Am I the only one about to panic?

I hope it just fizzles out and you don't have anything to worry about.

It looks like it just hit Cancun, was anyone we know down there?

Rajah - We're on the third floor with large bay windows facing West. Since it's an apartment complex, we can't board up our windows (um, anyone got a ladder that tall?), so if the winds are less-than-desirable, we have to hole up in our guest bath and hallway. The good and bad is that A: we are on the 3rd floor - hence, no flooding our house; B: our parking lot floods like crazy, so we have to find somewhere to put our vehicles - preferably close by!
I feel for you... you were the first person I thought of this morning when we were watching the weather reports. My parents live in a very nice double-wide trailer (lived there for 24 years) - french doors, wood floors, 3 bedrooms - it's huge and nice, but it's all they have and they live about 40 minutes from Port Arthur. That's not far enough inland should Isidore strike SE TX directly. So, I have to get them to evacuate with us should that situation arise.
I'm praying that The Big Guy will spare us, as well as everywhere else. Talk to your neighbors, Rajah... maybe they can help you out or give you some advice about what to do with your windows. Crossing fingers, toes, eyes, and legs.

We're thinking of y'all in TX and all along the gulf coast. We are also keeping a really close eye on this one. I was glad to hear this morning that it is down-graded even more and is still over land. At least when it gets over water again, it will have to restrengthen to where it was last night. I was wondering last night just how much stronger it was going to get before it hit the states.

DH grew up in southern CA and I grew up here in the south. We are always discussing which is worse - hurricanes or earthquakes. I have been in an earthquake before and didn't like it one bit. At least there is notice with a hurricane and you can evacuate. Of course, as he says, an earthquake doesn't take several days to hit.

Take care everyone!
