Am I stupid to feel guilty about this?

It was a mistake! Don't ever feel guilty or silly for having a good moral compass!

I once found an envelope with 300 dollars cash in my apartment building that someone had clearly dropped. I put up signs and called the resident manager, even the head office. I found the owner and they were so grateful. It felt good doing the right thing

I stopped going back the time I got a cashier in trouble because the boss used the error as a springboard for gasslighting the cashier. I felt awful

These days if it happens I'll walk though the store leaving singles around for whoever gets them
