nativetxn, thanks I felt better after I wrote that, in fact, I pulled out the Thanksgiving candles etc and decorated a bit. Empty nest syndrome really bites!!! Maybe DD won't ever leave home!!! How do you guys fight that sinking feeling of "nobody needs me anymore"??

And yes I think Christmas is coming way too soon!

I too have empty nest with no grandchildren and it is different. DS is still at home but he is 23 and getting married in July. I have no little ones to buy presents for. I know I could buy for charity type organizations, but on Christmas day there is nothing like watching your family with children open presents and their excitement. I have a very very hard time getting into the Christmas spirit. Glad to know that I am not the only one!
