Am I the only crazy one NOT enticed by BLT?

Everyone has different tastes, likes and dislikes, what is there to get? Buy what you like and where you want to stay.

Nothing to get in my opinion.

Everybody is different. BLT does not appeal to me in any way, shape, or form but I'm happy for the people who are excited that they are finally getting a monorail resort. I know how thrilled I am that I am about GCV (been waiting for almost three years). If you BLT owners are even a fraction as excited about your new resort as I am about mine, then you must be over the moon!

We will probably stay at BLT at some point in time, but I think that we will pass on buying there. We are holding out for a GCV addon.

I can definitely understand the appeal of BLT. However, it's just not for me. I'm a VWL person through and through. If that decor and environment appeals to me so much, you can understand why I wouldn't be that jazzed about BLT.

I've got enough points at WDW, but if I needed more, I'd buy more at VWL or some at AKV. Other than that, I'm just waiting for those GCV points to finally go on sale because I love that even more than I do VWL.

Okay, so many others understand what I mean. I am very happy for those who have been dreaming of a DVC resort on the monorail line with castle views though.

It's true what many have said...DVC offers something for everyone, now in both theming AND location. I guess now it is more "complete"...DVC resorts in the Downtown Disney area (OKW, SSR), near AK (AKV), Epcot area (BWV, BCV), close to MK (VWL), and now on the monorail line with castle views available (BLT). This truly is what makes DVC unique...the diversity of choices we all have in DVC resorts.

We are planning on doing an add on within the next 12 months, provided the economy holds and initially we were considering BLT but after seeing the point chart and the price we decided to pass. I'm not crazy about the decor and DH and I have a hard time swallowing 270 for a 1BR MK view for a week. We may actually look resale for the add on because the prices are much better.

Many years ago we stayed at the Contemp (before we bought DVC). The monorail was the draw. We have no interest in it, but I'm happy for those who like it.

Eh, it's not for us. We own at VWL, which has themeing that we enjoy more. No reason to buy into another MK area resort.

Where do you find the points chart and the price for BLT? I am just curious as to how much people are willing to pay for this in both buying into it and also points to vacation there. Curious how it compares to other DVC resorts.

I really thought that BLT would be our first add on, but the point use charts cured that case of addonitis real quick.

Only 3 things I don't like about BLT:

1) Theme/atmosphere
2) Points Chart
3) BLT is Not AKV

Otherwise I'd buy there! ;)

I wouldn't buy there either because of the decor. I might try to get in one year at the 7 month mark just to stay there once, but I won't cry if I don't get it either. Everyone has their own tastes. I can see why someone would want to own there. Location is great! I can see where some would love the decor. It is just not for me.

No, you're not crazy. The problem we have, is that the last that I checked, BLT is at the same ultimate destination that all of the other DVC's are - WDW Orlando. We enjoy WDW, but would prefer no more WDW DVC's, but rather would like other location DVC's! Our vote is to stop building additional places to stay at WDW and start building at other places to enjoy DVC ownership! Hawaii is a start, let's build on that model instead of putting a DVC at every already existing WDW resort.

We don't need more points. My husband likes the decor, theme and location - I'm less crazy about all the above, but not on a "reject the idea of a stay" level. But we have enough points for us (unless we start staying at BLT - then I suppose we'd need more points!)

I agree with the many folks here that said that BLT and the other DVC locations are personal choices.

I do think they are nice and offer some uniqueness - like all of the other DVC locations - and to each their own.

My main reason for not buying now is the lack of good incentives. If we were able to get the incentives that were provided on the Disney Cruises we would definitely buy immediately. We toured the models last Friday and came across a large group that was on the Cruise and they were telling us about their incentives - a week stay in a 2 bedroom, behind the scenes tours, etc - all in addition to the $5 off over 100 points and the plaq for the first 1000. Some other couples were with us and all felt like we were not appreciated since we didn't get those offerings. I think DVC just need to provide the same incentives to all current members - whether or not they went on a Cruise. I am happy for those folks - but will wait and add on only if we get "special" incentives.

It is a great location and the rooms look great - and being able to walk to MK - especially with kids - is awesome. Can't wait to see the fireworks from there some day!!! DVC - can you hear us on the incentives????
