Ok, I had everything planned - staying Aug 11th - 21st at Swan 2 rooms at $125/night and then to BC for the 21st -26th, (got 40% off). My Dh didn't think we would need the DDP because when w went 7 years ago we ate at only CS, (didn't know any better) Well, after reading lots of dining reviews I decided to make ADR's for the time we are there in case we want to have some nice meals. Now I don't want to give any of them up....I really want to eat at all of these places.

So I started thinking that maybe I should go back to my original plan and stay at CSR for the beginning of the trip and get the DDP. DH will kill me if I even start debating this with him again??? And the kids are tired of hearing about it.

OPTION A stay at the Swan, great location, nice resort with great beds and pay OOP. Maybe we wouldn't spend the $222.00/day that the DDP costs for 7 0f us.

OPTION b - stay at CSR - nice place, but not deluxe and not near Epcot, gett DDP. It is approximately $222.00/day.

Now I'm rambling... any help and oinions would be greatly appreciated...

How does the price of 2 rooms at CSR compare to 2 rooms at the Swan @ $125/night? Do any of you have an annual pass, or will you get one for this trip? If so - you could then get the Disney Dining Experience card ($60 for AP holders) and save 20% at table service restaurants and CS at Animal Kingdom. I love the Swan and it's great location, and if you spend much time at Epcot or MGM you will really appreciate the Swan's closeness to those 2 parks.

The prices are pretty close. I have been debating getting an AP, so that might be an idea also. Thanks

I have been through all of this myslef in the last few weeks (like so many others....) I had the Swn booked at 125/nt too and figured that was SO great and would use the extra money to buy food. But, in the end I canceed that and we are now doing POR w/ the DDP. (My DH loves the plan and wil hear of nothng else!) If you really are intent on trying many table service meals you will definately do well to have DDP. (We figured one dinner at Chef Micky, w/ tax and tip woud equal the cost for the entire days worth of food on DDP.) Good luck whatever you choose!!!

Decided to talk to DH and he still wants to stay at the Swan/BC area unless free dining comes out. He wants to be able to walk to Epcot with the older kids. It's their fav park.

Why not have ddp for the bc portion...that way you get to try it and you dont have to lose the swan.

The OP already has a 40% discount on the room rate at the Beach Club - so I don't know if she could keep that rate when adding the dining plan. Plus - everyone would have to buy at least a one-day ticket - which does no one any good 2/3 of the way through the trip.

I haven't tried the dining plan because I almost always stay at the Swan/Dolphin - but I do have the DDE card. I have no doubt that the dining plan saves money IF you normally order an appetizer, dessert and beverage at every table service restaurant, and a beverage + dessert at every counter service meal. That's too much food for me and just encourages overeating. I'd rather order what I want, when I want, and get the 20% DDE discount at TS restaurants.

The 40% off codes had corresponding codes to get packages/dining plan. It really depended on how willing to help the cm was (to actually offer you the choice of a package) or how much you knew to be able to obtain this but many people did get it. However if op got the code without actually having a pin (whatever the reason) and has a room only reservation, since you would actually have to rebook to get a package op might run into problems. I dont know why I wasnt thinking about the ticket part of it. Oh well it was a thought.
