We will be arriving in Orlando Fri 3/30 sometime in the early evening after about an 8hr roadtrip. I would love to ride BTTF one more time will the lines be so crazy that I should not bother? How have they been this weekend? We have the 3 month Costco pass and would be able to get in at no additional cost but we will not be staying on site so would not have FOTL access. I would be up for it but I'm worried about subjecting my 8 and 5 yr old to a 2hr ++ wait after such a long roadtrip. Any advice?

Hmmmmm. I guess only you can know how important that last ride will be.

that's true damo, i'd say less than 1 hr wait is what it would be worth, anyone know how long the regular lines have been? I will be going for the whole day on Sun 4/1 and will get the express, but that won't help me ride BTTF

does anyone have an idea about what the sendoff party is going to feature?

Didnt phamton mention an express pass option for one or three rides? I remember it was $10 for three rides cant remember how much one ride was. That would work!

Friday is going to be a fairly busy day at Universal, you have Ellen taping two shows there that day, IOA is going private after 8PM and open to all UCF students until 1AM (The Student government literally rents out the entire park for students one night a year, and it's that day this year) and Back to the Future is closing.

I'd certainly give it a shot to see how the line is. I don't know of any official send off plans for Friday, but I'm sure there will at least be an "unofficial one", and probably a lot of old fans, old employees and more will show up in droves. I might go myself, but I think I'll try actually riding in the morning with the AP preview, and just come back in the evening to see everything else.

The bad? Half of the ride has been shutdown and gutted for a few months, and the cycle time is about 15-20 minutes per run of the film. Before that meant they could load roughly every 7-10 minutes, where as now it's double that. Right now it's not uncommon to see over an hour wait on a moderately busy day. Express passes only do so much, and there is a very good chance they will be sold out for that day.

They have really only announced closure to the Annual Pass holders, and recommended sometime during the week to "ride the greatest ride of all time" one last time. Even opening it up an hour early because of the half capacity wait times.

The potential is there for it to have the longest wait time ever at Universal (for any attraction) that night, though. And it's why they've promoted the early morning rides.

Thanks for the info Atricks, didn't know IOA was closing that night. Does anyone elso know about this 3 ride express that Fan2 mentions? That would be perfect for a late night arrival.

Universal is trying out a new type of express for those who don't need or want express for all the rides and shows. You can purchcase a one ride express for $5 or a three ride express for $10. This is a trial run during Spring break when express for the whole day for all rides and shows can be up to $40-60. If there are only 1-3 rides you need express for, this could be cheaper. This started a few days ago but I hestitated posting it here as express discussion tends to turn into a flamefest.

It's too soon to tell if this will continue past the trial period. I guess a lot will depend on guest feedback (pro and con) and whether it negatively impacts the express on some of the more popular rides.
