Am I the only nut who does this????

I collect beach towels from every Disney Resort and park that I visit. Not only that, I have them from every place I go...everytime I go. Universal, Bush Gardens, Ft. Lauderdale...you get it. Do you have any idea how many stinkin' towels I have??? I have enough towels to dry off a small country...and I just keep doing it....I can't stop....HELP!!! And one more thing....how do I get one of those dang smilies on my post!!!!

That's a cool thing to collect - although I suppose it takes up alot of storage space! Do you feel comfortable enough to actually take them in public and USE them? I'd be afraid of someone "liking it" more than I!

We received a beautiful (free) beach towel from Disney Cruise Line as returning guests, and the only place I would ever feel safe showing it off would be say at a pool party at someone's home! Maybe I'm synical, but I've had beach towles ripped off in the past! But anyway, it's still a cute thing to collect!

Great idea!! We collect magnets. We try to get magnets of the places we visit. We do put them on the fridge and they are always conversation starters!!

Are you saying that you purchase them in the gift shops? If so, then jsut stay away from the gift shops

If you're saying that you help yourself to the ones that are provided for your use while a guest at that resort, but take it with you, then my advice is to stop before you are stopped--which won't be pleasant.

Yeah right, I actually purchase them from gift shops. Don't be silly, why would I pay for them when they are all just lying around for the taking???? You can never have enough plain, bleach out, stained towels on hand!!!!

That is so sad to hear that someone would steal beach towels, that beats all. I love the nice ones I've gotten, very artistic. To fancy up your signature you can get a smiley or countdown timer etc, by visiting the technical forum. Is that what you mean??? They list the steps there.

I have been collecting beach towels from WDW since 1984!!
Not that I have that many......but my DH thinks I am nuts....he is always saying "you have so many already! Why do you need another beach towel??"
Guess what he bought last October when we went......
A BEACH TOWEL from the ESPN shop!!!!!
I have one from each park....2 from MK
and one from each of the resorts we have stayed at....2 from AKL just because I couldn't decide which I liked better.

I almost lost my CBR one last year while at the Poly. I discovered it was gone the day we left and figured we had left it at the pool. I called guest services at Poly and a week later it arrived at my house.

Glad to know I am not the only nut. I have over 50 different beach towels. The kids are forbidden to take them from the house....they stay right here at home for pool use...I have invested way too much money to have them used as bases in the kid's game of kickball !!!! You know, after reading some of the gross-out posts on this forum, maybe I could save money by starting to collect bottles of pee, bugs or maybe nasty bathtub hair clogs!!! LOL.

We get a beach towel to remember each trip. Usually from the resort we are stay at.

I do the magnet thing, too. I like to get the picture ones a pick a favorite picture from the trip to put in.

We collect the magnets and t-shirts from all the resorts we stay at. The magnets are easy, because they take up no space, are useful, and are only $4!

On our trip last week my husband swiped a beach towel from the Beach Club. I told him he was pathetic, but I have to admit - they are really nice towels!

I think the beach towel collection is kind of neat. We collect decks of cards from everywhere we've been. Not quite as expensive as beach towels, and they take up alot less space!

We always get a magnet (preferable a frame one that we put a memory pic in) and a christmas tree ornament from everywhere we go. The tree is so beautiful and we have a lot of fun thinking back on each vacation. Epcot is great b/c each country sells their own ornaments and we get the official park one too. We do this on all our vacations, not just WDW. Sometimes they can personalize the ornaments so we usually add the date to it somewhere.

I collect pencils as souvenirs. Cheap, small and functional. I like to think that when my kids use them in school they remember the trip.

About how much do the beach towels costs? It is a great idea. I like the Christmas ornament idea as well. I will have to keep an eye out for them. I used to like to collect shot glasses, inexpensive, small enough to display, but no use for them. Thanks for the ideas.
