Am I nuts or strange??

Definitely not...we were just there in January and heading back next week. I think that is too far apart ;)

If I lived only 4 hours away, I think we would seriously be there all the time. When we lived down there, we were there 4-5 days a week at least!

can never have too much Disney!:rotfl:

what do you all think? is going to disney world last november (middle of november), and now in middle of may too close for disney vacation?

I'm probably not one to answer that one...:lmao:..I've been 6 times in the last 2 years. Going again for 2 days (Memorial Day wkend) & again in Sept.

I was there 4 weeks ago. I live in Chicago. We are supposed to be on a plane tomorrow morning for another 6 night trip to WDW.
My mom (I am a 40-something year old woman) thinks I'm insane.
Whatever.

:rotfl: My dd is 40, we're both insane "for WDW".

No, it is never too close for a Disney vacation.

We were there for long weekends in:
December 2009, January 2010, April 2010.

We have trips planned for:
May 2010, July 2010 and August 2010.

Lets see we went in September for 6 days, February for 5 and are going back in 3 weeks for 9. Nope you are not crazy or strange. :cool2:

Excellent thread!

We just got APs in March with our GAD passes, planning March 10 and February 11 trips. We just planned a surprise trip for our three boys in July because: 1) great AP resort rate; 2) great airfares; 3) our pre-teen boys won't be easily surprised for much longer; 3) our pre-schooler can't wait to see the new TS3 characters; 4) we have those APs; and 5) we found a stretch of four days in the summer with nothing on the boys' sports/activities schedules. So I'm feeling much better reading this thread, but we're still not telling anyone about our plans for an extra trip (including my mom!)

P.S. My dad is a WDW fan - maybe we'll tell him first. :)

You can never have too much time there!!!! We go down for 16 days in Sept. and if I had the time, I'd go in June with all the airfare sales.:cool1::thumbsup2

She just wants to pee in your pixie dust.

No!!! We live in MI (19 hours away) and we went in November, are going in June, and we are going in October. If I lived as close as you do I would go MORE!

I just spoke to my mom, and she stated to me that I am going to disney world too close.
last time we were there, we went in november, and we are going back again for 2 nights, and then on our cruise for 3 nights.

she says that my vacation to WDW is too close to each other.

mmmm If I could I would go more, because we honestly do not live that far from there. the 4 hr drive goes by so fast.

I told her that, and she just gets so sensitive when I say something. I can never talk to her like a regular human being, when she talks to me it's always about telling me something that I need to do, or her opinions on the things I want to do. She is the reason why I did not take my DD to disney when she was a year old. I just can't get away from it. It's just really annoying. Specially when I say how I feel, she starts to cry. There is no way that I am doing that to my DD.

oh I have not told her we are going on the cruise yet, I am saving that for before we get to the cruise ship ;)

It's not crazy at all. If it is sign me up. I went 5 times in 2003. In 2004 I spent a month there. That said I went for three days before a 7 night Disney cruise in December. Back the end of January for 4 days and a 3 night cruise on the wonder and I leave again this Sunday for 6 days. I definitly fit the crazy bill. This will be trip 29 with 28 of those in the last 15 years.

It's never too soon if you can do it. I'm already planning my granddaughters first trip in September (Free dining).

My mom would never even hear of a Disney vacation when I was young. I wanted to go since it opened on my 9th birthday. She took my sister who was 10 years younger in 1988, then came home feeling guilty and took me and my two kids. Since 1995 my children have been many times as a family and individualy. It is out mom and me time. they share my love of Disney and my middle son is on his second college program currently working at EPCOT until next week. My mom would always tell me it is a waste of money but the memories and times together we spent are priceless.

If I only lived 4 hours away, I'd have an annual pass and go as often as I could!!!!!!!!!:cloud9:
You have to respect her opinion..... but that doesnt mean you have to listen to it.
Just politely tell her how much you enjoy it. And find something that she really enjoys and she does often.... and make the comparison.

example.... my mom goes gambling ALL the time.... like at least once a month. Sometimes just for the day, sometimes a 2 or 3 day trip.
And she's always making some comment about how often we've gone to WDW. We try to go once a year.
So... I added up all her trips to gamble... including a 5 day trip to Vegas. And... gee.... wouldn't you know it... she goes there about 3 times as much as I visit WDW. So it stopped her from saying anything anymore.

I think you are crazy, only 2 trips in 6 months and you live only 4 hours away.:rolleyes1 Get AP and visit as much as you want. Being so close and being able to drive, you can even make a day trips, every second week. As for your mother, did she ever visited Disney? Take her with you once, explain that it is not that expensive(I assume you live in Florida and have discount), she may understand you and if not, well, you do not have to share all interests. my father same way, does not get Disney and very vocal about our trips well and I do not like sports.

You aren't nuts or strange!! My mom HAS paid for some of our trips, but I just ignore her rants! Gotta love her!! Moms have a way of making a mountain out of a mole hill and no matter how many times I explain to my dear mother she still doesn't get it sometimes! Just go with the flow!:grouphug:

Thanks to everyone for your opinions!

I would love to be in WDW more often. I really do enjoy myself there and I am nuts for not going more often! lol

I'd go often if I were that close...as it is, people in my community drive a 16 hour round trip just to get to a city to shop for the weekend. 8 hours for me would be nothing.:lmao:

I totally agree with you!

I should go more often! I love WDW it makes me feel so happy to be there. it truly is my favorite place in the world :goodvibes

Now my goal will be to visit all the other disney parks of the world. Maybe I will go to california later this year.
I'm not sure if I want to do a week cruise or a week trip to california.... we will see how my finances are.:thumbsup2
