Please tell me if I misunderstood the way the DDP works.

I thought that the DDP was a meal plan - that credits were assigned for the value of a snack, TS, and CS for all members of my party and deposited together into our "account." So, you end up with (#) points in our account that MUST be used during this trip.

I thought we could use as many points as we wanted each day, and when they are gone, they are gone - kind of like a college meal plan.

Am I way off base?

Thanks!

So, I thought that TS credits could be applied toward CS or snacks (if we're nuts)...This forum looks like that isnt possible. I would have sworn the CM that booked us told me I could - picky eaters like CS better than TS.

Is it just too early? Do I have that right?

During the free dining promotion they are allowing you to use a TS for a CS + pins or extra snack vouchers:

Disney Dining Plan Snack or Merchandise Certificate from August 13 - October 7

As a special offer, Guests who choose to dine in Quick Service locations using their Table Service entitlements will receive a certificate at the Quick Service locations for their choice of one of the following items: two (2) snacks, a collectable Disney Trading Pin and lanyard (pin design may vary), or a "Where the Magic Lives" poster featuring Mickey and his friends. All items are subject to availability.

Guests who choose the two-snack option can redeem the certificate at any Quick Service or Outdoor Foods location or participating Merchandise locations (both snacks must be redeemed at the same time, in the same participating location).

Guests who choose either the pin and lanyard set or Disney poster may redeem the certificate at select Merchandise locations (listed on the certificate).

Prior to that offering, folks were often permitted to convert TS credits into CS credits, on a one-for-one basis, at the front desk of their hotel -- generally towards the end of their visit. (The hotel won't convert credits "back" so they want to make sure you'll regret having converted the credits.)

There are limitations and conditions for the plan that aren't encompassed in the two or three sentence advertising copy for the plan. They're found in the brochure provided to you when you check-in.
