Hi,

I'm in the midst of planning my family's first trip to WDW (and having the time of my life!), and I'm worried that I planned too much time at Epcot. I've been told to break it up into two parks, FW and WS, and so after doing that, my plans seem Epcot-heavy. In our 9 days in WDW, I have 3 days scheduled there. Now, I don't plan to spend the entire day there (3/4 day and the rest is at hotel), but is this too much? I have young kids, but I imagine they will love WS, since they like more "educational" stuff. Plus we'll be there during the Christmas season and I want them to see the santas. :goodvibes One of our times to Epcot will be to see IllumiNations, and eat at WS.

In contrast, I only have one full day at AK with an optional half day, and only one day at DS. Plenty of MK though. :Pinkbounc

We always do at least 2 full days (4 1/2 days, really) at Epcot and more time if we have it. I don't think you have too much time at all, my boys love Epcot (5 and 2)!

No, I don't think you have planned too much time at Epcot. Remember, that you can always split those days so you don't get tired of one theme park. I think we ended up spending about three days at Epcot too. However, we did MGM all day, then went back to the hotel and over to Epcot in the evening. Then another day we did the opposite. We ended up with three full evenings at Epcot to see Illuminations, it's our favorite.

Also, we did a half day at AK. For some reason, it's not one of our favorites.........yet we still wanted to see The Lion King, It's Tough to be a Bug, Exp. Everest and Dinosaur. Of course, we visited MK atleast two full days!

The highlight of the trip was seeing Tiger in Epcot! Tiger is my HERO! :woohoo:

Have fun!

We can never spend to much time in Epcot. Our kids love WS and the attention that is lavished on them. (It's the easiest park to meet characters) We go for 10 days in Dec. also, and are planning on at least 4 days(1/2days) and I'm worried that it won't be enough! Have a great trip. Janice

I think your schedule is just right as well. Epcot is soooo big, it takes a lot of time! Like you, we only left one day each at AK and DS, and were perfectly happy with that. And you said you've got lots of MK time, so you should be fine!

This our first time too. We are planningonly 1 park a day with breaks at the park in cool spots like airconditioned . I just don't like the idea of hopping We plan 1 full day at each park & a second full day at M.K. a day at Seaworld and a day at the resort also fitted in down town disney the 1 st day. We hope to get there early and stay to see the fireworks but have no intentions of staying for extra hours. Does this sound okay?

I think you will be fine with the plans you made. If you get done with Epcot faster than you thought, you can always use your park hopper pass and go somewhere else.

Have a great trip!!!! :cool1:

personnaly my family is in love with epcot we love world showcase so i say i dont really think you overbooked it

It really depends on what your family likes. We're only going to be in the parks for 4 days and I'm planning 2 of them at Epcot. My DS specifically asked for us to go our first day to Epcot and I know he'll enjoy a second day there more than he would a 2nd day at MK (we're going to do Epcot, AK, MK, Epcot).

I would take three days if I had a nine day vacation. There is a lot to see in world showcase. I also tend to get tired out once we get half way through. That will also give you more time to eat different things from all over the "world". Future World would also be a great whole day. I don't think that is too much for a 9 day trip!

We go for 6 days, and spend 3 at Epcot. It's by far our favorite park. We catch Illuminations 3 times also. Never get tired of it! :thumbsup2

not full days either - our first day planning to arrive at opening and do the fw side w/lunch at 1pm at Garden grill - now i'm thinking after lunch maybe go over to ws for a couple of hours b4 heading back to hotel for swim quick cs dnr and sleep.

OUr last day i was going to get to Epcot about 3pm or so we have a dnr 6pm @ coral reef! also was thinking walking around ws after dnr and staying for illuminations - maybe b4 dnr we'll do more on the fw side??

any great itiniraries you'd like to share with me? we'll be 8/27 - 9/4 -- we have two boys 4 & 6.

Also planning 2 3/4 day's at MK and possible hitting MK on our last night for EMA.

MGM planning 3/4 day

AK full day

We're returning to WDW the last 2 wks of Aug (just like last year).
I added up our park time and its about 10-12 hrs in all the parks except EpCot. EpCot comes up around 25 hrs! (thats easy when staying at an EpCot resort!)

We always do 3 days at EPCOT. My kids have always found WS a little "dry." (not many rides) so we usually use 2 days to tour WS with afternoons re-riding favorites in MK

There is no such thing as too much time at Epcot. :goodvibes

I think it is good to go through WS and not rush. There is so much to see! Explore the nooks and crannies of each country. Stop and enjoy the shows. Grab some snacks and relax a little while you're exploring. Future World is a lot of fun, too. Ride your favorite attractions more than once if you have time. Enjoy!

WE just got back and we only planned one day in Epcot b/c we have small children. WE did the princess lunch in Norway for lunch which was excellent. Lot of princess interaction. We did not think the kids would love Epcot but they did. We actually came back for our last afternoon to ride mission space 3 times and tried to get back on test track but no one wanted to wait we had already had 2 rides on our first day. So just see what you kids like. Just remember there is alot of walking in Epcot. It was huge!! So I would definitely break it up by FW and WS. My kids loved FW and Club cool!!!

I agree with most of the posters-I did not think that Epcot would be that great, but it was!!! We even went back one evening without the kids to eat dinner. I wish we had did more time in Epcot, we will next time. The kids loved it. We also loved Club Cool and MouseGears. Have Fun :cool1:

AK full day

This is just my opinion, but my DS2 would never be able to spend the whole day at AK. He gets way too hot there...we usually get there early and leave after lunch. We usually split a day with AK and MGM and then usually do MGM for another full day (we really like MGM).

The time you have planned at MK sounds fine and we usually spend 2 full days at Epcot, too.

Hope that helps.
