Am I the only crazy one - Baby's first haircut

Why didn't you get his hair cut last year?

He didn't have any, lol!

He doesn't need a haircut that badly but he's got a baby hair mullet going on, lol. Really, his hair cut would probably be no more than one snip anyway so it'll be good to wait.

At least that's what I keep telling myself.

DS had his first haircut on mainstreet in september at 17 mo. of age. It was so much fun and such a great memory. The wait wasn't long at all, 15-20 min...would totally do it again in a heartbeat! When we got home I framed his certificate, lock of hair, and the reciept (the reciept says First Haircut on it too). First haircut mickey ears are sitting right next to it. So precious...and Magical ;)

DH and I have been having this same arguement! DD will be 3 when we go in June. She was totally bald until about 18 months...at 2 she just had enough for a little bow. But now, she really needs the ends straightened up...but I keep telling him that we are waiting until June. He has threatened to take her himself...so I'm keeping a pretty close eye on their outings until then!

I posted the same topic a couple years ago and there's still a few pics on the thread: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1092248&page=3

DH is grumping about me wanting to cut DD #2's hair in July (first haircut!) but I told him he can just take the kids on a ride or something while I get to treat her to it :goodvibes He'd better not get in my way or I'll :wizard: him away. lol

Aww, I didn't know they had pink ears! Maybe they were out with DD since she didn't ask me and just gave me black.

Funny, b/c we weren't given a choice either! She just gave us the pink ears, which were fine but DD wanted Mickey on them, not Minnie.

However, now she is happy that she was Minnie on them!

Hey, we might see you there! We'll be going in July too!

I think having a special mommy-daughter haircut would be fun! Let the others go on the rides...getting the haircut is a special treat! (or let the other kids get the 'pixie package' while you are all there so it's not just everyone waiting for the little one...)

We will be doing this with dd22 months!! Not sure when we will do it but I have a feeling in the evening on our way back after naptime. We are at CR so I will make an extra effort to get over there. I just hope she will sit still to get it done. She's a little sassy.;) But I love the pics of the stickers...she loves stickers...so there's hope.:)

We are planning to take our DD - 2 1/2 to get her 1st haircut at the Magic Kingdom when we are in Disney this February! She has very curly hair and really doesn't "need" a cut, but I would like the ends trimmed just a bit to get the dead ends off and besides what a wonderful memory to have your 1st haircut at Walt Disney World.. it is so special!

:)

That sounds like a great idea! I was unable to go in 2006 because we got rained out part of our trip so I didn't know what kind of options they had.

It'd be nice to run into a fellow DISer!

I have my Focker Watcher lanyard from the 2007 craze so not sure if there's anymore limers in the crowd nowadays.

Oh, I definitely do the LGMH thing! My diaper bags and strollers will be covered in large LGMH and I make "googly eye" LGMH from HD to hand out to my fellow Dissers!

we will be there in May my DD will be 8 mos is that too young even if its for a few wisps?

You may want to call to double-check if there is an age limit, but I'd assume that as long as your baby is able to sit still to get a few hairs cut, they can do that.

The kids sit in a booster seat so you'd have to hold her since I don't think there are straps to keep her in.

Now they may also let you just hold her on your lap to get some hairs cut, too.

I wanted to have my DD's 1st haircut there since she was born. My DH didn't want her to get her 1st haircut in a Barber Shop. Well, this past May, after 7 trips to WDW, my DD finally received her 1st haircut at age 5 at the Main Street Barber Shop!:cheer2: Persistence does pay off!:thumbsup2

We are planning for our DD to have her first haircut in MK in May at the age of 32 months. We have been waiting specifically for her first trip to WDW to do her first haircut.

We waited for Main Street as well. DS was almost 2.5 before he needed a haircut. We spent the 4 months before the trip praying that his hair would grow enough to have something to trim.

Not crazy at all!!! I had my DS and DD's first haircut at disney - it was hard because DS's hair was getting a little unruly!

The only place dd has ever had her hair cut is the mainstreet barbershop...I plan on dd and our newest dd getting their hair cut there again this fall. That is where I plan on all our kids getting their first hair cuts!

We had DD's first cut there 26 months, her hair grew so slow! One day we were in the car and I said something about her needing a hair cut. She said "so we are going back to Disney?!" :cutie:

I'm planing my DD's 1st haircut there when we go in June. She will be 14 months old & I don't think she'll have much hair to cut, but I'm not passing up this opportunity at all!
