most un-user (word?) friendly of all digital cameras. Every picture is fuzzy once we transfer them to the computer. So we've been using our Canon 35mm with no probs. I really want a GOOD digital camera but to be honest I'm scared of spending the money and hating it.

I still have a regular camera. I never use it, though - I always buy one of those disposables.

I'm just not into new technology. I just bought my first cell phone for my birthday in July. I don't even know how to use it.

I don't even have call waiting on my home phone...

I was going through some boxes in my closet and I found my very nice Pentax SLR and a very nice and barely used Pentax point and shoot. I forgot I owned them. We now have a digital point and shoot and we have ready access to my father's digital SLR. The digital SLR is truly amazing. Yes it costs a good bit of money, but nothing beats the convenience of having your pictures immediately, having 250+ pictures per "roll of film" and not having to spend money and time on developing. Not to mention the level of resolution on an 8MP camera is amazing. When you get your digital camera, you may miss your film camera, but I bet you forget you still have it.

DH refuses to use a digital camera. He says that as long as he can get film for his 35 mm camera, that is what he will use. He doesn't adapt well to change. Both kids have digital cameras and the pics are great and it is nice to have them on the computer.
