Am I right or wrong to be annoyed long post

I fall asleep to a audio book on my phone that is my white noise

so after yoga I get home eat lunch drift to sleep win my auto book on my phone

I feel a vibration on my wrist I see my aunt calling no big deal I hang up the phone go back to sleep

Here is what I was annoyed by she called twice initially I was not annoyed i thought okay maybe a emergency nope not a emergency

I was taught that if someone picks up leave a message they will call back not call till they answer unless it is a emergency

If I ever call someone to say hi I will wait I only phone bomb when it is a emergency

The only thing I take responsibility for is being in the habit of falling asleep listening to a audiobook book
Does she do this all the time? I've called ppl twice in a row when it didn't go to voice-mail or if it seemed like it was dropped/didn't go through.

I don't it's worth wasting your time or being annoyed over. The most you coukd do is silence your calls, block her, or stop listening to audio books on your phone to go to sleep.

That is the issue I have with cell phones becoming your all in one device. Books, phone, alarm clock etc. Sometimes you can have an irritating conflict.
My books are all on my tablet. I still have a landline for people to call me. Only 6 people, all family have my cell phone number and they know that number is only to be called if it is an emergency or if they know I am not at home. And if I am home, my cell phone is turned off anyway.

+1

Maybe she thinks she hit the numbers wrong or something messed up, so she calls the second time. To me, much ado about nothing. OR, simply let her know that you usually nap between 2-3 (whatever time) and you'd appreciate her calling either before or after. Even if you don't nap every day, just let her know that's your "nap time". I'm sure she's not calling to disturb your sleep on purpose.

People still call each other? The only people I talk on the phone with are my parents other than that its texts and in the texts we say "hey wanna chat". I always assume if someone calls me someone is dead... so two rings.. def an emergency and panic mode.

Why? If you want to chat via text, chat via text. I *MIGHT* text asking if someone has time for a call, but that's if I know they might be busy (work, kids, etc). To me, it seems like an extra step to text before calling. Call me. If I don't answer, either send me a VM or drop me a text and let me know if it's important.

My 20 years olds call people all the time. They tell me I need to get with it and stop texting. 😂

Exactly the reason I HATE that Disney is now doing just about everything where you HAVE to have your phone with you. I used to go on vacation and leave my phone in the safe. I actually want to be on vacation from the real world. I use my phone for business and there is nothing worse than someone texting wanting to know when their appointment is, while I'm standing in line for Space Mountain. I don't want to think about these people right now!

You sound like me. I usually keep my cell phone off except for when on vacation when I give the number to my a neighbor or friend who is bringing in the mail and paper and the kennel in case of emergency, I need to bring up tickets for a sporting or other event, or when calling somewhere and they are sending a text for security. I have an iPad for certain things and still like to have actual paper books to read.

I remember cell phones before they pretty much became life although a pro is less clutterer in my condo

It has my books and movies for example

I'm good at calling and getting voice mail, thinking I wouldn't leave a message, and then changing my mind and calling back to leave a message.

Agree with PP who said to put your phone on Do Not Disturb.
Yeah / this is me too. So I definitely have called people twice in a row to leave the vm the second time.

I also wouldn’t consider two calls phone bombing.

You can also use DND and still be able to use MDE.

I often text people to see if they are able to take a call, or what time they would be able to. I get a fair amount of those too and I appreciate them. I don’t think it’s that uncommon.

Yea they love the facetime.. I dont have time for that I dont wanna see my face lol
YES! Video calls are worse than regular calls. I have also so far been able to skate by at work without turning my webcam on during Teams meetings, too.

My phone sometimes does not ring with a phone call for some reason. So my family and friends will call twice or more. Sometimes even text, hey calling you. This wouldn't bother me. If I wanted to not be bothered, I would silence the phone. Expecting others to behave as I would is always a bad idea and a major let down. Just better to go with the flow. Save being irritated for something more worthwhile.

My uncle does this, and I find it annoying. Especially because we won't hear from him for months, and then suddenly he URGENTLY needs to talk to us...just because he was bored and wanted to say hi. But I know he's lonely, plus he's had some recent health challenges and I'm very glad he's still with us. So I generally suck it up and answer unless I'm in the middle of something that can't wait.

I find that older people (like myself) that are not even a little tech savvy, are afraid of leaving a message either because they don't know if they are doing it right or just have this thing about leaving a message. Couple that with people that grew up and many years into adulthood used regular phones that involved your phone to ring until it was answered. If someone didn't answer and you felt that they should be home, then there is the worry that something is wrong. Not that one would answer if there was a problem. Back then there was no caller ID and answering machines were few and far between. Old habits are hard to break.
