Am I nuts or what???????

Well, we (me, DH, DS6 and DS3) are leaving for the happiest place on Earth on Thursday. DS6 has no idea, we will tell him Wednesday after his kindergarten promotion ceremony. Well as if preparing for all this isn't enough, we bought a new puppy yesterday!!! Now we are dog lovers and very excited to have this teeny tiny guy, but now I'm worried we acted too fast. I guess we knew he wouldn't still be available when we got back, and the place we got him is letting us board him there when we are gone for free! But, now I need a little reassurance from all you puppy owners that everything will be alright!!!! Any feedback???????

Anyway...

Since the puppy will be at the same place where he was (for weeks?) beofre you purchased him and assuming said place will take the same care of him, all should be fine.

Did the pet shop look nice and clean?

Yes, he's a dog!!!LOL He is a Shih Tzu, about 9 weeks old. The place we got him, Breeders association of America is a new place in town. The store was spotless, they had about 15 dogs all in there own clean spaces, and 5 people working with them out on the floor. Everyone was very nice and quite knowledgable, so I have my fingers crossed. We asked if they would hold him till we got back, but the owner thought it was better for us to take the dog and then bring him back. So we're officially a family of 5 I just hope he doesn't hate us when we get back. He wasn't at this place for very long, just a few days, before that he was with his "family."

Shih Tzus are very good dogs, I don't think you'll have a problem-we had two of them over the years. Now we have a lhasa apso (to me they are just a bigger version of a Shih Tzu). Good, friendly dogs and good with children. Young dogs seem to adapt quickly, enjoy! Congrats on the new family addition!
