Am I nuts to think of a short weekend trip?

Absolutely nothing wrong with a short trip to WDW. We will be down there the same time. We will be down there for the week and spending two nights in CS and the rest of the time with my boyfriends father, who lives in Orlando, right down the block from Sea World.

To BethC1952 - May 23 is my birthday also. My boyfriend and I are planning a pre birthday night dinner at 'Ohana - my favorite place to dine - and a walk on the beach to watch Wishes. Planning on spending my b'day in MK with lunch in the Castle - we have never eaten there before. We are not sure about dinner yet - may just do counter service at the new Noodle Station in MK. We are having breakfast the next day at the Princess Storybook Breakfast in Epcot and a late lunch in Canada at Le Cellier Steakhouse (always wanted to have the Cheddar Cheese Soup). Of course we will get the birthday buttons from all the parks. Hope you have a great b'day in WDW and maybe we will run into each other.

In December we went from late, late Friday night (after work; arrived around 11pm) until Sunday night (left MCO about 8pm). It was a whirlwind trip, but so much fun. It was the only time that worked for us, and we didn't realize we could squeeze in a trip this May (but somehow we're managing that, too!). Your trip would be even a little more "relaxaing" since you'd have 2 full days, plus Friday evening and Monday morning. We have great memories from our weekend trip--go for it!

Dh and I flew in to Orlando for 4 days (a Saturday morning through a Tuesday late evening) this past fall. It was a wonderful trip, and we got to do way-way more than we had anticipated. We are planning more short trips to WDW for next school year. (have to put those PAPs to work!!)

because us DISers will always encourage a Disney trip. But honestly, short weekend trips are fun. We do it from time to time. For a quick fix or a special occasion. Once I surprised my husband for our anniversary. We went down on a Friday and came back Sunday. RnR coaster was opening and it was a special preview weekend for passholders. I told my DH that we were going to see a friend of mine who kind of lives near the airport. Instead of going to see her, we went to the airport and flew to Disney. Stayed at CSR and had a blast.

Spur of the moment trips are sometimes the best.

DO IT.

Wow, I'm doing the same thing this year. I surprised her during Valentine's day with a one night special night out. Now I have to "one up" myself for our 10th year anniversary. She tells me she'd love to go without the kids so off we go!!!!
